00:15Newly minted PNP Chief Nicholas Torre III in his official assumption of the police leadership said,
00:22Among others, he would initiate a five-minute response time action policy on all police calls for service or assistance.
00:32He sure wasn't talking tongue-in-cheek or paying lip service to his commander-in-chief and all others when he was sworn into office.
00:40Today, he relieved eight police officers in the NCRPO for failure to walk his talk on the five-minute response time order.
00:48Among them, the police chiefs of Caloocan, Makati, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Navotas, Paranaque, San Juan, and Valenzuela.
00:59Torre says he has no problem putting slow-moving officers in his doghouse because there are many that can...
01:07Because there are many he can find to put in place of those under temporary relief.
01:19Over the weekend, Torre paid a visit to the Region 6 PNP headquarters where he personally delivered the message
01:27that the five-minute response time action must be complied with at all times.
01:32Thus, the police chiefs in the megacity have no option but to step up their game and hold themselves into greater account.
01:42On the second day of what Minnesota's law enforcement says was the largest manhunt in state history,
01:50Vance Belter, 57, and chief suspect in the slay of top state Democrat Melissa Hortman and her spouse over the weekend,
01:58gave himself up to authorities, ending a chase of a little over 24 hours.
02:05Based on the latest law enforcement and state government presser at 11 p.m. Sunday or 2 p.m. Monday Philippine time,
02:13Vance Belter was located and nabbed in a wooded area close to where he lives.
02:18An eyewitness swore he saw Belter running into the woods shortly before nightfall.
02:23Authorities used infrared light to zero in on his location even as drones and police helicopters scoured the woods from above to hopefully flush him out into the open.
02:35Belter crawled out from whence he hid after his name was repeatedly called out, giving himself up without resistance or struggle.
02:44He has since been charged with two counts of second-degree murder for the fatal shooting of Melissa Hortman and her husband
02:51and two counts of attempted murder in the second degree for the shooting of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife,
03:00both of whom survived and are recovering at a nearby hospital.
03:04Belter drove a fake police squad car and wore a fake police uniform
03:09when he knocked on the front doors of Melissa Hortman and John Hoffman's home.
03:17Researchers in the state of Maryland are using AI technology to better diagnose and treat serious medical illnesses and or disorders.

03:41They can now create a personalized digital model of a patient's heart, a digital twin,
03:46and use artificial intelligence to help better predict who is most at risk.
03:50We do contrast-enhanced MRI of the heart, and then we combine that contrast-enhanced MRI
03:57with all the clinical data that's known for the patient.
04:01This is combined with survival analysis, and we can tell over 10 years
04:05what is the risk of a patient of having sudden cardiac death.
04:10Unlike segmented images most often used today,
04:13Professor Natalia Trejanova says whole images of the heart produce more accurate predictions
04:18of which patients need defibrillators.
04:20We provide these deep-learning algorithms that are multimodality.
04:26They represent the patient's condition much better.
04:28At the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins,
04:32Dr. Victor Velkulski is leading research into developing new ways
04:36of detecting early-stage lung and other cancers.
04:39He and his team observe that cancer cells grow and replicate more chaotically than normal cells.
04:44So when those cells die, they leave behind tell-tale characteristics of fragments of DNA
04:49circulating in the blood called cell-free DNA, which carries clues about whether a person may have cancer.
04:56The team developed a technology called Delphi, which uses novel machine learning algorithms
05:01to analyze fragments of that cell-free DNA.
05:04We look in the blood, we identify molecules of DNA called cell-free DNA,
05:09and we look for the profile or the patterns of this cell-free DNA as a way to identify those individuals who have cancer versus those that don't.
