00:00The carnivore diet, described by the originator of the diet, Sean Baker, as enjoying a wide
00:06variety of proteins and protein by-products, from chicken wings and ribeyes, to heart and
00:12liver meats, all the way to more common foods like eggs, bacon and butter.
00:17As HuffPost reports, Baker's success stories range from the benign to the bizarre, and
00:23then to the outright dangerous, and most commonly show significant transformation of weight
00:28with details of the drastic ups and downs of this restrictive eating plan.
00:33Registered dietitian Sue Ellen Anderson-Haynes says there's no benefit to this diet.
00:39Here's perhaps why.
00:41First of all, meat contains no fiber, so being an exclusive meat-eater can cause two weeks
00:47of rocket fuel coming out of your booty hole.
00:50Thanks for the visual, Joe Rogan.
00:52Getting shredded is also a red flag tempting the vulnerable into a carnivore diet, but according
00:57to McKenna Welchens, a registered sports dietitian, restriction builds tension within us that
01:03quite often rebounds into episodes of giving in and binging on the formerly forbidden food.
01:09Avoiding restriction in the first place and striving for that flexibility prevents tension that creates
01:15extremes in our eating habits.
