00:00Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Iwan Benedict has sparked speculation

00:06about his cabinet position after attending a farewell event organized by his ministry

00:10staff in Putrajaya yesterday.

00:13Rita Harian quoted a source as saying that Iwan also announced he would be on leave from

00:18November 11th to 29th but did not comment on resigning from his ministerial post.

00:23During a meeting with ministry staff and agencies in Timurlo last week, he said it might be

00:28his last speech as Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister.

00:32Iwan had previously said that he was prepared to relinquish his ministerial post if the federal

00:37government appeals the Kota Kinabalu High Court's decision affirming Sabah's constitutional right

00:42to receive 40% of federal revenue collected from the state.

00:46In his closing speech at the Penampang APCO convention earlier, Iwan had said he had informed

00:51the Prime Minister, deputies as well as other ministers of his stance on the court decision.

00:56He added that his stance aligned with the resolution passed by the Penampang APCO division which

01:01called for his resignation from the cabinet if the Attorney General's chambers proceeded

01:05with the appeal.

01:07Yesterday, Higher Education Minister Zamri Abdelkader also hinted that a cabinet reshuffle may take

01:12place within the next two to three weeks.
