00:00During the interfaith service, Mayor of Diggle Martin, Akilah Glass-Glow Warner, said she's pleased to see how far Diggle Martin has come, and she boasts of the successes it has accomplished within the two years of it becoming a borough.
00:14Our work is producing results. Diggle Martin remains the only borough in Trinidad and Tobago to receive the prestigious Praise Award for our incubator program, a recognition of our commitment to innovation and the creation of meaningful economic opportunities for our young people. These achievements fill us with pride and optimism for the future of our borough.
00:41The mayor said there are 40 new projects scheduled to start within the next few weeks.
00:4740 development projects will be rolling out within the next couple of weeks within the borough, and those projects include road paving, drainage works, repairs to recreation grounds, equipment for the borough. So we are on our way.
01:05She also spoke about the injustice of thousands of workers being terminated under the new UNC administration. She said it is important to be the voice for the voiceless.
01:15The leadership, whether it comes from the state, the church, or any part of society, carries the same responsibility
01:25to stand for what is right.
01:33As over 10,000 workers across Trinidad and Tobago face the possibility of losing their livelihoods, I feel compelled to speak out on this issue.
01:47This is wrong. The book of proverbs reminds us, speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Ensure justice for those being crushed. Proverbs.
02:03In closing, the mayor said, regardless of our differences, we are bound by the shared responsibility to build a safe TNT.
02:11As respect, responsibility, and unity will always be at the heart of our progress.
