The Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence says it now has a clear national vision for Trinidad and Tobago, one that places digital transformation and responsible AI at the center of government modernization.

00:00In MPAI, we are making government more accessible and responsive.
00:23Initiatives like Anansi, which many of you would have been familiar with, are AI-powered
00:28and provides citizens with accurate information.
00:33ICT access centres, also a cornerstone of this ministry's work.
00:38It really bridges the digital divide, ensuring no one is left behind.
00:44Smart government, we know in which government is meant to work and how it is meant to operate,
00:50and we are trying to modernise those systems through projects like the NPICTT,
00:55a unified gateway for taxes, for licences, for pensions,
01:00and the national digital identification systems developed in collaboration with leading global partners.
01:07It can reduce wait times from months to minutes, increase public sector productivity, support innovation and export growth.
01:17It can strengthen national security on our borders.
01:22It can create new high-value jobs which are exportable.
01:27We can enable advanced technology in health, education, agriculture, and justice.
01:34And most certainly, we can position Trinidad and Tobago as one of the leading small island developing states in responsible AI adoption.
