00:02This is Noah Lewis, a young lad from La Villette village whose penchant for football began since childhood.
00:08In fact, Lewis started playing at the North Coast Sports Academy,
00:12where his first coach happened to be none other than his mother, Nikisha Felix Lewis.
00:16Noah, tell us about your footballing journey, what you have done in terms of your football.
00:23Well, I played at Blanche in secondary school. When we were in the North Zone, I also take part in
00:29the public cups and other tournaments around China.
00:32Young Lewis was indeed fortunate to have many persons playing a huge role in his footballing journey.
00:37Besides his mother's guidance, he had several coaches to teach him about the beautiful game.
00:43There was plenty of people I believe that got me.
00:46I had coaches like Mr. Kevin Quintero, Coach Brent, Coach Peanut, Coach Kera, Coach George.
00:57I believe nearly everybody that came in contact with me pushed me a lot.
01:01Speaking of coaches, one of them happens to be Kevin Quintero, who knows Lewis for many years.
01:07In fact, Quintero can still be seen doing some work with a teenager whom he believes has a bright future.
01:13Noah is a very talented player and hardworking and committed.
01:18He's one of them who stick it out from an early age. He started football from around seven.
01:24And I glad to know he gained this opportunity to go out there and make full use of it because
01:27he's real committed to the game.
01:29He's dedicated and he has what it takes to become a professional.
01:32Once he's sticked to the program and he's sitting, he can go out there and make it.
01:36So would you say it's easy working with him as a coach?
01:39He has to work with Noah is very easy because he listens and he's very hardworking.
01:45Lewis is the first person from Blanchisha Secondary to receive a scholarship to the USA
01:50where he will play collegiate football at the University of South Carolina.
01:54The moment his mom got the news, she felt as though she was living his dream.
01:58As a mother, when you get that kind of news, you're elated, you're excited, you go through a lot of
02:06emotions
02:06because, remember, you're sending your child to a foreign land. You will not be there.
02:11So there's a bit of fear as well. But there's more joy in knowing that he has reached this far.
02:19Noah is expected to head to the USA in early August. But in order to make his dream come true,
02:24a plea for assistance is being made by his mother.
02:27They are requesting that we have 25,000 US in the account. However, we do not have that at the
02:33moment.
02:34And we are working on some financial support and we are, and hence the reason we are doing this interview
02:40and we are hoping that we can get corporate Trinidad to come on board and help us.
02:44She is also hoping that the North Coast Sports Academy can become a hub for players to go abroad to
02:49study and play football.
02:51Regarding Noah, anyone willing to assist can contact his mother at 744-1245.
02:57Vinod Nawani, Chiefs Sports.
