00:00DAP Deputy Secretary General Steven Simm says he is ready to go to court to defend his criticism of Sungai Bulu past chief Zaharuddin Muhammad.

00:12Simm said in a Facebook post that he is waiting for the letter of demand from Zaharuddin's lawyer.

00:19He said Zaharuddin had fanned racial sentiments and that he had merely spoken out against racism when criticizing him.

00:27Earlier today, Zaharuddin said he was considering legal action after Simm criticized his Facebook post in which he speculated that Malaysia could see its first Prime Minister of Chinese descent in the next 30 to 40 years.

00:43Zaharuddin also uploaded a screenshot of a news report about Johnny Lim's promotion in the armed forces, which he said was only for illustrative purposes.

00:54The post, which was subsequently deleted, prompted accusations of racism from several quarters and criticism including from Zaharuddin's own party.
