00:47for anyone ace bailey seemingly had one to three ideal landing spots it appears brooklyn and

00:58washington most notably were bailey's preferred destinations bailey reportedly told a team

01:10do not draft me by the way i don't think ace has spoken to a soul his team i i should say said do

01:20not draft me there's an assumption that that team was utah and then the jazz at five drafted ace bailey

01:28now ace went up on stage did he look you know he wasn't crying like come on malawatch so it was

01:37like oh is he even happy like what's going on here the jazz plane picks up walter clayton jr

01:45ace is like i'll catch the next flight it's like oh and then the jazz are like well we're not gonna

01:52budge and then bailey's like maybe i'm not gonna budge and maybe it's been sorted out i think the

01:58there's a few things here because the way some of this is going to get covered is i i know it's

02:06going to really bother me because of how people tend to cover this stuff with young athletes in

02:11these situations i'm not going to full out defend the way the bailey camp has handled this i'll probably

02:18defend them more than most but i'll let these guys kind of get first crack at it here coach where

02:26where are you right now on the ace bailey situation listen the kid was not going to turn

02:31down 50 million dollars okay all right let's just call it what it is he wanted destinations he wanted

02:38to go to a major media market in which he wanted to be a star and i'm going to say something that no

02:44one else will say in his set there are sometimes worries about black players going to utah i'm sorry

02:50i'll say it i'm not saying that that's what one of the four the team he said he didn't want to go

02:54in the top five i'm just saying it's a thing and that's something that the nba may have to address

03:00at some point in the future if they feel like they got to move out of that city because i think it's

03:05gonna be always hard for any age to get free agents to go to utah with all due respect and it's always

03:11been the case with the utah jazz in regards to ace bailey i just think he got bad advice and i think

03:18the crazy thing about it is everybody's talking about what ace bailey said ace bailey said nothing

03:22it was his representation that said stuff it was other people's sources ace bailey never came out

03:28and said this now i know he wanted to go to one of these two spots but when you look at ace

03:32let's put aside all the off-court stuff all the court stuff this kid could be a walking bucket in the nba

03:40i i firmly believe the guy could legitimately be a 18 point a game score his rookie year

03:48if the shots are there it's his shot i wish a shot creation his willingness to take any shot possible

03:57and not pass the ball is a reason why a ruckers team had two of my top three players on the board

04:03couldn't even get out of the playing round of the big tent tournament forget the nca tournament

04:09anywhere top 25 team preseason to me what i want to see tom is when you look at ace it's not about

04:19him it's about the four players of john collins laurie market and colin sexton and jordan clarkson

04:26the kid wants shots the kid needs shots the kid needs to be developed how many of those guys

04:35have to be moved for a guy like ace to get the minutes that he needs to let's see what kind of

04:42player he could be yeah so i would come at this from multiple ways like first off him wanting to

04:47go to washington or brooklyn he's an east coast guy like okay you want to stay east coast i have no

04:52issue with that um my prevailing take and final take would be like if he shows up and he signed his

04:57contract you know this stuff happens in in different sports it's happening with the bangles player that's

05:02that may be redraft or whatever might be i there's a there's a negative tone about it which i don't

05:08think is good and how it's being portrayed which i i don't from attacking from essentially uh what's

05:15the word like uh subtly attacking him or like um there is backhanded attacks against him which i think

05:21is wrong he wants to be a star i said this on draft night if they trade laurie market and john collins

05:26there's a clear path to him taking 20 or 30 shots a night yep i think that is fine from a basketball

05:30perspective i think it can work he doesn't love the spot i get that but if he if he signs his

05:35contract and he shows up and he plays in every game or you know whatever might be i think it'll

05:39end up being okay i don't like the conversation and the subtle oh uh passive aggressive tone that is

05:47being portrayed against him
