00:00:00With a change, the first 16 games of the playoffs, they had the same starting five, but they took Isaiah Hartenstein out, Kaysen Wallace in.
00:00:07It's back to Hartenstein in a starting lineup for OKC.
00:00:12Meanwhile, for the Indiana Pacers, they played 19 games, now number 20, same starting five, and their starting five has been terrific.
00:00:22So an interesting change. It was interesting when we started the finals.
00:00:25When Mark Dignall changed his starting lineup, Doris, now he's going back. What are your thoughts?
00:00:30Listen, I'm not going to hold it against him that an hour ago when I said, would we see more double big?
00:00:34He said, absolutely, but he didn't give away the starting lineup change, Richard.
00:00:38No, I was very surprised that he switched it. You see, 19 starting, 19 games, the same starting lineup for Indiana.
00:00:46Normally you go with what got you there. That was a big surprise in game one. I'm not surprised to see it back.
00:00:51He has changed his starting lineup frequently throughout the regular season, but it was the first one in the playoffs.
00:00:57Hartenstein clearly has been one of the impact players for OKC.
00:01:02We'll see how that turns out for the Thunders. They try to even up this series.
00:01:07Thunder just four and four on the road in the playoffs.
00:01:11Clearly the best team in basketball all season, but on the road in the playoffs, they've had some ups and downs.
00:01:17Many of those ups, though, were in responses to losses, as they have not lost consecutive playoff games yet.
00:01:27There's Lou Dorton. Attacks the rim in a quick bucket.
00:01:30And I love that by Lou Dorton. He has shot the ball so well.
00:01:33He knows he's going to get pressure on his three shot.
00:01:36So the first thing he does, drive it straight down the lane for an easy lead.
00:01:40And the second thing he does is pressure Halliburton.
00:01:43Meanwhile, Nimhard gets it.
00:01:44Turner turns, shoots, and can't get it to fall.
00:01:49Holmgren with the rebound.
00:01:52Oklahoma City has had the lead after the first quarter in all three games as Holmgren knocks down his first shot.
00:01:58Well, the double big, and who is their best screener?
00:02:01It's the other big, Hartenstein, so you get him back on the floor.
00:02:05Hartenstein also an excellent defender.
00:02:08Siakam has a clean look.
00:02:10Gets that to go.
00:02:11Boy, he is shooting lights out from three-point range.
00:02:14Forty-five percent during these playoffs.
00:02:18But look, we're finally talking about the Indiana defense.
00:02:21Hartenstein on the floor helps relieve some of that pressure.
00:02:27Nimhard comes up with a loose ball.
00:02:29OKC struggle with turnovers themselves in game three.
00:02:33Siakam kicks it out.
00:02:34Extra pass.
00:02:35Halliburton.
00:02:37Deismith.
00:02:38Nobody near him.
00:02:40Back-to-back threes for the Pacers.
00:02:43They have played with quick touches on the offensive end.
00:02:47It's touch and go, and here comes the pressure again, Richard.
00:02:51They've been the best three-point shooting team in the playoffs,
00:02:54but that was not the case in game three.
00:02:56Only shot 33%.
00:02:58Shot clock at seven.
00:02:59Gildas Alexander.
00:03:01His jumper misses.
00:03:01Hartenstein the rebound.
00:03:05SGA gets in the paint again.
00:03:06This one goes down.
00:03:07But that's also Hartenstein.
00:03:09He's setting a screen at the half court to relieve the pressure.
00:03:12He gets the offensive rebound and gives you a second opportunity.
00:03:18Werner wads it in.
00:03:19Nice entry pass.
00:03:20And an excellent finish in traffic by Siakam.
00:03:23Boy, if they get to that play often,
00:03:25and Pascal takes advantage of those matchups, look out.
00:03:29They were going after Shea right there.
00:03:31That's a post-up.
00:03:32Shea's got to do a better job giving more pressure.
00:03:36Nimhard putting pressure on Gildas Alexander.
00:03:38He's done an excellent job on him.
00:03:41Gabriel Williams misses his three.
00:03:42Nimhard back up top.
00:03:50Way outside is good from Halliburton.
00:03:53That's a couple of feet inside half court.
00:04:00Williams going coast to coast.
00:04:02And his foul.
00:04:03The Holmgren follow won't count.
00:04:04Williams will shoot two.
00:04:08Tyree Halliburton was in the next zip code.
00:04:11I mean, the ball pops with this team when they are at their best.
00:04:15Look at the range on that three by Halle.
00:04:18He looked comfortable as game.
00:04:20He starts out shooting the ball well here.
00:04:22Well, one of the things with teams like this is you're always looking to go from good to great.
00:04:27Well, with this team, good shot.
00:04:29It might be the best shot.
00:04:30An okay shot might be the best shot.
00:04:33And right there, that's a good shot from that distance.
00:04:36Jalen Williams with the free throws going off a 26-point game three.
00:04:41He got to the free throw line 11 times in game three.
00:04:45You see he missed four of them, but an excellent performance.
00:04:48He was talking about bouncing back after the loss down 2-1.
00:04:52He says, don't panic.
00:04:53It's okay to be uncomfortable.
00:04:54It's not fun, but it's part of the process.
00:04:57And they've seen that second-round Denver came back with one after trailing 2-1.
00:05:03Turner, who's been under the weather the last several days, but obviously out in the starting lineup,
00:05:08takes a three, puts it on the floor.
00:05:11Jump shot.
00:05:12No good, but a foul.
00:05:13Hartenstein.
00:05:18So first free throws for Indiana.
00:05:20And I think normally, when you watch this OKC team, they're stretched out a little bit earlier right now.
00:05:30Right now, you have three for three for Indiana for the three-point line.
00:05:34That makes you have to extend.
00:05:35That makes those drives a little bit easier.
00:05:37The gap's a little bit wider because you're afraid to leave three-point shooters.
00:05:42Turner, as I said, wasn't feeling well and did not shoot well in game three.
00:05:46But he certainly defended well, had five block shots in the game.
00:05:50That's the maturity of somebody who's been in the league for a decade, Mike.
00:05:53You put the poor performance in the first three quarters behind you, and you keep playing.
00:06:00Coaches always love to say that.
00:06:02You don't have to shoot well to play well.
00:06:05As Jalen Williams brings it up, Holmgren.
00:06:07Attacks inside.
00:06:08Got tripped up.
00:06:09Goes down hard.
00:06:10Inadvert and trip by Siakam.
00:06:11Yeah, Holmgren's hurting, holding that left foot right now.
00:06:27Ooh.
00:06:28Wow.
00:06:29And it wasn't hitting the foot on Siakam.
00:06:31He just turned his ankle.
00:06:33And even then, oh, no, it did hit his foot.
00:06:36From that other angle, you couldn't see.
00:06:39But this is where people have to understand.
00:06:40The more games you play, the further you go into the postseason, these ankle little tweaks
00:06:46falling on the ground as hard as you.
00:06:48All of that stuff adds up.
00:06:50That's why the toughest players typically go the furthest and win the most championships
00:06:55because they're able to play through all of these things.
00:06:57That left side of the ankle nearly hit the floor.
00:07:00That was a hard turn there.
00:07:02Mike, what happens when you're this young?
00:07:04What happens, Mike?
00:07:05You bleed, and the wound closes.
00:07:07Closes very quickly in real time.
00:07:09In real time.
00:07:11Well, he's got a slight limp as he goes up the floor.
00:07:13You know, he's tall and thin, but he has got a lot of grit and toughness.
00:07:20Imard to Turner.
00:07:22Siakam lines up his three-pointer.
00:07:24In and out, hungering the rebound.
00:07:26He gave him the Cornette contest out there, Hartstein.
00:07:30That's the Luke Cornette contest where, even though he's not next to the player,
00:07:34he jumps up to contest it, a bit of a distraction.
00:07:38As Williams pulls up, left elbow, jumper won't go.
00:07:40Lee Smith grabs that rebound.
00:07:47Imard guarded by Dort on this possession.
00:07:49Oliverton directing the offense.
00:07:56Turner, wide open foul line.
00:07:58Nice, soft touch.
00:07:59Mike, one of the things they started in Game 3 was getting either Pascal or Turner to the nail.
00:08:06And that allows Tyrese to get off it, and they'll play off that moment.
00:08:11Lee Smith playing physical on Williams.
00:08:12Williams draws yet another foul.
00:08:14Lee Smith doesn't like the call, but it looked like there was contact,
00:08:20and Jay Lewis was right back to the free-throw line.
00:08:24Yeah, I'm not a big fan of this foul, and this is why.
00:08:28I'm not saying that you couldn't make this call.
00:08:31He does send him off his path.
00:08:33That's what the referees are saying.
00:08:34But these are the type of things that they're marginal.
00:08:37For the rest of the game, you're establishing what's going to be called.
00:08:40I mean, I thought it was a foul because he walked up into his chest and knocked him off balance.
00:08:47It delights me to say I disagree with you, Richard.
00:08:50It's kind of an A to B.
00:08:52He's off his path, and the balance is affected.
00:08:54Again, I stand by him.
00:08:56Players are just getting to know each other right now, just saying hello.
00:08:59That's all it is.
00:08:59And in your era, let's be real.
00:09:02That's nothing.
00:09:03Oh, that's not a foul at all.
00:09:05The referees would give you a technical if you complained about that.
00:09:07That was, that wasn't a foul in the previous round.
00:09:11No.
00:09:11As Alliburton brings it up the floor.
00:09:13Three-point pace to lead.
00:09:14Alliburton can't get it.
00:09:15Oh, Turner.
00:09:16Took it away from Hartenstein on the foul.
00:09:19Good start for Miles Turner.
00:09:21Six early points.
00:09:24Alex Caruso.
00:09:26Builders Alexander going back door, but Nimar saw it coming.
00:09:30Double-team.
00:09:31Trying to draw a foul.
00:09:32Well defended.
00:09:34Ben Shepard's also in now for Indiana.
00:09:37I know it's early, but this first quarter looks intense for Indiana.
00:09:43Nimar up top.
00:09:47Alliburton.
00:09:48Very aggressive early.
00:09:49Siakam.
00:09:50With defense from Hartenstein.
00:09:52Siakam tries again.
00:09:54Corner three.
00:09:55Nimar from downtown.
00:09:57They've hit four threes already.
00:09:58You know KC needs timeout.
00:10:00This was the concern if you were OKC.
00:10:10Would Indiana come out with a barrage of three-pointers and defense?
00:10:16But the second effort.
00:10:18We showed an offensive rebound in the open.
00:10:21Indiana bringing that juice early.
00:10:29Tonight's access brought to you by Visible.
00:10:33You OK?
00:10:39You sure?
00:10:41Come on, man.
00:10:41We need you.
00:10:42Get up.
00:10:43Shot, boy.
00:10:44You all right?
00:10:45Let's get it.
00:10:47Compassion in the first part.
00:10:48We need you.
00:10:49Not so much get up.
00:10:51Well, no.
00:10:51That's what you got to tell him.
00:10:52That's a leader right there.
00:10:53Hey, if you're thinking about this is too sore, it's not sore right now.
00:10:57You can be sore tomorrow.
00:10:58You can be sore when you're dead.
00:10:59It's the finals.
00:11:01Gildas Alexander out to Dort.
00:11:03I'll be topping his come on.
00:11:06Caruso, nice move inside and knocks it down.
00:11:10Pacers surrounding him and Caruso banks it home.
00:11:13Now a chance for a three-point play.
00:11:16Let's watch Alex Caruso.
00:11:18Caruso gets a screen from Dort, then tries to cross the body of Halliburton,
00:11:23who's really fought on the defensive end all series.
00:11:26But that time, Alex Caruso goes through them and gets the end one.
00:11:31Now on Halliburton.
00:11:35Caruso knocks that down.
00:11:37Caruso had eight points, five boards, four assists, two steals,
00:11:41a little bit of everything in game three.
00:11:43Of course, had that 20-point game in game two.
00:11:47The Pacer lead cut to five.
00:11:49Nimhart to Toppin.
00:11:51Obi Toppin.
00:11:52Nice floater.
00:11:54Boy, Toppin has played well in these finals.
00:11:56And I really like Obi Toppin also as a roller.
00:11:59Yes, he can shoot threes.
00:12:00He's not had some big moments from three.
00:12:02But his athleticism hasn't been on display.
00:12:05Second turnover for OKC.
00:12:10Halliburton back to Toppin.
00:12:12Thoulline jumper.
00:12:14They're nine for 12 from the field.
00:12:16Mike, the ball is moving so quickly.
00:12:21And it's out of people's hands before OKC's pressure can get up into them.
00:12:26The doors, eight assists on the nine field goals.
00:12:29Jayla Williams comes right back and banks that home for his first field goal.
00:12:35Pacers push.
00:12:36And there's their first turnover.
00:12:44And Obi Toppin's one of those players.
00:12:46He's so versatile.
00:12:47He can step out, shoot three.
00:12:49You don't want to see him at the rim.
00:12:50But I love the skill.
00:12:52I love the touch.
00:12:53This is a far more difficult shot than people understand.
00:12:55To stand still, catch, and then shoot a little set shot right there from 17 feet.
00:13:01Those are the little things that he can do that brings a different dimension as a big.
00:13:05Part of that terrific pacer bench.
00:13:08We've talked throughout these playoffs.
00:13:10Both teams have excellent depth.
00:13:14Jayla Williams left-handed.
00:13:15He loves that shot.
00:13:20Early eight points in the first six and a half minutes for Jayla Williams.
00:13:25Turner, trying to get rid of it.
00:13:32Nimhart with seven to shoot.
00:13:35Using the Turner screen.
00:13:37Nimhart trying to find an opening.
00:13:39Good defense that time from OKC to force the turnover.
00:13:42Holmgren off the bounce.
00:13:43Goes right inside.
00:13:44Knocked out of his hands.
00:13:45Still Thunderball.
00:13:46But I love that defensive possession.
00:13:48Lou Dort was intent on not letting Tyrese Halliburton touch the basketball once it crossed half court.
00:13:55And you hear that cheer.
00:13:57Every team, the fan base, has a fan favorite.
00:14:00TJ McConnell.
00:14:02He is such a huge, beloved player here in Indiana.
00:14:06And he has had some great games, including five steals, five assists off the bench the other night.
00:14:12As Jayla Williams scores yet another foul.
00:14:15I don't think they're going to say it's in the act of shooting.
00:14:22But they're in the penalty.
00:14:24So he's going to go shoot the free throws.
00:14:26There's McConnell's numbers.
00:14:27That's the first time in NBA Finals history that a player had five assists and five steals off the bench.
00:14:33Well, and again, the impact.
00:14:35It was the type of steals.
00:14:37He was, his team was scoring, and then he was getting another possession off the inbound.
00:14:42I don't think I've ever seen that in a game.
00:14:44Three of the five steals were in the backcourt.
00:14:46And you saw Benedict Matherin had one of the great scoring games off the bench in Finals history.
00:14:53Top and Shepard, they all contributed, Doris.
00:14:55Matherin's ability in that fourth quarter to have a tremendous start.
00:14:59They were down five.
00:15:00Halliburton was on the bench, and his electric scoring sustained them when Halley was off the floor.
00:15:10They're a perfect nine for nine from the free throw line.
00:15:13McConnell will bring it up.
00:15:17Matherin, Toppin.
00:15:20Toppin goes inside.
00:15:21Scoop layup off the glass.
00:15:23Won't go.
00:15:23Fight for the rebound.
00:15:24Holmgren.
00:15:26Aaron Wiggins, part of the Thunder Bench that's been so effective.
00:15:30Had that great game, too.
00:15:33Luke Dort.
00:15:35His three-pointers good.
00:15:36Dort is now 11 of 18 from three in the Finals, and that's nine straight points by the Thunder.
00:15:43They've tied it up.
00:15:44He's been absolutely on fire.
00:15:47Watch the arc of this three-point shot.
00:15:51Early on in his career, it was something the teams left him wide open with.
00:15:55Two seasons in a row of 40% shooting.
00:15:58Bring the rain down, Mr. Dort.
00:16:00Tonight's power forward brought to you by Nissan.
00:16:10Doris.
00:16:10Starting to get the feeling if Indiana could have checked Shea on the off day they might have
00:16:14because they're picking up exactly where they did in game three.
00:16:18All-out pressure, 94 feet.
00:16:21And they're getting backside help that time on the sink in by Pascal Siakam.
00:16:24And I want you to consider this.
00:16:26Nembhard is doing yeoman's work.
00:16:28Shea has played nine straight games the entire first quarter.
00:16:33Guess who is getting a rest early here tonight?
00:16:35Shea Gilgis-Alexander.
00:16:38Interesting substitution patterns here game four.
00:16:40T.J. McConnell trying the left hand.
00:16:42A little fancy there.
00:16:43Wouldn't go down.
00:16:44Dort brings it up the floor.
00:16:46Lost the dribble.
00:16:46Matherin attacking again.
00:16:52Jenny Williams grabs it but also grabs a hold of Matherin.
00:16:56And Williams will pick up his first foul.
00:17:01I love the aggression.
00:17:03Again, that was a simple mistake by OKC.
00:17:05And that is the biggest mistake that you can make against this Indiana Pacer team.
00:17:10Because when you get Pascal, when you get Matherin,
00:17:12and you see a DMP in the first quarter,
00:17:15but boy, those next three, he made them count, D.D.
00:17:19Well, Matherin, 27 points off the bench.
00:17:23One of the great scoring games off the bench in finals history.
00:17:26Did it, of course, for Rick Carlisle.
00:17:28Another one of the great scoring benches
00:17:30or scoring games off the bench in finals history
00:17:32was Jason Terry, 2011, for the Dallas Mavericks,
00:17:36coached by Rick Carlisle.
00:17:37Well, Arizona has had a player in the NBA Finals for 11 straight years.
00:17:42And, you know, there is a legacy there
00:17:45that I think a lot of Arizona players,
00:17:47and shout out T.J. McConnell also.
00:17:53Well, I'm glad we got that out of the way, Rick.
00:17:55We got it out of the way.
00:17:57Howdy, I see you.
00:17:58See you, I see you.
00:17:58Another turnover goes inside.
00:18:00Layup is no good, but a foul.
00:18:02Four turnovers for OKC.
00:18:12They're pushing back and forth, and he's doing a little extra.
00:18:15But Lou Dort told us in his meeting,
00:18:17the minute a player goes and complains to the official,
00:18:20I believe I've got him.
00:18:22I've got him frustrated.
00:18:23I've got him a little rattled.
00:18:24I don't think a foul's ever been called there.
00:18:26So if I'm Tyrese, I'm just being a little smart.
00:18:28It just has to be an awful experience
00:18:32being guarded by Lou Dort.
00:18:34You've never met Ron Artest, Mike.
00:18:38You've never met Ron Artest.
00:18:39Oh, I've met him.
00:18:39I've never been guarded by him.
00:18:41We'll see.
00:18:41Occam misses.
00:18:42Time for tonight's national TV schedule.
00:18:44Brought to you by ESPN Bet,
00:18:45the official sportsbook of ESPN.
00:18:47ABC Saturday, Liberty and the Fever,
00:18:50three Eastern time.
00:18:51Caitlin Clark's supposed to return.
00:18:53ABC Monday, game five from Oklahoma City.
00:18:56Tip-off shortly after 8.30.
00:18:57Now, if there is a game six,
00:18:59it'll be next Thursday right back here in Indianapolis.
00:19:02Caitlin Clark here at the game like she was the other night
00:19:05and expected to be in uniform tomorrow afternoon.
00:19:09This is the most points the Pacers have scored
00:19:12in the first quarter in the finals
00:19:13and there's still over three and a half minutes remaining.
00:19:21Wiggins, that's a tough shot.
00:19:23Well defended again.
00:19:24Yeah, this is where Halliburton's improvement defensively
00:19:27and he said his teammates called him out.
00:19:29They had to be better.
00:19:30He has been competing.
00:19:33Halliburton's step back, three-pointers up,
00:19:35shot no good.
00:19:38Jalen Williams snatches that rebound.
00:19:39All teams, though, shooting well.
00:19:4460%, 58%, Williams misses that.
00:19:47Gets his own miss, goes right back up,
00:19:48but backs at home.
00:19:50Relentless pursuit that time from Jalen Williams.
00:19:52Matherin has it deflected.
00:20:01Good hands from Wiggins.
00:20:03Three turnovers for Indiana.
00:20:06Williams dribbling in traffic.
00:20:09Siakam barrels into Dort.
00:20:11A whistle and a foul.
00:20:15Going to be a blocking foul.
00:20:16Dort hoping to get the charge.
00:20:18That's his first.
00:20:19Pascal is such a problem when he gets out and transitions.
00:20:24This is a couple of turnovers handling the basketball by Jalen Williams.
00:20:29And then all of a sudden,
00:20:30you get one of the more dangerous transition players in the league
00:20:32out with a three-on-one opportunity.
00:20:34Siakam, an aggressive start.
00:20:39Six points, two rebounds.
00:20:40He's got four steals already.
00:20:43When you think about it,
00:20:45Pascal Siakam here.
00:20:46He's the leading scorer
00:20:48and the leading rebounder
00:20:50on an NBA Finals team
00:20:52that's two wins away from a title.
00:20:54He's just, he's that star player
00:20:55that goes under the radar for some reason.
00:20:58Yeah, he does all the little things.
00:21:00But I just love his growth.
00:21:02You know, you look at when he came into the league.
00:21:03Mike, you mentioned it the other game.
00:21:05He averaged four points a game.
00:21:07And then he just continues to work,
00:21:09continues to build.
00:21:10And then again, the success will come off of that.
00:21:13Growing up in Cameroon,
00:21:14didn't play a lot of basketball.
00:21:15Didn't start playing host until he was about 17.
00:21:19He gives the Pacers a three-point lead.
00:21:20He's got eight points, four steals.
00:21:23Under three to play.
00:21:25Opening quarter.
00:21:29Andre.
00:21:30Tough fallaway shot.
00:21:32Mason Wallace tried to hold on,
00:21:36but knocked out of bounds.
00:21:38Indiana ball.
00:21:39Pacers shooting 60% from the field.
00:21:47Alliburton, McConnell, top and three.
00:21:50Okay, see, once again,
00:22:00more turnovers than Indiana.
00:22:02It's rare that's happened,
00:22:03that they've had more turnovers than their opponent.
00:22:06Williams again gets inside.
00:22:07Double-teamed.
00:22:08Mason Wallace to floater.
00:22:14All right, final two minutes of this first girl quarter.
00:22:16Who's going to come out with the momentum?
00:22:19They always talk about ending quarters.
00:22:21Siakam ends that play with a flourish.
00:22:25That's twice so.
00:22:27The post player at the free throw line.
00:22:30Great patience to take the right angle on the entry.
00:22:34Wallace got lucky that time.
00:22:36Caruso was open.
00:22:37Caruso, little Eurostep.
00:22:38And a nice left hand from Alex Caruso.
00:22:43He's got five points off the bench.
00:22:47You know, if you weren't looking at the scoreboard,
00:22:49you'd think Indiana would be up big.
00:22:51It's only a three-point lead.
00:22:56Siakam jumper.
00:22:57Not that time.
00:22:59And Shea is coming in at the same time Hardenstein is.
00:23:02And so when you look at that,
00:23:03you're also bringing in your best screener
00:23:05to help get pressure off of Shea at the same time.
00:23:08Wiggins misses a three.
00:23:10Alliburton poked away from behind by Caruso.
00:23:12Releases the other way.
00:23:13Siakam in pursuit.
00:23:15Still a layup.
00:23:16And that's the heart of the OKC defense,
00:23:19forcing turnovers and getting buckets.
00:23:22Rick Carlisle upset.
00:23:23He wanted a foul.
00:23:24He calls timeout.
00:23:25We expected the full force of this Oklahoma City defense.
00:23:30That is Alex Caruso at his best.
00:23:32The tip steal out to transition.
00:23:35And AC's been in the finals before.
00:23:37Nice finish.
00:23:37NBA draft less than two weeks away
00:23:49from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
00:23:51The two-night affair kicks off
00:23:52with the first round on Wednesday,
00:23:54the 25th on ABC, ESPN, ESPN the fourth day.
00:23:57Second round the next night on ESPN.
00:23:58Coverage begins at 8 Eastern, 5 Pacific on both nights.
00:24:02How about Pascal Siakam?
00:24:04The four steals.
00:24:06Last player to have four steals in a quarter
00:24:08in a finals game was 11 years ago.
00:24:10LeBron James with the Miami Heat.
00:24:15D.J. McConnell searching.
00:24:17Jump shot.
00:24:18Got it to go.
00:24:20First field goal for McConnell.
00:24:21Pacers back up three.
00:24:31Isaiah Joe has come on for OKC
00:24:33as has Kendrick Williams.
00:24:35Guiltus Alexander loves that elbow jumper.
00:24:37And that's his second field goal.
00:24:44And the defense has been aggressive,
00:24:46but the shooting has been excellent.
00:24:48Both teams over 55%.
00:24:50McConnell against Isaiah Joe gets inside.
00:24:56Try to force it up.
00:24:57Whistle and a foul.
00:24:58Yes, Nembhard has done a solid job of frustrating.
00:25:06Look, always has his hands on him.
00:25:09Making him work.
00:25:11And then that pull-up.
00:25:12That's the difficult part about stopping Shea.
00:25:14He just wants to get a stop.
00:25:15And T.J. McConnell,
00:25:16he just feels like he has an intensity advantage.
00:25:20He's out there playing like he is a star player,
00:25:22like he is a priority.
00:25:24He said before the last game,
00:25:26it was our intention all game
00:25:28to get downhill and touch the paint,
00:25:30something they had not done
00:25:32through the first couple of games.
00:25:34Well, he specializes in intensity,
00:25:36as you said.
00:25:37But he's so much more than energy and hustle.
00:25:39He's skilled.
00:25:40He's savvy.
00:25:41He's tough.
00:25:42He comes on the floor.
00:25:43He changes the tone of the game.
00:25:47We've had 19 free throw attempts
00:25:49here in the first quarter combined.
00:25:52Turner knocks it out of bounds.
00:25:54Still OKC ball.
00:25:55Shot clock's turned off.
00:25:58No fouls to give here for Indiana.
00:26:04Nembhard.
00:26:05Full court pressure.
00:26:06Now they back off a little bit.
00:26:11SGA pulls back,
00:26:12puts up a three.
00:26:13Won't go.
00:26:14Williams on the follow
00:26:15with eight-tenths of a second remaining.
00:26:18Kendricks Williams,
00:26:18big offensive rebound.
00:26:20And that will end a high-scoring
00:26:23first period.
00:26:2535-34.
00:26:27Good shooting for both teams
00:26:28after one here in game four.
00:26:36Welcome back to the NBA Finals
00:26:38presented by YouTube TV.
00:26:39We're here with Jalen Williams
00:26:40of the OKC Thunder.
00:26:42Jalen, you're in attack mode early here.
00:26:44What's been working for you offensively?
00:26:46Just trying to be aggressive.
00:26:47Any little gap I can get into,
00:26:49I'm going to try and get in there
00:26:50and then be able to create
00:26:50for my teammates, too.
00:26:52Siakam has had a major impact
00:26:54on both ends of the floor.
00:26:55How do you try to slow him down?
00:26:57Be aggressive.
00:26:58Be physical.
00:26:59Longhand.
00:27:00Jalen, good luck.
00:27:01Guys, back to you.
00:27:02All right, George.
00:27:04Matherin.
00:27:05His first field goal.
00:27:06Five points out of
00:27:07a couple of free throws
00:27:08to bench already
00:27:09with 13 points again.
00:27:14Hilda's Alexander
00:27:15one-on-one.
00:27:16Nimar's jump shot is good.
00:27:19Yeah, but a couple of things, Mike.
00:27:21The early substitution
00:27:22and then Jalen Williams
00:27:25bringing the ball up
00:27:26a ton in the first.
00:27:27You're trying to preserve
00:27:28Shea enough
00:27:29so you got him late.
00:27:31Nimar tries,
00:27:32can't get out of the ball.
00:27:33You know, Mark Dignall doors.
00:27:35He's not afraid
00:27:36to change things up.
00:27:37He's doing it
00:27:37during the regular season.
00:27:38He's done it
00:27:39during the playoffs.
00:27:42Joe up top, Williams.
00:27:46Nimar stays in front.
00:27:48Hilda's Alexander
00:27:49stays committed
00:27:50and lays it up and in.
00:27:52He just seems
00:27:56he casually gets
00:27:57to where he wants to go.
00:27:58Yeah, his handle
00:27:59is very unarrated.
00:28:01But just a little
00:28:02miscommunication right there.
00:28:04And TJ McConnell,
00:28:05the minute you lose focus,
00:28:07he makes you pay
00:28:08with his intensities
00:28:09because he's playing
00:28:10at 100% at all times.
00:28:13More points
00:28:13from the Pacer bench.
00:28:15Mason Wallace
00:28:16can't get it.
00:28:16Miles Turner can.
00:28:18And here comes McConnell.
00:28:19McConnell once again
00:28:25and draws the foul.
00:28:28So one of the things
00:28:29TJ does so well
00:28:30is go north to south
00:28:32at a high speed.
00:28:33He's not messing around.
00:28:35He just decides,
00:28:36I've got enough space.
00:28:37I am looking to get
00:28:38to the cup.
00:28:39He excels,
00:28:40get into that 10,
00:28:4112 foot.
00:28:42There was a stretch
00:28:43earlier in this season.
00:28:44He was struggling
00:28:45because his ankles
00:28:46were bothering him.
00:28:47And once he got healthy,
00:28:48he became the guy
00:28:49we know him to be.
00:28:51Saw that in the playoffs
00:28:52last year.
00:28:52We're seeing it this year.
00:28:54The playoffs last year
00:28:55got him a $45 million contract.
00:28:58Undrafted.
00:28:59Siakam misses that.
00:29:00Alexander,
00:29:01Douglas Alexander,
00:29:02the rebound.
00:29:03And that right there,
00:29:04they went into zone OKC.
00:29:06They might be,
00:29:07they might struggle
00:29:08to guard that movement
00:29:09as great as their defense is.
00:29:11Enrich Williams
00:29:13off the dribble,
00:29:14jump shot too strong,
00:29:15gets his own rebound.
00:29:17They'll reset.
00:29:19Holmgren,
00:29:20poked out of bounds
00:29:21by Matherin.
00:29:27Reggie Miller,
00:29:28I bet he wants to walk out
00:29:29and take a shot right now,
00:29:30don't you think?
00:29:31Yeah, I don't think
00:29:31that competitiveness
00:29:32has ever left Reggie.
00:29:35Ball knocked away
00:29:36from behind.
00:29:38And a foul
00:29:38before any shot attempt.
00:29:40Nimhard's gonna pick up
00:29:41the second.
00:29:42Again,
00:29:42Nimhard and Gildas Alexander
00:29:44grew up together
00:29:45in Canada.
00:29:48Teammates on the national team,
00:29:49but they've known each other
00:29:50since they were little kids,
00:29:51played against each other
00:29:52seven and nine.
00:29:53Nimhard is,
00:29:53there's no intimidation
00:29:55whatsoever
00:29:55in guarding the MVP.
00:29:58If anything,
00:29:58I think he wants
00:29:59Bragging Rice
00:30:00to shut down the MVP
00:30:01and go back to Canada
00:30:03as an NBA champion.
00:30:06And there they are,
00:30:08Matherin,
00:30:09Nimhard,
00:30:09Gildas Alexander
00:30:10and Dort.
00:30:11That's a pretty good
00:30:12T.O.
00:30:13Oh, and there's more.
00:30:14You got Jamal Murray.
00:30:15You got so many more players.
00:30:16R.J. Barrett,
00:30:18Siakam with the block.
00:30:26Nimhard knocked away.
00:30:28Good hands at time
00:30:29for Isaiah Joe.
00:30:29Five turnovers.
00:30:31Joe runs to the corner.
00:30:33Three-pointer.
00:30:33Can't get it.
00:30:34Holmgren.
00:30:35Blocked by Turner,
00:30:36but a foul.
00:30:38All ball, he says.
00:30:40But Holmgren will walk
00:30:41to the free throw line.
00:30:44Turner's first.
00:30:45Well, think about the blocks
00:30:51Turner had to preserve
00:30:52the last game.
00:30:55I don't know about this.
00:30:58I don't love that.
00:30:59I got to be honest with you.
00:31:00And I think the entire crowd
00:31:02agrees with you, Doris.
00:31:04I think the entire crowd does.
00:31:05And they're very objective.
00:31:07Never buy it.
00:31:08Toppin and Shepard
00:31:10will both come in.
00:31:12More free throws
00:31:13from Oklahoma City.
00:31:14They're 10 for 10.
00:31:15We'll see tomorrow.
00:31:16Stars take the court
00:31:16for the first time.
00:31:17NBA Summer League.
00:31:19July 10th through the 20th
00:31:21on ESPN and NBA TV.
00:31:26Holmgren had that great start
00:31:28in Game 3.
00:31:3013 points in the first.
00:31:33He's got 6.6 boards here.
00:31:35We're tied at 40.
00:31:38OKC back in that zone again.
00:31:42Middle of the floor, open.
00:31:45McConnell had a wide open shot.
00:31:46Offensive rebound.
00:31:47And Shepard knocks it down.
00:31:49Neesmith with a big offensive board.
00:31:53Pacers 6 of 12 from 3.
00:31:58Gildas Alexander pulls up.
00:32:00Jump shot is good.
00:32:02He's in double figures.
00:32:08Turner has Wallace on him.
00:32:13Height advantage.
00:32:14Foul on the entry pass.
00:32:16Be the second team foul.
00:32:18And the first on Wallace.
00:32:20Well, this guy is just
00:32:21absolutely elite.
00:32:23Shea Gildas Alexander.
00:32:24He's usually feeling
00:32:25some type of way
00:32:26after a loss.
00:32:27And performs in a big way.
00:32:29As George documented
00:32:30in the open.
00:32:31And he is a mid-range master.
00:32:35Caruso back in.
00:32:36Isaiah Joe sits down.
00:32:46They're giving McConnell
00:32:47the 3 now.
00:32:47Wallace closes.
00:32:49Shot clock at 6.
00:32:53Shot clock at 2.
00:32:54McConnell gets inside.
00:32:56Topic just releases in time.
00:32:59And a fight for the rebound.
00:33:00Knocked out of bounds.
00:33:01Thunderball.
00:33:02No, we're cheating!
00:33:04You're cheating!
00:33:06Both teams are looking comfortable.
00:33:08You look at the amount of points
00:33:09that both teams have scored
00:33:10with 8 to go.
00:33:11You know, they're on pace
00:33:12for 60 points.
00:33:13Two of the top defenses
00:33:15locked in on each other.
00:33:16Full court pressuring.
00:33:18But they're starting to understand
00:33:19how to attack that pressure
00:33:20on both sides.
00:33:24Nice pass inside.
00:33:25And Caruso.
00:33:27It's Alexander giving it up
00:33:28early that time.
00:33:29He does, Mike.
00:33:30And how many times have we seen
00:33:32Caruso, through the course
00:33:33of these playoffs,
00:33:34make smart cuts along the baseline?
00:33:38He's 4-4 off the bench.
00:33:43McConnell up top.
00:33:44Turner.
00:33:45Step back 3.
00:33:46Miles Turner.
00:33:48And Joe does Alexander
00:33:49the rebound.
00:33:50The zip of Indiana's
00:33:52offense is not quite the same
00:33:54when Tyrese sits.
00:33:58Williams look wide open.
00:34:00Corner 3.
00:34:01In and out.
00:34:01Top of the rebound.
00:34:12McConnell calling for Turner
00:34:13to come over.
00:34:14Now McConnell drives baseline.
00:34:15Sneaks underneath.
00:34:16Back shots go.
00:34:16With 8 points and 10 minutes
00:34:18off the bench.
00:34:20If your shake goes
00:34:21as Alexander,
00:34:22you can't have that happen.
00:34:23You know what TJ's gonna do.
00:34:24You've gotta guard that better.
00:34:27Good move from Holmgren.
00:34:28Couldn't finish.
00:34:29Comes up a little bit limping.
00:34:31And the Pacers
00:34:31come the other way.
00:34:35McConnell,
00:34:36one of the bench players
00:34:37in basketball.
00:34:39Once again providing
00:34:40the spark.
00:34:43Left wide open.
00:34:44Back to Shepard.
00:34:46Neesmith.
00:34:48Good defense on Peruso.
00:34:49Turner at 3.
00:34:51Neesmith deflects it.
00:34:52Connell comes up with it.
00:34:57Good hands from Neesmith
00:34:58once again on the
00:34:59offensive board.
00:34:59Strives inside.
00:35:00Blocked by Holmgren.
00:35:01Wallace comes the other way.
00:35:03Kaysen Wallace
00:35:05takes a bump.
00:35:06Back.
00:35:06Kenridge Williams
00:35:07backs it home.
00:35:09And Rick Carlisle
00:35:10falls timeout.
00:35:12Williams with some
00:35:12good minutes off the bench.
00:35:14A one-point lead
00:35:16for OKC.
00:35:24Yesterday,
00:35:25the NBA,
00:35:26Indiana Pacers,
00:35:27and Emirates
00:35:27unveiled a new
00:35:28multi-purpose room
00:35:29at Wheeler Dow
00:35:30Boys and Girls Club.
00:35:31Players,
00:35:32legends,
00:35:32team,
00:35:33league,
00:35:33and partner
00:35:33executives on hand
00:35:34to dedicate the space
00:35:35complete with new
00:35:36technology,
00:35:37gaming equipment,
00:35:38furniture,
00:35:38and wall graphics.
00:35:39These efforts
00:35:40highlight the NBA's
00:35:41commitment to
00:35:41supporting the community
00:35:42through NBA Cares
00:35:44and using the power
00:35:45of basketball
00:35:45to bring people together.
00:35:50Well,
00:35:50here in Indianapolis,
00:35:51Pacer legends
00:35:52all over the place.
00:35:53Reggie Miller,
00:35:55Mark Jackson,
00:35:58Jalen Rose
00:35:58back here in Indianapolis.
00:36:01Travis Best,
00:36:01a terrific lefty
00:36:02point guard.
00:36:04Derek McKee,
00:36:05who actually played
00:36:06for both franchises,
00:36:08as did
00:36:08Ducklove Shrimp,
00:36:09and of course,
00:36:10Dale Davis,
00:36:10boy,
00:36:11what a beast he was
00:36:12on the boards.
00:36:13Of course,
00:36:14OKC,
00:36:142008,
00:36:17that's when the team
00:36:18came alive
00:36:18with a move from
00:36:19Seattle.
00:36:20It's made kind of
00:36:21for a bizarre link
00:36:22regarding the history
00:36:23of the franchise.
00:36:24There's a sore spot
00:36:25with some,
00:36:25but the franchise records
00:36:27in history,
00:36:28the two teams
00:36:28are connected
00:36:29as Toppin puts up
00:36:31the jump shot
00:36:31and that won't go
00:36:32Wallace to rebound.
00:36:33A lot of Sonic fans
00:36:34don't consider
00:36:35the Thunder part
00:36:35of their team.
00:36:36Many OKC fans
00:36:38don't even show
00:36:39any allegiance
00:36:40to the Sonics history,
00:36:41but I'll say this,
00:36:43the Sonic fans
00:36:44were on the great
00:36:44fan bases ever.
00:36:45OKC fans are
00:36:46one of the great
00:36:47fan bases.
00:36:48Kaysen Wallace
00:36:50can't hit,
00:36:51Toppin' the rebound.
00:36:52Boy,
00:36:52Jalen Williams
00:36:53had a mid-range shot
00:36:54and passed it up
00:36:55and he and SGA
00:36:56a little bit worse
00:36:58in the mid-range
00:36:58this series
00:36:59than their last couple,
00:37:01but I'm shocked
00:37:01he passed that up.
00:37:02Off the turnover,
00:37:03Caruso bumped
00:37:04by Toppin.
00:37:07Einstein gets
00:37:08into Toppin's face.
00:37:13Oh,
00:37:14now it's the NBA
00:37:15foul,
00:37:16now it's the NBA
00:37:17Finals.
00:37:19You know what I like
00:37:19about this foul?
00:37:21There was so much
00:37:21question about
00:37:22Neesmith's,
00:37:23was that an offense,
00:37:26or excuse me,
00:37:27was that a flagrant
00:37:27foul last game?
00:37:28They're gonna play
00:37:29aggressive.
00:37:30And I understand
00:37:31why you do this.
00:37:32There was no play
00:37:33at the ball,
00:37:34kind of,
00:37:34I guess.
00:37:36It depends.
00:37:37The referees
00:37:37typically take a review
00:37:38whenever there's
00:37:39some sort of scuffle.
00:37:43So they are gonna
00:37:44review it.
00:37:45Scott Foster is
00:37:46the crew chief.
00:37:47It's easier
00:37:47sometimes to see
00:37:48in real time.
00:37:50Let's watch.
00:37:53So, you know,
00:37:54I think that's a
00:37:55playoff foul,
00:37:55that one.
00:37:56I agree.
00:37:57And I think
00:37:57Hartenstein did
00:37:58the right thing,
00:37:59though,
00:37:59in protecting his guy.
00:38:01It can be not a
00:38:02flagrant and still
00:38:03objectionable to your
00:38:04teammate.
00:38:05Two things can't be
00:38:06true.
00:38:06Two triggers on the
00:38:07play.
00:38:07We'll check to see
00:38:08if this foul meets
00:38:08the criteria for
00:38:09their flagrant foul.
00:38:10In addition,
00:38:11we'll check to see
00:38:11get the altercation.
00:38:12It did not easily
00:38:13dissolve.
00:38:14We'll have any
00:38:15further penalties.
00:38:16All right.
00:38:16So while they
00:38:17check that out,
00:38:17we'll check in
00:38:18with our man
00:38:19Steve Javi.
00:38:20Steve,
00:38:21it's always,
00:38:21you know,
00:38:21we always talk about,
00:38:22oh, that's just a
00:38:23good hard playoff foul.
00:38:24How are you looking at
00:38:25this,
00:38:25and how do you think
00:38:26they'll look at it?
00:38:27Yeah,
00:38:27I think they're gonna
00:38:28take a look at the
00:38:28criteria, obviously.
00:38:29Severity of the
00:38:30contact.
00:38:31All right?
00:38:31The severity of the
00:38:32contact wasn't that
00:38:33bad.
00:38:33He wasn't in a
00:38:34vulnerable position.
00:38:36So I think this is
00:38:36gonna be just your
00:38:37normal foul,
00:38:38in my opinion.
00:38:39I think afterwards
00:38:40is where you're gonna
00:38:40find something might
00:38:41happen here,
00:38:42because Hartenstein
00:38:43goes up on top,
00:38:44and then pushes him.
00:38:46You might see a
00:38:46double technical foul
00:38:47on those two guys
00:38:48right there.
00:38:49Thank you, Steve.
00:38:52So here is
00:38:53after the hard foul.
00:38:58I think double
00:38:58technical will probably
00:38:59be the way to go.
00:39:01I don't think
00:39:01Hartenstein did anything.
00:39:03You know, you're right.
00:39:04It's kind of an easy
00:39:05way to get out of that,
00:39:06but he just went up
00:39:07to talk to him.
00:39:08Be like, hey, come on,
00:39:09let's keep it, let's
00:39:09keep it about basketball.
00:39:10He wasn't gonna say
00:39:11anything nice, but he
00:39:12didn't.
00:39:12But he didn't push him,
00:39:13he didn't get into his
00:39:14face, he basically just
00:39:15went over there to
00:39:16address it.
00:39:17Scott Foster, this is
00:39:18his 26th final game.
00:39:20Josh Tivitt, his
00:39:21ninth final game.
00:39:23And Sean Wright, the
00:39:24third official, his
00:39:25second final game.
00:39:31Well, still on the
00:39:32headsets, obviously an
00:39:33important call.
00:39:35Toppen, meanwhile, will at
00:39:37least get his first
00:39:37personal.
00:39:41And a little conference
00:39:42before the announcement.
00:39:50A decision has been made.
00:39:54But not ready to be announced
00:39:56yet.
00:39:57Come on, get back to the mic.
00:39:59After review, it's been
00:40:00determined that there was
00:40:01wind-up impact follow-through
00:40:02in a non-basketball play.
00:40:05That foul rises to a level of
00:40:06a player foul, penalty one.
00:40:09Following the play, a double
00:40:10technical foul will also be
00:40:11assessed to Obi Toppin and
00:40:12Hartenstein.
00:40:13And we'll play from there.
00:40:14We'll shoot two.
00:40:15And OKC will retain
00:40:16possession of the ball.
00:40:17Well, we all agreed with
00:40:19Steve Javi, and we don't
00:40:20agree with Scott Foster.
00:40:22Now, that is, I mean, he comes
00:40:23in, it's a hard shove, but
00:40:24again, as Steve Javi pointed
00:40:27out, the player was not in a
00:40:28vulnerable position.
00:40:29And I thought the left hand
00:40:31going at the ball was
00:40:33enough to make it like he's
00:40:36making a play on the ball.
00:40:37All right, so that's now going
00:40:39to be two shots and
00:40:40possession.
00:40:42The technical free throws, the
00:40:43double technical, offset each
00:40:45other, but each one technical
00:40:47away from being ejected.
00:40:48Those are the first technicals
00:40:50of this season, of the series.
00:40:52Well, then they're not playing
00:40:54hard enough that those are the
00:40:55first two technicals.
00:40:56But think about this.
00:40:57If you were to go the
00:40:58Neesmith foul and that foul side
00:41:02by side and say one was and one
00:41:04isn't a flagrant foul, that's
00:41:06where it becomes an
00:41:07objective thing.
00:41:11Well, the perfect free throw
00:41:12shooting continues.
00:41:14The Thunder 13 for 13.
00:41:16They now have a three-point lead.
00:41:21You know, Toppin picks up the
00:41:22flagrant.
00:41:24Toppin's off to a good start.
00:41:25Four points, five rebounds.
00:41:29Wiggins gets inside, blocked by
00:41:30Turner, and a whistle.
00:41:32Turner's going to pick up his
00:41:33second.
00:41:35And more free throws for OKC.
00:41:37Wiggins plays off the catch into
00:41:46the corner, has to split, and you
00:41:48can see enough contact on the
00:41:50lower body.
00:41:51You know, there is also that push from
00:41:55Halliburton in the back right at the
00:41:57end.
00:41:58Those are the things that the referees
00:42:00catch that can make a player off
00:42:02balance as he takes off.
00:42:04So Wiggins part of life off the bench
00:42:06as a member of the Thunder.
00:42:07And you never know from one game to the
00:42:09next how many minutes you're going to
00:42:10play or how many shots.
00:42:12So he had that great game, 18 points in
00:42:14less than 21 minutes in game two.
00:42:16Didn't score in 10 minutes, but they
00:42:18have to stay ready.
00:42:19No matter if it's 10 minutes, 20 minutes,
00:42:22no matter if they get one shot, 10
00:42:23shots.
00:42:24There's an art to that, Richard.
00:42:26And somehow staying efficient with
00:42:28limited minutes and touches.
00:42:29There is.
00:42:30But also, I think Mark Dagnall does a
00:42:32great job of doing it all season long.
00:42:34Keeping them engaged all season long.
00:42:36Changing up lineups, giving guys
00:42:38opportunity so when you get to the
00:42:40postseason, it's normal.
00:42:42Turnover.
00:42:43Caruso, the steal.
00:42:44Hartstein helped that out.
00:42:45Caruso inside.
00:42:47It's knocked that ball out of bounds.
00:42:51The officials talking.
00:42:52I didn't see.
00:42:53It looked like there was contact there.
00:42:54Scott Foster talking.
00:42:58It's just going to be a side out.
00:43:00Oh, yeah.
00:43:01That should be Indiana basketball.
00:43:04Williams goes inside.
00:43:12And Williams goes down hard on a
00:43:13foul from Neesmith.
00:43:14All right.
00:43:15What we're seeing here is game
00:43:17four.
00:43:17They're starting to dislike each
00:43:19other.
00:43:21I love it.
00:43:22This is the intensity.
00:43:24Because now you're game four.
00:43:26You're tired of each other.
00:43:27You can't stand each other.
00:43:29Everything becomes a little bit
00:43:30harder, a little bit more physical.
00:43:32And I love J-Dub.
00:43:34He hits the ground hard.
00:43:35We all acknowledge that.
00:43:36You can see it.
00:43:37But watch how quickly he pops up.
00:43:39Because he doesn't want to show any sort of weakness or that it bothered him at all.
00:43:43Norris, does the physical nature of this game favor either team?
00:43:47No.
00:43:48I think they're both tough-minded and very physical basketball teams.
00:43:52But if I'm Oklahoma City right now, I am absolutely thrilled at the level of intention that Alex Caruso and Jalen Williams are playing with.
00:44:00They are decisive on the catch.
00:44:02I know J-Dub had a couple of those turnovers.
00:44:05But he's got 13 points, a few rebounds.
00:44:08He has had to take some of the ball handling away from Shea to make sure Shea's fresh for the fourth to address those issues you talked about in your open, Richard.
00:44:16Six-point lead for the Thunder.
00:44:21This is their largest lead.
00:44:22Bases led by as many as nine.
00:44:24So a 15-point turnaround.
00:44:27Still five minutes to go in the second.
00:44:28Turnover.
00:44:29A lot of time, but way off.
00:44:31Neesmith, another offensive rebound.
00:44:34Ball deflected out.
00:44:36And it's going to go the other way.
00:44:38Neesmith trying to argue his case with Sean Wright.
00:44:41Mass substitution for OKC.
00:44:45It's so tough to box out an air ball.
00:44:48And look, that's the right call.
00:44:51Neesmith tiptoeing that line.
00:44:53So Jalen Williams, Gildas Alexander, and Akron Caruso sits down 11 points in 11 minutes off the bench.
00:45:04OKC has stopped turning the ball off over here in the second.
00:45:08No turnovers in the second period.
00:45:10Indiana has four.
00:45:12Holmgren likes the three.
00:45:13In and out.
00:45:14Halliburton backstabbed, three-pointer can't go.
00:45:24Good boxing out from Jalen Williams.
00:45:28Here come the Thunders.
00:45:29They're just one of nine from three-point range.
00:45:32Gildas Alexander comes up short.
00:45:38So Halliburton and McConnell on at the same time.
00:45:44Halliburton's corner by Williams.
00:45:49Neesmith catch, shoot, hits.
00:45:51Three-pointer for Neesmith, his second.
00:45:55Boy, the corner threes made have been a big part of what Indiana has done here.
00:46:00Offensive foul on Holmgren.
00:46:01Neesmith trying to fight over screen.
00:46:03He fights over screens as well as anybody in the NBA.
00:46:06And that time he drew a foul.
00:46:08Neesmith, again, when you apply pressure, you force teams to be outside of their normal space.
00:46:19Chet Holmgren doesn't get a good screen, hits him with the body, and then I think, in my opinion, a little bit of embellishment.
00:46:25You have to show the referees that it's a legal screen.
00:46:28That's when you get off your feet.
00:46:30And that emotion right there is him knowing what he just accomplished.
00:46:33First foul on Holmgren.
00:46:35Neesmith has spent his first two years in Boston.
00:46:37He said somebody who had a huge impact on him, Joe Mazzullo, who was an assistant coach,
00:46:42he said, the guy who was with me every day pushed me and pushed me
00:46:45and made such a huge impact on him.
00:46:48And then he stopped and laughed very hard because we knew what that meant.
00:46:52Joe Mazzullo, one of the most intense individuals in the game of basketball.
00:46:56Siakam couldn't quite get it.
00:46:58Wow.
00:46:58As Alexander tips it.
00:46:59How about the pass from Halliburton?
00:47:01He's got 12, Williams has 14, and Caruso 11, three and double figures for OKC.
00:47:18Beautiful pass again, guards.
00:47:20And Siakam finishes.
00:47:21Do you see what I mean about the zip and the feel of this Indiana offense
00:47:26when this man steps between the lines?
00:47:28McCownle is brilliant, but his pace is different.
00:47:32He's north to south.
00:47:33Halle going to dance with it a little bit.
00:47:35He's going to cross you over.
00:47:37He's going to use that side and a little look off.
00:47:39Pascal Siakam, you're playing with a guy who loves to pass the basketball.
00:47:43And Halliburton at his best does a little bit of scoring and a lot of bit of this.
00:47:49Nice look.
00:47:56Let's take a look at who's getting buckets brought to you by KFC.
00:47:59Doris.
00:48:00So we know that Oklahoma City is a team that if there's a high frequency of shots conceded,
00:48:05it's the corner threes.
00:48:06Look at Halliburton, the pitch opposite.
00:48:09Neesmith, those windows get tighter against OKC.
00:48:12They get tighter in the playoffs.
00:48:14You've got to be shot ready.
00:48:16And Indiana has been the best three-point shooting team in the playoffs,
00:48:20and they are sustaining that in this half.
00:48:2346% from the field.
00:48:26You see the corner threes.
00:48:28It is such an integral part of many teams' offensive attacks.
00:48:37Three-point OKC lead.
00:48:38And as we approach three-minute terrain remaining, Siakam back in.
00:48:44Luke Dortz back in for OKC.
00:48:47Toppin' returns as well for Indiana.
00:48:49Defense! Defense! Defense!
00:48:52Defense!
00:48:53Hildes Alexander, Nimhart, right with him every step of the way.
00:48:57Shot clock at five.
00:48:58Leans in.
00:48:59Double-team.
00:48:59Caruso gets a good look.
00:49:01Three-pointer won't go.
00:49:02Neesmith has done a nice job on the boards at both ends.
00:49:11In addition to a couple of threes.
00:49:16Halliburton gets inside.
00:49:18Neesmith corner.
00:49:20Toppin' on the follow.
00:49:21One of the elite athletes of the NBA showing his hops once again.
00:49:27It's a one-point game.
00:49:29Defense! Defense!
00:49:31Defense!
00:49:32Hildes Alexander again.
00:49:34Double-team.
00:49:35And a turnover.
00:49:43Alliburton toppin' playing catch.
00:49:44Dork falls down.
00:49:49Pass inside.
00:49:50Nice steal from Williams.
00:49:51Pass was deflected initially as Caruso comes the other way.
00:49:56Nine turnovers for Indiana.
00:50:02Jalen Williams, again, the one-handed scoop layup.
00:50:05Either side, Mike, left or right.
00:50:08He spent an entire summer knowing he was stronger in one hand.
00:50:11He said, I gotta get better going the other direction.
00:50:13Toppin' trying to kick it out to the corner.
00:50:16Got fouled on the pass.
00:50:19It's gonna only be the third tee foul.
00:50:21The officials are gonna discuss if it's in the act of shooting.
00:50:24So he's setting Obi Toppin' up, dancing with the basketball.
00:50:27He one-hands this layup often, right or left.
00:50:31And then Toppin.
00:50:33We showed in the open.
00:50:34Look, he walks by three individuals for a tip dunk.
00:50:38If you are OKC, you have been the best defense all year.
00:50:41Those plays, you just can't have.
00:50:44Especially momentum plays with two minutes to go in the half.
00:50:49Let's hear from Scott Foster.
00:50:50Second to see if this foul meets a criteria for a bigger foul.
00:50:54Well, the discussion, not just whether or not the act of shooting.
00:50:57I'm also explaining it now to Mark Dagnall.
00:51:08Hmm.
00:51:09Well, we know it's a foul.
00:51:14Let's wind up, impact, follow through, and contact to the head.
00:51:19I mean, I think by rule, if the last one was in fact a flagrant,
00:51:24how is this not a flagrant?
00:51:26I couldn't agree more, Doris.
00:51:28And my thing is this.
00:51:30If you're going to get a flagrant foul, it's maybe a little payback,
00:51:32maybe a little, hey, if you're going to do that to our player,
00:51:34we're going to do it to you.
00:51:35In my opinion, you want to get your money's worth.
00:51:38And that wasn't your money's worth on flagrant.
00:51:41Well, Rick Carlisle said before the game,
00:51:43the adjustments game to game now,
00:51:46it's all about level of force, not necessarily strategy.
00:51:50And we are seeing force from both teams.
00:51:53All right, Steve Javi.
00:51:56I think we were all wrong on the first one.
00:51:58What's your thoughts on this particular play?
00:52:01Yeah, this is unique, Mike,
00:52:03because I think if they have the foul on Caruso,
00:52:05which Caruso commits the foul first,
00:52:08then you have the other defender, I think, is that Dort.
00:52:10Yeah, Dort is the one that comes in with a swinging down of the arm.
00:52:13So Caruso, the foul would be on,
00:52:15and you can penalize Dort with a flail over the arm on the head
00:52:18with a technical foul.
00:52:19That's what I would do right now.
00:52:21If I called the foul on Caruso,
00:52:23Dort would get a technical foul.
00:52:24They initially called the foul on Dort.
00:52:26Thank you, Steve.
00:52:28So we'll see if that changes.
00:52:30We've had a bunch of games recently
00:52:32with hardly any reviews and any long reviews.
00:52:35But these are important calls
00:52:37any time of flagrant possibility.
00:52:41And some of these reviews are to get control.
00:52:44After review, it's been determined
00:52:45there was wind-up impact and follow-through
00:52:47with contact to the head.
00:52:48High-contact to the result of the flagrant foul penalty one.
00:52:53Obi Toppin will shoot two
00:52:54and Indiana will retain possession of all the 24 on the shot clock.
00:52:57So Obi Toppin, who committed a flagrant foul earlier,
00:53:00has one committed against him,
00:53:01and will be two free throws
00:53:03and possession with 144 remaining.
00:53:09Toppin, six points
00:53:10and six rebounds
00:53:12and six rebounds
00:53:12off the bench.
00:53:15This is his second year
00:53:17in Indiana.
00:53:18Wired
00:53:18by the Knicks for just two first-round picks,
00:53:21a former lottery pick
00:53:22who's a national player of the year at Dayton.
00:53:25And then connects on to free throw.
00:53:31Obadiah Toppin.
00:53:33I love that Dort went right over to him.
00:53:35I mean, Dort is an in-your-face defender,
00:53:37but he's not a dirty defender.
00:53:39He's annoying,
00:53:40but they connect.
00:53:43Second one, no good.
00:53:44Let's listen to Tyrese Halliburton mic'd up.
00:53:46Hey, we in a good spot, bro.
00:53:49I promise you.
00:53:49Hey, win this minute 44.
00:53:52We're making these free throws.
00:53:54Run to play, score.
00:53:55We got the lead.
00:53:59Sometimes, Mike, it's just that simple.
00:54:01We talk about winning those last two minutes.
00:54:02That's because every team, every coach,
00:54:05that is a focal point.
00:54:09Siakam.
00:54:10Head off to the hot start.
00:54:11Turn, shoots.
00:54:12Got it.
00:54:1414 points.
00:54:15Pascal Siakam.
00:54:22Caruso, Williams, Heidenstine,
00:54:24Gilders Alexander, and Kaysen Wallace right now for OKC.
00:54:29Williams lost it out of bounds.
00:54:30They've got a couple of those,
00:54:32what Jalen Williams was telling us the other day,
00:54:34a lot of unforced errors.
00:54:37We've seen them just in transition,
00:54:39randomly dribbles off your foot.
00:54:41Those are simple plays that you always wish you had back.
00:54:44They had 19 turnovers in game three.
00:54:47Siakam gets it out to Halliburton, gets inside.
00:54:50Oh, what a gorgeous move from Tyrese Halliburton.
00:54:53Under a minute to play, first half.
00:55:05Heidenstine.
00:55:06Good ball denial from Nimhard.
00:55:11Six on a 24.
00:55:12Kaysen Wallace nails the jumper.
00:55:16He was 0 for 4 before that.
00:55:18We're tied again.
00:55:25Williams is guarding Siakam.
00:55:27That's a fun matchup.
00:55:28Now Caruso picks him up on the switch.
00:55:30Siakam only, almost lost it.
00:55:32Halliburton inside.
00:55:33Scoop layup.
00:55:34Count it.
00:55:34And a foul.
00:55:36Some Halliburton heroics here in the second quarter.
00:55:39Now the Pacers take a two-point lead.
00:55:41He's saying they called a foul.
00:55:43They called a foul.
00:55:45But watch this.
00:55:46You go for that steal if you're Jalen Williams.
00:55:48That's a big mistake.
00:55:49If you go for those steals and you don't get it,
00:55:52you've got to make sure you don't allow him to get in there.
00:55:55And then look, eyes on the rim.
00:55:58Avoids the contact.
00:56:00And just a little bit of English.
00:56:01That's his first free throw of the finals.
00:56:08Three-point Indiana lead.
00:56:20Jalen Williams now top and picks him up.
00:56:23At a four-second difference, shot clock and game clock.
00:56:25Williams pulls up, jumper in and out.
00:56:28They smith the rebound.
00:56:30No fouls to give.
00:56:31Alliburton.
00:56:37Corner three.
00:56:40And Eastman tried to get it with one hand.
00:56:42Wouldn't go.
00:56:43And that will end a wild first half.
00:56:46Alliburton eight points and five assists.
00:56:49The other all-star, Siakam, at 14.
00:56:52Meanwhile, the two stars, Roe KC, getting it done as well.
00:56:55Gildas Alexander had 12.
00:56:57Jalen Williams, 16.
00:56:58Marquia halftime coming up.
00:57:04Siakam, once again, their leading scorer.
00:57:06The first half left.
00:57:07Malika Stephen A.
00:57:09Bob Myers and Perk are right here.
00:57:12Gildas Alexander with the jumper.
00:57:15Trying to even this series up at two games apiece.
00:57:18Meanwhile, the Pacers trying to take a commanding 3-1 lead and back-to-back wins at home.
00:57:23Two quarters complete.
00:57:25Three-point game in game four.
00:57:27The NBA Finals, presented by YouTube TV, are brought to you by the powerful backing of American Express.
00:57:3928 years later, in theaters only, June 20th.
00:57:43And Popeyes.
00:57:45Love that chicken from Popeyes.
00:57:46The NBA Finals, presented by YouTube TV, game four.
00:57:54Very physical in the first two quarters.
00:57:58We had two flagrant fouls.
00:58:00We had a combined 30 free-throw attempts.
00:58:04The good, healthy, competitive disdain rises as the series goes on.
00:58:08Let's listen to Tyrese Halliburton mic'd up once again.
00:58:12Great look.
00:58:14It's a horrible quarter, but we're up three.
00:58:16Just keep getting stopped.
00:58:23So, our first-half stats brought to you by Google.
00:58:27Horrible three-point shooting from OKC, but overall 47% and getting to the free-throw line.
00:58:32Meanwhile, look at the assist.
00:58:33The ball movement has been terrific for the Indiana Pacers.
00:58:37I am one with Richard Jeffers and Doris Burke.
00:58:39Mike Green on hand.
00:58:40We'll check in with George in just a moment.
00:58:42All right, this is our switch with YouTube TV.
00:58:44Get your favorite sports and live in one app.
00:58:46What are you seeing from Shea Gilgis' Alexander, Doris?
00:58:49I was really interested in how Mark Degno would manage him.
00:58:51At the end of game three, we thought he was tired.
00:58:54He's facing the same kind of pressure, so they lifted him early in the first, got him extra rest.
00:58:59And J-Dub is bringing the ball up the floor and being the point guard at times, Richard.
00:59:02And don't forget, they added Hartenstein to the mix, so he's playing a lot more to help relieve pressure.
00:59:08And Oaks AC is coming out in the zone.
00:59:10That's another way to conserve energy.
00:59:13That's the make-the-switch with YouTube TV.
00:59:16Neesmith lines it up.
00:59:17Can't get it to go.
00:59:18Hartenstein, who started the game, gets the rebound.
00:59:20Every team had a double-figure lead in that first half as Williams gets inside.
00:59:30Stolen.
00:59:32Siakam out of the pack.
00:59:33Goes up, layup, missed it, but a foul.
00:59:36And Holmgren will pick up his second.
00:59:41Siakam taking a little rest.
00:59:44Now, these turnovers out front, live ball means you're usually going to get something good on the other end.
00:59:58Look, Pascal Siakam, he does so much, you just see, ran into the...
