00:21and making fraudulent statements on an application for permanent residence.

00:26The Department of Homeland Security also links him to the Sinaloa Cartel,

00:31designated a terrorist organization by the US government.

00:35His lawyers have called the allegations outrageous.

00:38In Mexico, this newspaper seller is following the case.

01:30has a relationship with a relative of El Chapo Guzman, ex-leader of the Sinaloa Cartel.

01:35So I believe that there must be some connection between him and drug trafficking.

01:40The high-profile detention of Chavez Jr. comes as the Trump administration struggles

01:46to enforce its policy of deporting undocumented immigrants,

01:51amid political protests, difficulties in mating their own quotas and court challenges.
