00:50are supposed to be on the game and also somebody help me with this how is it possible that we can
00:56have a trade in the NBA playoff season slash NBA finals which we saw Bain you know the previous
01:02week as well but yet when we get to the NBA draft we're not allowed to announce any trades while the
01:08draft is actually going on where guys have to put on hats with teams they won't even go to and just
01:13make it convoluted how can you not have a season finish and blockbuster trades are already going
01:18down like what would happen here correct me if I'm wrong about two years right now right SGA is unhappy
01:23with OKC they're in the middle of the NBA finals ago SGA just got moved to the Lakers but he is
01:28going to play the remaining parts of the finals here and then he'll be a Laker once the season is
01:33over and he's done in the NBA finals how could a league do this I don't even know it was possible
01:37to make trades in the playoffs and the NBA finals and also game seven all the build up there let's go
01:44take this over because theoretically it felt like the Durant move was the bigger trade deal than actually

02:13know frankly DRS the trade does not become official until July 6th as well free agency starts before
02:21then I believe around July 4th each and every year but because the trade does not become official
02:27the Rockets now have or the Suns excuse me now have the Rockets 10th overall pick as a part of this
02:34Kevin Durant trade but Houston because the trade is not official will make the pick yeah what is that

03:15happen but you've got to be kidding like the optics were like we expect to trade for Kevin Durant over
03:19the next two to three days so the perfect look look the NBA is going to hold this tight lip they're
03:23going to release this on Tuesday they're going to let the NBA championship on Sunday have their day
03:27and also on a Monday let it breathe and celebrate OKC then we move into the all season then we get into
03:32the draft the trades and the draft they're up closely on Wednesday night I just can't believe
03:37as a business they would let that go down that way that was embarrassing for the league to me it
03:41really was Commissioner Silver allowed it Commissioner right side would rule with an iron fist that would
03:48never fly in his reign that is for sure in DRS it probably would have built some more optimism

07:00but I gotta tell you usually it's like and we talk like the dog days of summer which they are coming up
07:05but I feel like this year and I don't know what it was like you know the Eagles win the championship over
07:09Kansas City usually it feels like such a long occurrence to get football like back in your life
07:14I feel like this offseason was really quick and I don't know if it's because we really enjoy the
07:18NCAAs we're really enjoying you know Major League Baseball where we had long runs in the Stanley Cup
07:24finals and the NBA where it feels like we don't have that oh no three months of doom and gloom what am I
07:29going to do into a football season this year it feels like we got through that relatively easily
07:33yeah it really does DRS I completely agree with you it's like when we got to the offseason
07:38we were already at mandatory minicamp offseason OTAs the offseason programs for any and every NFL
07:45franchise already done felt like the offseason was a tight window now they're on summer break for
07:50about two to three weeks before the rookies start reporting the training camp in the middle late
07:54portion of July we're going to have conference media days in college football starting in just
08:00about two to three weeks as well it has been very fast of course this is the final four week in
08:06June a couple of days in June after next weekend as well before we get to July the 4th of July in all
08:12of that DRS and of course the month of June the final month without an NFL football game that includes
08:19the preseason until March of 2026 this week though a focus on the NBA still even after the end of the
08:28NBA finals it is draft week in Brooklyn Wednesday night round number one now a two-night affair
08:35Thursday night round number two DRS here are the odds to go one two three four five to start off the
08:44NBA draft the first two we don't really have much of a question of course when you won the lottery as
08:50the Dallas Mavericks surprisingly did you won the Cooper flag sweepstakes he is a minus 100,000 favorite
08:56to be the first overall pick Dylan Harper Rutgers minus 9,000 now to go to the San Antonio Spurs
09:03there was some kind of conversation the Spurs might go elsewhere to try to bolster the front court
09:09alongside Victor Wembenyama as they just acquired De'Aaron Fox this season with the rookie of the
09:14year in Steph Castle as well it looks as though they are selecting Dylan Harper at number three
09:20where your Philadelphia 76ers select that's where things get interesting currently a minus two
09:2680 favorite the freshman from Baylor and the Bahamas that's VJ Edgecombe fourth overall flags
09:33Duke teammate in con canipple trade Johnson the favorite to go fifth overall at plus 230 fourth
09:40the Charlotte Hornets fifth by the way selecting there the Utah Jazz the question DRS as you see
09:46those top five picks we'll talk about Cooper flag and Dylan Harper in a moment is Ace Bailey where exactly
09:54is Ace Bailey the other talented Rutgers freshman expected to go he is not favorite in any of the
10:01spots to be a top five pick he is the favorite to go sixth overall and yet from the odds perspective
10:08DRS Bailey is a minus 185 favorite to be a top five pick on Wednesday night make that make sense to me
10:16yeah it doesn't make sense you know what else doesn't make sense we were talking about this last week
10:21where it's like hey you're going to put on your best effort here to get a job as a professional
10:26so many times like it's a different again professional sports athletes great college
10:30athletes different from regular life as we like to say but it's like hey you know what I have six
10:34interviews out here I really want this job with IBM so I'm going to tank the other five interviews
10:38and then if my job with IBM doesn't go well I can't even go back to the other place because I
10:42didn't give them the time of day I'm not saying this is going to backfire in Ace Bailey but also
10:46understand this picks one through let's just say 30 they don't make the same money in the NBA
10:50it's like it doesn't matter where I go I just want to pick the best spot like you're actively
10:54sabotaging your early career because let's understand this nothing is a given like you
10:58saw like Tyrese Halliburton Achilles injury and Jason Tatum now granted they already have big
11:02contracts years into the NBA and things have worked out but let's just say you're not that good a pick
11:06because it happens quite a bit where you play out your rookie deal and nobody wants you in the NBA
11:11and away you go to Italy or France and you're trying to play overseas before your career ends so
11:15wouldn't it be nice to say boy I'm going to put on a great face here I'm going to have great workouts
11:19with teams and I might even be able to go number two overall as opposed to going number one with
11:24Cooper Flagg but let's just say this was the third overall pick I'm going to tank my selection to get
11:28down to seven or eight or nine or ten or whatever it might be and then say oh this is awesome over
11:33the length of my rookie deal I'm going to miss out on like 10 million dollars but I'm going to go to a
11:37place where I feel comfortable it's going to be bad where they're just going to let me be a gunner and
11:41shoot it's just such bad optics and I have no idea who's actually educating this kid on what
11:46you're supposed to do as a professional I know he's only 18 kids make mistakes but that's why
11:51you hire an elite agency that's going to say here's how it's going to play out work hard I will guarantee
11:56you a good NBA career as opposed to blow up and burn all bridges here make yourself look terrible
12:01and not a team player and I'll get you to the right spot horrendous the draft stock plummeting for
12:07Arius Ace Bailey is a little bit surprising to me right I had very high hopes for a Rutgers team
12:14ranked in the AP top 25 in the preseason to begin 2024-25 because of Ace and Dylan Harper two of
12:21the top three recruits along with Cooper Flagg of this 2025 class and I kind of thought DRS it
12:28wouldn't just be the recruiting rankings but also the NBA draft order Flagg one Harper two Bailey three
12:34signed sealed delivered so I'm surprised by what we are seeing here in his draft stock plummeting at
12:41this moment I don't think it's based on performance but as we have seen DRS organizations in professional
12:48sports notably in the NFL draft they want you to do things their way they want you to acclimate I'm not
12:56going to compare this to Shador Sanders we don't know how long the slide will be for Bailey if at all
13:00on Wednesday night in Brooklyn but one of the main reasons I think after all the reporting and hot takes
13:06we saw around Shador Sanders that he did in fact slide is because of how he went through the draft
13:11process he didn't work out in front of the draft and talent evaluators only really held his pro day
13:17and people described it like a party not exactly a football atmosphere in Boulder you got to play the
13:23game even if you don't want to to show off your talent in the right spots even if you think your game
13:29and your talent speaks for itself it's interesting to me to say the least drafting sixth overall DRS
13:37is the Washington Wizards and that is the spot where Ace Bailey at a plus 260 price is the favorite but
13:43again he's minus money to go top five but is only favored to go sixth overall Jeremiah Fears the talented
13:49freshman from Oklahoma is both the favorite to go seventh and eighth overall another big from Duke
13:55come on now to watch the ninth uh overall pick is favored there and as we shared the 10th overall
14:01pick will be made by the Houston Rockets but for the Phoenix Suns the talented freshman from Maryland
14:07Derek Queen is a plus 550 favorite yeah we'll see where it goes out but again your point is right there
14:13like it's a draft it's not like you get to pick your team here and also if you're a team like let's
14:17just say the Philadelphia 76ers that once you heard where they're going to draft oh that's Ace Bailey
14:21and said well that doesn't mean we're not going to draft him even if it doesn't work out
14:24the last thing you want is an 18 year old kid upset and his own people giving advice going
14:28just go in there make it so miserable to have to move you it's going to be a wild scenario
14:33that plays out on Wednesday I think it is only the top three a minus money price
