00:01It's been one of the most anticipated finals.
00:04And now let's watch it.
00:05The classic showdown.
00:06The emotions of Dirk Nowitzki.
00:08All blocked by James.
00:09Here's Trotty.
00:11The Supersonics have won the NBA World Championships.
00:15This is one for the ages.
00:17Definitely amazing.
00:24Welcome to the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV here in Oklahoma City.
00:29Looks like a beautiful night, but severe weather predicted, thunderstorms, high winds.
00:35They had a tornado warning earlier.
00:37They also expected to be pretty chaotic inside the pickup center as these two teams continue their battle for an NBA championship.
00:48Tonight's starting lineups are brought to you by Ford.
00:52And the starters for Indiana.
00:58Same five that had started all 17 playoff games for Rick Carlisle.
01:02And boy, have they been impressive throughout these playoffs, especially on the road.
01:07Meanwhile, Oklahoma City, they changed up their starting lineup for the first time in the playoffs in Game 1.
01:13They're sticking with that here in Game 2.
01:14Now, Kaysen Wallace, the young 21-year-old, gets his chance to start once again.
01:19And here we go.
01:22One game already in the belt.
01:24Both coaches have talked about the feeling out process.
01:28Mark Degno said, hey, it's an unfamiliar opponent.
01:31Rick Carlisle says it's hard to simulate what they do.
01:35Remember, they only play each other twice during the regular season.
01:38And Wallace, right away, scores on the first basket.
01:41I love Kaysen Wallace.
01:42And, yeah, obviously his attack right there.
01:44But defensively, as you see, the pressure that he puts, he gets in that starting lineup because the amount of trust that coach has in him.
01:52Pascal Siakam knocks down the three-pointer.
01:55The three-point shooting amazing doors.
01:56I think that gentleman right there is the reason you start Kaysen Wallace.
02:00Because otherwise, the double bigs, Pascal becomes a very tough matchup.
02:05Ongren fakes, gets past Neesmith.
02:08Ongren hits inside, partially blocked, gets his own rebound, back up and in.
02:12Ongren had a rough first game, quiet first game, and attacks right away.
02:18Neesmith!
02:20Neesmith!
02:22Neesmith!
02:22Ongren with Wallace guarding in.
02:24Neesmith in and out.
02:27He shot the three-ball so well.
02:31Daylon Williams on the attack.
02:33Luke Dort three-pointer.
02:36And Siakam the rebound.
02:39Rebounding plus 17 for Indiana in game one.
02:44Daylon!
02:47Him hard to Turner.
02:49They're trying to find Pascal in the post.
02:51They're working it around.
02:53Him hard finds a little spot and knocks it down.
02:55One of the things that happened in the last game is there were plenty of touches
02:59for Indiana in the front court where Halley doesn't touch it.
03:03The beauty is you have Mr. Nembhard to take the ball.
03:07Holmgren, again on the attack, the spin move.
03:10SGA kicks it out, Wallace wide open three.
03:14Fight for the rebound, knocked out of bounds, pacer ball.
03:18So, obviously, they're trying to deny Tyrese Halliburton at times,
03:21so you go pick and roll with your secondary ball handler.
03:24Andrew told us, I've been a point guard much of my life.
03:26He is very comfortable there.
03:29He's starting to get a nickname, Playoff Andrew, the way he's playing,
03:32or Playoff Drew as he prefers.
03:34Ball knocked out of bounds, still pacer ball.
03:37And that's one of those things.
03:39You think you have a lane.
03:40You think you can attack.
03:42As soon as the big put the ball on the floor, they swarm inside the paint.
03:46You've got to make quick decisions if you're the pacer.
03:50Good ball denial.
03:51Turner able to save it.
03:54East the table is saving.
03:56Nimrard with eight to shoot.
03:59Five on the 24.
04:01Nimrard finds room again.
04:03That one comes up short, and Dort with the rebound.
04:07And the Thunder started well.
04:09They had a nine-point lead after the first quarter in game one.
04:12As Dort left open a couple of feet behind the arm,
04:15and now is the third corner.
04:17He had five of them in game one.
04:19Those are dare shots, though, Mike.
04:22After he's got his rhythm, I don't care.
04:24You look at his percentage during the season, and that's what you have to believe it is.
04:30The actual.
04:31Throws it out of bounds.
04:34Well, we had one lead change in game one.
04:37We've had four lead changes already here in game two.
04:40And great job on this pick and roll by Nimrard to get in front.
04:43But look at Pascal.
04:45You've got to contest that shot.
04:46Dort's not a great off-the-dribble player.
04:49You've got to contest that shot.
04:51Make him think twice.
04:52That's too easy for him.
04:53And you can see they are trying to get Pascal on the post as often as they can against SGA.
05:00Try to make their best player go.
05:06He just fights over the screen.
05:08But now picked up by Turner.
05:10Jalen Williams looking to bounce back after a subpar game.
05:13Turns it over.
05:14Siakam falls.
05:16And the Pacers bring it into the front court.
05:19They had six players score in double figures in game one.
05:29Eleven time in the playoffs.
05:31That's happened.
05:32Ball deflected out of bounds.
05:34It's a great balance of scoring on this Pacer team.
05:37When I was a rookie, we had seven guys averaging nine points or more and nobody more than 15 points.
05:44That is a formula.
05:45It keeps bodies fresh.
05:47You don't know how to key in on one person any given night that you can beat them.
05:525-24.
05:53Turner.
05:54Omgren guarding him.
05:55Turner falls down.
05:56Siakam's going to have to throw it up.
05:57He does.
05:58That one almost went in.
06:00And hit the shot clock.
06:03Thunderball.
06:06Doris in game one.
06:08You could see how the defense of OKC overwhelmed Indiana.
06:11But they really adjusted nicely in that second half.
06:14That was the difference in the game.
06:15Like they stopped turning it over.
06:1720 in the first.
06:185 in the second.
06:19And they didn't have a single turnover after nine minutes in the fourth.
06:23That aided that comeback.
06:24Yildiz Alexander pulls up.
06:26Knocks that one down.
06:27And that's his first bucket.
06:29At a 38-point game.
06:31In the opening of this finals.
06:33Halliburton double-team.
06:38Siakam off the bounce.
06:40Turner.
06:41Back shot is good.
06:44Turner had a very big back shot in the fourth quarter from three-point range.
06:48He had some big plays in that game one victory.
06:53David Williams almost lost it.
06:56Killed to Sarah Xander for three.
07:03I still think Jalen Williams has to slow down a little bit.
07:06There's two times where he's almost lost the ball.
07:09Almost turnover situations.
07:10He won't answer.
07:11Nimhar from the right corner.
07:13Mike, if they're lining up three-point shots with no pressure,
07:17then they have made him a safe.
07:19Oklahoma safe.
07:19Those corner threes killed them.
07:22Excellent defense.
07:23Neesmith and Halliburton.
07:24Neesmith's got a piece.
07:25Siakam drives down a lane.
07:26Layup won't go.
07:28Siakam thought he was fouled.
07:30Holmgren with an excellent defensive play.
07:33Holmgren again.
07:34A little stutter dribble.
07:36Trying to save it.
07:37Out of bounds.
07:38Again, I just said you got to slow down a little bit.
07:41And then Jalen Williams gets another turnoff block shot here.
07:44This is what I was saying.
07:45I could see it in his eyes.
07:47He's moving a little too quick.
07:48He's trying to be too forceful and aggressive.
07:51You don't say this very often,
07:52but Oklahoma City has more turnovers than our opponent.
07:56Start.
07:57That was their second.
07:58Off the miss.
07:59SGA on the front court.
08:00And another turnover.
08:03That's three already for the Thunder.
08:05It just feels like they're pressing a little bit.
08:07They know how important this game is,
08:09and they're trying to win it right now.
08:11Like, settle into the game with your decision making.
08:15Nim hard, finding some space.
08:17Wallace goes for the fake and draws the foul.
08:19And we'll have our first time out.
08:25Six and a half remaining here.
08:27Opening quarter.
08:28A two-point lead for the Thunder.
08:35Let's take a look at who's getting buckets.
08:37Brought to you by KFC.
08:39Not just buckets, clutch buckets.
08:40This started way back in October.
08:42Throughout the course of the regular season,
08:44and here in the playoffs, Tyrese Halliburton on an historic run.
08:48Look at the field goal percentage in the final two minutes.
08:52Either tie or take the lead.
08:54You know, all talked about was that anonymous poll in the Athletic.
08:58He was voted the most overrated.
09:00I think if they revote,
09:01he's going to get the most underrated clutch player of all time.
09:04Oh, listen, forget the vote.
09:06I've never liked anonymous sources in any situation.
09:10If you want to hide,
09:11and my thing,
09:12if you want to talk about Tyrese Halliburton in that moment,
09:15then say it with your chest.
09:16Don't give me a hidden player that wants to say something.
09:19There's no way that didn't drive him.
09:21Oh, my goodness.
09:22He says he uses it for fuel all the time.
09:25And the great Hubie Brown used to say all the time,
09:27you can't be afraid of failure.
09:28You have to be willing to take the shot and make or miss.
09:31And he said it.
09:31I don't ever think about failure.
09:33What I'm thinking about in those moments
09:34is simply living in the moment
09:36and trying to make the right play.
09:39Isaiah Harnstein comes in for OKC.
09:41Obi Toppin,
09:42Benedict Matherin,
09:43come on for the Pacers.
09:44Again, both teams with excellent benches.
09:47SGA.
09:48Matherin didn't go for the fake,
09:49and then throws in a hand.
09:51It commits to foul.
09:52Nodds has said, said yes.
09:53So we have our first player admitting
09:54to committing a personal foul in these finals.
09:57First foul on Matherin.
10:00First free throws for SGA.
10:02Sorry, Mike.
10:02Those fouls are very frustrating.
10:04You did a great job.
10:06Chest to chest.
10:07You stayed down on the pump fake,
10:08and then you swipe down.
10:10That is just an irresponsible play,
10:12especially when you need to keep Shea
10:13off the free throw line.
10:17And look, he does a good job.
10:18You don't go in the pump fake.
10:19You stay on your feet.
10:20You've done your job.
10:21Double pump fake you do,
10:22and then you swipe down.
10:24Those are the disciplined things
10:25that those can help get OKC going.
10:28You've got to be smarter than that.
10:29Goes one of two from the line.
10:32SGA had 38, but you asked him about his game.
10:36He'll recite all the things he didn't do
10:38in a one-point loss.
10:40The corner shift right away.
10:43Son.
10:45Einstein comes out on Halliburton,
10:46ball deflected.
10:48Miles Turner steps back,
10:49can't hit the three.
10:50ourage for the offensive rebound.
10:54Halliburton.
10:55And a blocking foul before the upward motion, so it's going to be a side out I
11:04Love about him
11:06He has the ability to affect the game by getting off it quickly by keeping his dribbles at a minimum
11:13By making sure the guys around him feel great
11:20We're looking back up to a six to shoot Albert
11:25After a dribble about this foot turn over George Falls, but gets it
11:29Williams having a tough time right now securing the ball
11:34Gildas Alexander off the bounce gets inside
11:38Trying to feed it into Wallace fight for the ball
11:41Wallace holding on and it's gonna be okay see ball because Nimwhart when he touched it his body was out of bounds
11:55That's for defenders
11:57It is but you know we talk all the time about handsy how handsy Oklahoma City is we
12:03Underestimate or don't talk enough about how good Indiana's defense is or their office just outshines it too many nights
12:09Alex Caruso and Rick Carlos says they've been working to improve their defense for a year and a half now
12:16Second half of the season was a top ten defense
12:19The kick out to Caruso shot clock at four puts up the three-pointer can't get it before
12:24Here comes Halliburton long three-pointer
12:31side of the rim
12:33This is two for seven to start from three
12:39Gildas Alexander leans in top and does not go for the fake
12:43Caruso from Hartenstein
12:45knocks it down
12:48Boy Isaiah Hartenstein as a pastor facilitator is gonna have some challenges garden pick and pop but he's your best screener
12:56Poppin foul on the entry pass
13:02So so much is happening here first and foremost Shea gets downhill, but he's now in trouble
13:07So watch Hartenstein get himself into the window and what's his head thinking?
13:11Where is my next pass and a great job the backfill by Alex that's three guys all doing their jobs?
13:20Val was on Dort so Dort picks up his second things in the game
13:24Or first team all NBA defense such a critical part of the Thunder D
13:29Matherin quick catch and shoot it hits the three
13:33First bucket for Matherin
13:41Will he try to get on track Matherin doing a good job swarming him
13:44Hartenstein
13:48Dort
13:49High arcing three and Turner able to grab it and that's a good contest and on the other end the corner threes were Indiana beat you
13:57You help protect the paint Tyrese Halliburton with those deep corner passes. Those are tough to guard against
14:04Turner fake fire and can't get up. That's his second free though. We're Hartenstein is down in the paint
14:12Russo knocks out of bounds
14:17And you're gonna protect the paint watch the paint get pulled in you see J dub in there and now look that's a difficult shot
14:24But from the corner, that's a simple fadeaway if you're looking at the top of the key
14:29Catches it knocks it down and smooth jumper there Mike Indiana's taking 13 shots nine of them three-pointers
14:36Isiah joe just checks in
14:41Hartenstein against Thomas Bryan who's seeing his first minutes tonight
14:45And Brian quickly picks up a foul Hartenstein to the free-throw line
14:49This is the static dynamic if you're
14:56Mark okay because Hartenstein as a screener as a rebounder and when he's aggressive I love him offensively
15:02But already he's given up to pick and top threes on the other end to miles Turner who hurt them in the last game
15:10So there's some you know decision-making that goes into that if you're the head coach
15:16Tonight's upcoming national TV schedule brought to you by indeed ESPN Tuesday
15:20WNBA the sky and the Liberty from New York ABC Wednesday the final shifts to Indianapolis
15:26830 Eastern Time
15:28For tip-off and then Friday game four same thing tip off shortly after 830
15:33In the 2-2-1-1-1 format here in these NBA Finals
15:38Arnstein misses the second TJ McConnell just in
15:44Ronald Matherin, Bryant, and Toppin
15:47Four reserves out there with Halliburton
15:49Holmgren back in
15:51Obi Toppin who had five three-pointers and some big ones in the fourth quarter ties the game
15:56Hit to the body
15:58Hit to the body your Chad Homer and he just hit five threes last game
16:01He's in the corner ready for a catch-and-shoot
16:04Yildiz Alexander the floater
16:07Keeps it alive
16:11Halliburton fakes drives back up top McConnell
16:15Toppin aggressive goes inside
16:19Rejects it out of bounds still paced her ball excellent defensive play
16:22So this is the first minutes of the series where Mark Degno has gone double big and he can do it because Obie and
16:29Bryant are on the floor
16:31So what does the double big give you shit?
16:33We said we had to feel you at the rim tonight send that back young son
16:37He's brought to you by amika doris indiana has been the best shooting team in the playoffs they lead in three-point percentage
16:53They're 49 percent in the playoffs from the corners if you are not there on the catch if you are not up into the body
16:59It's going to be a problem of the 18 threes. They made in game 110 came from the corner Richard
17:05They got three already at corner threes are death in this league
17:10Backcourt violation
17:12left heel
17:15Third turnover for indiana
17:20And look this is the pressure we've already seen balls but look at where they're picking up that pickup point is forcing him to retreat to an uncomfortable spot
17:28You rarely ever see a backcourt like that
17:33Art's dying
17:35Gilders Alexander Isaiah Joe three-pointer
17:40They're now three from eight from long distance TJ McConnell pushing the pace as he always does Caruso right with him
17:50Alliberty fires three-pointer bang I owe him that one so I had to do it early
17:58Is that the earliest bang in the history of the NBA Finals apparently?
18:04Joe, I want to move from Isaiah Joe
18:13Alliberty
18:15Surveys now drives
18:17Spence gets inside pull up jump shot off the mark
18:21Over on the rebound
18:23It was Alexander back out of Holmgren fakes
18:30Sidestep the big man can knock down the three not they say a two-pointer foot was on the line
18:40And a foul is topping went to the basket on the pass
18:44Not the penalty yet
18:46And Isaiah Joe, it's about knowing your own scouting report. He's a three-point shooter
18:51So what does he do?
18:53Cuts back door and gets that tough layup
18:56And here look my my therapist Jack Burton always said hey if you get going get a layup if you're coming off a bad game
19:03Get a layup first. That's what Chet did now. He steps back. That three's a little bit easier
19:08They say your therapist. They can't pay your therapist enough
19:16Looking in the corner in the heart and get at the ball well contested there from Perusso
19:28Martinstein Isaiah Joe and Joe can't get it
19:38Just under a minute and a half ago Ryan off the ball by the way the patience is game one
19:44They had nine different players hit a three-pointer
19:50SGA gets in the paint trying to get some contact wouldn't go that kind of little rebound
19:57Neesmith catch fire
20:00Holmgren in traffic got a poked away for a foul
20:04Thomas Bryant's gonna be whistled for his second
20:08Ryan a midseason trade
20:13And an excellent game in the clincher in the conference final I
20:18Mean he's complaining about that he complained about his first one and we had the best view that was an easy foul call on his person
20:28Final minute first quarter
20:30SGA gets inside picks it out
20:36Holmgren again lines it up again knocks it down
20:40Seven points for hungry and he had six total in game one
20:43I'm going with him pulled up shoots over the seven-footer can't get it before all rebound heartenstein
21:03About a five and a half second different shot clock and game clock gilders alexander says back three-pointer
21:14Brian deflects it McConnell couldn't quite hold on but it's the double big lineup Mike
21:19They're just putting so much more pressure on they got waxed on the glass and game one these double big minutes have been good
21:29And this is what we talked about I said it once check gets that layup
21:33If you come off a game where you struggle did something to the basket get a layup get a free throw get something easier
21:39And now that basket looks a lot bigger knocking down his second three
21:46Russo
21:47That's the home room home room on the attack right from the start layup. It's good beautiful drive
21:52Nine straight points home rooms got nine
21:57Knocked off no fouls to give
21:59Demar it off the bounce looking for a spot kicks it out. Siakam does not get it off the time. That will not count
22:10They'll review it, but the ball was in his hands
22:13And the first quarter comes to an end
22:18Aaron game to get home. We're looking to bounce back from a subpar game one only had six points
22:24Struggled shooting, but he leads everybody in scoring with nine after one the thunder
22:29A six-point advantage
22:40Welcome back to the NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV. We're here with Andrew Nembhard
22:44What do you like about your first quarter start thus far? I think we did a solid job playing with pace
22:50Then we can do a better job of getting into the paint and spraying up
22:54They're playing their two big man lineup for the first time. How does that affect what you guys are doing?
22:58He's got to probably box out a little bit more on the board
23:01You know set set made a couple three so we got to get out to that closing and stay in front Andrew. Good luck
23:06Thank you guys back to you. All right, George
23:08You're only shooting 32 percent from the field nice spin move inside and backs at home Wiggins off the bench
23:14Both these teams again have relied on such excellent role players
23:26See I come up top
23:28Indiana's got to answer quick or you can feel a timeout coming this pressure from OKC
23:35McConnell given the three lines it up and knocks it down
23:37B.J. McConnell with his first points
23:46Jalen Williams gets past bathroom all the way to the hoop layup. It's good and the foul
23:53So kind of tried to draw the charge instead of three-point opportunity
23:57Jalen was pressing in the first quarter so mark takes him out gets his rest at his best his fingerprints are all over both ends of the floor
24:05Secondary playmaker using his athleticism to finish at the cup. He loves to go left if you force him right
24:12He'll take it, but at his best
24:14Defensively he's taken on a tough matchup. He's blocking shots. He's in the passing lanes
24:19He got caught up in being six for 19 in game one and not affecting it in other areas. Let's see him tonight
24:26The lead is eight
24:28Turner
24:30Turner
24:32Up top Matherin
24:37Pull up jump shot Matherin can't get to the pole rebound Wallace Williams nice pass ahead Caruso layup block but a goaltend
24:45And two points great advanced pass
24:47And the lead is up to ten and it's Jalen Williams again
24:52So shays off the floor he becomes your secondary ball handler
24:56This is the result Mike of what you just touched on that was a great push ahead pass getting them out transition
25:03Williams knows how important is to this team. He said I enjoy being counted on pressure is a privilege
25:09You're in a little pressure after game one off to a good start Caruso drives past
25:14And an offensive foul called on Caruso
25:18Neymar
25:20Stepped in to try the joy of the charge
25:23But Carlisle doesn't like to call Caruso certainly doesn't like to call I
25:27Feel a possible review coming
25:31That was a little bit more on the shoulder it wasn't square on the chest again
25:34I there Jalen Williams is telling him to not challenge
25:38He's telling them to save the challenge so you've got players over there giving information to the bench
25:43They don't really like to call but what Carlisle was upset with is that it took them a while like they felt
25:48Taking too much time to inbound to give Dagonal time to consider the replay as Turner tough shot in the paint
25:55Wiggins up top Harkestine stolen by McConnell bad pass from Harkestine
26:08Not on the drive inside Matherin lamp is good
26:13Arizona to Arizona connection there
26:15I'm not sure if you know that Mike, but if you get a live ball turnover that is death for either team
26:22I'm sure you will let us know
26:25Caruso
26:28Harkestine takes it away
26:30Wild shot though Williams tip is no good
26:33McConnell saves at the Nimhard
26:35Terrific hustle for both teams
26:39Nimhard somehow hangs on
26:43They leave McConnell open
26:46And Wiggins grabs it
26:48And Indiana's 17 of their 27 shots from three-point range Jalen Williams knocks one down
26:59Timeout
27:01Timeout Indiana
27:02On Friday the NBA OKC Thunder and Emirates unveiled a new wonder room at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County
27:08Players legends team league and partner executives on hand to dedicate the space complete with new STEM technology and furniture
27:14These efforts highlight the NBA's commitment to supporting the community through NBA cares and using the power of basketball to bring people together
27:18Well one of the great things about this finals matchup the fan bases of both teams just off the charts and the fan bases of both teams just off the charts
27:23Of course we're gonna see that in games three and four pretty good atmosphere though at the home of the patients back in Indianapolis with the watch party
27:29And you see some of the numbers in the early going just over three minutes gone by here in the season
27:59Second, Henrich Williams who only played 39 seconds in game one it's an early time
28:06Mark Dignall not afraid
28:08To throw guys in there even after not playing much the opera pulls back five on the 24
28:15Jalen Williams with the rebound throws it at the homegrown
28:19Good transition defense from Indiana
28:22Jalen Williams to dry shots locked by Siakam
28:25McConnell throws it ahead to top it
28:29Matherin walks back beyond the arc
28:34Now drives on the seven-footer top on the fake one dribble fires away can't get it to fall
28:40And Holmgren with another rebound, but that's where that size you don't have Chet Holmgren on the floor late last game
28:47He's able to clean up that glass
28:50somehow holds on
28:52And gets it a Wiggins
28:54Wiggins sets fires hits a three-pointer
28:57Wiggins second bucket off the bench
29:01The largest lead here on the first half as Halliburton set to check back in
29:06After in the drive can't get it
29:08Williams to Williams
29:10Jalen in and wrapped up by McConnell
29:13Two shots coming up for Jalen Williams
29:15Again Jalen Williams starting to affect this game in a lot of different areas
29:24We've seen him as a primary now. He's leaking out in transition
29:27Good hard playoff foul and how about Chet?
29:30It's gonna end up on his backside doesn't panic nobody dives on the basketball and them hearts trying to deny and instead nice easy pass and
29:38Wiggins will get a three out of it
29:40Williams to shoot
29:41Williams whose parents are air force veterans grew up in a house where obviously discipline was essential
29:47He had to make his bed every morning had to take care of his little brother
29:50He remembers one time when he was in school
29:53He didn't make his bed went to school his mom came to school
29:57Took him out of school
29:58Brought him home to make the bed and then brought him back to school oh that now that makes sense
30:02I grew up not far from luke air force base where he was we actually had the same coach mark nold
30:08He was my junior harry was my jv coach was also his coach in high school and he credits
30:14Mom and dad that discipline key for his success as an athlete said he's so fortunate his parents used to come to all his games
30:22This wonderful support from the family
30:2613-point lead broke AC Ben Sheppard seeing his first minutes top on the drive finish can't get it before
30:33rebound Kendrick Williams
30:36Thunder look to run
30:40Williams by speed and hunger throws it down
30:44Another 9-0 run the leads up to 15
30:59Again just moving the ball kendrick Williams doesn't get a lot of time check and there's just nobody that's gonna get to the big fella in time
31:08Let's throw it down big fella throw it down
31:13What more playoff stats just ask siri who leads the basketball playoffs and assists
31:2815-point lead for okc the seven-footer from minneapolis what a start and a terrific bounce back after that subpar game number two pick in the draft back in 2022
31:43alaban caro was number one and his whole rookie year broke his foot so he was out missed 50 games this year the
31:49Only thing doors that has stopped him his injuries because you said it the other night he's just scratching the surface
31:53He's going to be a star his ability to stretch from three put it on the deck and then do this be able to guard
32:01Neesmith goes right out of it scores that's a tough move from aaron neesmith
32:06He'll just Alexander during that whole run for okc. He was on the bench played the whole first quarter home group fakes holds up jump shot
32:19And he Smith grabs it
32:23Allibert dangerous pass poked away by wiggins
32:31Wiggins
32:36Enbridge Williams getting some important minutes here in game two of the finals a 30-year-old vet
32:42Gilders alexander jumper got it
32:47And that's as good as you can do if you're mattering and the discipline not to foul you make them shoot a two over the top fine
32:54Allibert with the seven footer on him hunger moving his feet beautifully
32:59Shepard lost it out of bounds
33:01Kendrick Williams forces a turnover at six turnovers for indiana let's watch shea work benedin does a great job
33:08He is squared up defensively. He's trying not to give up an angle. He's staying in front moving his feet
33:13Closes once he gets a little bit off the body of shea
33:16But listen tough contested twos with a guy who's six six and you don't foul him critical
33:21And db he learned his lesson the time before he got the foul stay down and just contest
33:27Douglas alexander off the balance gets inside double clutch counted and a foul
33:33Chance for a three-point play
33:36The lead up to 17
33:38He just takes his time he's so shifty we talk about his mid-range
33:46But it's also how shifty he is getting into the paint with the finish
33:51Here going around knee smith tracking the foul off the glass. That's just simple basketball from shea
33:57Chance of mvp of course the mvp of the regular season
34:05as williams and alexander and a great one-two punch
34:09for the thunder
34:11Matherin picks up his second foul
34:1811 points for guilders alexander 11 for homerun nobody in double figures early for indiana
34:23He smith hesitated
34:32Do it now on knee smith
34:35Rides inside the shot is off the mark those two tough dudes going at each other there
34:40And they're not even turning this team over they're just collectively playing excellent defense and finishing with the defensive rebound
34:48Wiggins steps back three corners guy from wiggins his second three
34:53it's a 21 point lead
34:59Turner inside pumped away another turnover
35:02And a whistle and a foul blocking foul on the trip from siakam
35:18And wiggins there's nothing like a crossover
35:22That can make your feet go one way and your soul goal another and then wiggins knocks down the deep three
35:28Do you ever tell your therapist that now he knows
35:34He's the one that told he's the one i talked to him about it
35:37He's the one that says yeah, that's difficult gilgus alexander inside banks it home
35:42We've got a thunder avalanche here in game two
35:58Oh
36:02That 23 point lead
36:05And shea gilders alexander leading the way it has been a season of brilliance
36:10All-star all nba first team mvp west finals mvp the nba scoring champ
36:17And again one of the beautiful things about him. He is such a respected and beloved leader
36:22And despite all the points he scores so many of his teammates have had career years themselves
36:28Another turnover
36:33Miles turner on the illegal screen that's eight turnovers
36:41Five of them here in the second
36:45Yeah, look at that run the thunder have done that all season long
36:50You know indiana has enough in their resume that this game is not over
36:54How okc handles this point from here on out will dictate them hard with the steel the drive and the finish
37:02Nimhar with a beautiful play that's great balance because dort
37:06Looked like initially he was going to go up and try to take a charge then pulls his body back great balance from them hard
37:12Gilders alexander a little careless, but one of them's right there to save it
37:20Sga with six to shoot fake strives crossover pullback jump shot hit off the mark
37:26Williams a rebound
37:27henrich williams the door back to hartenstein finds wiggins three-pointer
37:32Again the hustle from williams wiggins somehow saves it no backcourt violation
37:40Kiltis alexander had not established himself in the front court
37:46Well follow every unforgettable moment of the nba finals in the nba app download the app today for the latest scores highlights and behind the scenes access
37:54Through all the drama
37:59Remember kemrich williams he did this in game one of the western conference finals he came in he changed the energy he does that here as well
38:07Doesn't play big minutes doesn't put up big numbers
38:11Well mark digno loves him and trusts him
38:16Hombreed caruso
38:18Dort williams
38:20Siakam gets inside
38:22Beautiful ball from siakam his second field goal
38:26And he's got a chance for a three-point play it's amazing the different spots on the floor
38:30You can put this guy in to let him be effective and cook as a one-on-one scorer
38:35That time he's on the right side of the floor free throw line and down so slithered
38:41I mean look at that the ability to tuck the basketball down and then bring it back to finish
38:49You see with to show you the balance
38:51Of indiana siakam's their leading score in the playoffs just under 21 a game
38:56He's number 18 amongst the nba playoff leaders in scoring and that's why there's so much fun to watch
39:02That's also why so many players have contributed to late game heroics lee smith nimhart
39:12Endorse what you said earlier we talked so much about okc defense the best defense in the nba
39:18But indiana without question the most improved defense in the nba
39:22Nembhard and lee smith are elite
39:28Hongren corner three comes up short that time and nimhart don't make a lot of plays
39:34Siakam tries to spin
39:43Siakam on the drive gets inside once again strong move to the bucket from pascal siakam that's two buckets in a row
39:49You got to keep trying to make inroads you know the integrity of indiana despite the score
39:54They're going to stay true to their character sga kicks it out jaylen williams wide open
40:00And miles turner grabs the board if you're okc you've done so much work
40:04You can't let go of the rope with three minutes to go and you can't and he's right on cue you can't
40:1110 quick points and it's right back to 13
40:15Of this team plays the exact same way
40:19Okc says they are committed to their style regardless of the score and the circumstance of what does that means that means tempo
40:27It means please lee smith getting up a little closer
40:35Hendrick perkins of course perk was part of the last time the thunder made the finals back in 2012
40:41They lost in five games to miami scott brooks was the coach of course durant westbrook harden and our man perk
40:51Sga on the drive goes right at siakam
40:54And gets in it off the glass beautiful move from dildes alexander who's got 15 got what we said before that last time out
41:01these last two and a half minutes finishing the quarter playing the right way for both teams okc
41:07you want to keep that foot on the gas pedal
41:11wallace sga caruso three-pointer puts it in
41:14Now seven of eighteen from three-point ranch puffed away by kills us alexander
41:28williams to wallace caruso
41:33Halliburton does a good job hope to get away from hulmgren
41:36Siakam height advantage on wallace for wallace's one tough defender
41:46the spin move the help the steal and a foul
41:49Well
41:56earlier tonight national basketball coaches association presenting the 2025 chuck daly lifetime achievement award don nelson
42:03nelly's here one of two coaches in nba history to lead three teams to at least 250 wins 31 seasons as an nba head coach
42:11playoffs 18 times second all-time in both wins and games coach and quite the character oh
42:17he's definitely the character when i had an opportunity to talk to devon harris last night
42:22and they lost to that famous we believe team led by don nelson and they said they changed their starting lineup
42:29before the series even started and that has always haunted dallas fans and that was based off of a fear
42:36from what don nelson and that we believe team was able to accomplish and a champion with the boston celtics as a player
42:43great to see him here and get the recognition of life devoted to basketball
42:47he doesn't seem to want to leave hawaii very often but a lifetime achievement award will do it
42:53well he owns half the island i think
42:59now with nine points a minute and a half remaining here in the second
43:04the thunder had one of those attempted runs face was trying to fight back
43:08he's been so good fighting over screens but williams gets away and lays it up and in he's got nine points
43:21williams and holmgren big bounce back first halves after a struggle in game one
43:29halliburton gets into the paint nice ball movement knee smith can't get it the fall
43:38the crossover moves from the crowd the jumper
43:45tips and taken by siakam
43:54caruso putting on the pressure siakam picked up his dribble
43:57gets it in the knee smith lee smith block by kilter's alexander top and picks it up six to shoot
44:04siakam drives caruso trying to stay in front contested shot won't go right back to siakam
44:12and they reset the shot clock man how hard is caruso making him work to just handle the ball
44:17alberton williams on him fires away that's off the mark another offensive rebound they can now hold it for the final shot
44:31nimhorn draws the foul shot won't go but he'll shoot two
44:37with 4.1 remaining
44:39all right they're gonna go in there and they're gonna make second half adjustments and i would i
44:47would say the exact same thing indiana's gotta be they've gotta slow down even though the turnovers
44:53aren't 20 you can see them sped up having trouble and you want to give credit to okc's defense but after
44:59that second half we know that indiana can handle the pressure and they're just not doing a very good job so
45:04far casein wallace picking up his third foul and of course the big three for okc all having a huge
45:11impact here in the first half it's not surprising that both chet and jalen williams we've seen this
45:16throughout the course of the playoffs tough game one night the maturity let's remember they're both
45:21third-year players with extraordinary responsibility on their shoulders by chronological age and experience
45:28they remain young they everything's learning all kicks shepherd has it's gonna have time to get it
45:34off nimhart fires away at the buzzer won't go and that will end the first half jay gildas alexander
45:42and okc with a big response the last time they lost the game one second round against denver lost game
45:49one at home in a fourth quarter collapse they responded with a 43 point win a big response here in game two
45:56of the finals halftime an 18 point okc lead
46:04espn bet sportsbook has you covered all playoffs long keep up with big time matchups get daily profit
46:10boosts and tail exclusive picks from stephen a smith welcome back to the nba finals presented by youtube tv
46:16the lightning is close but for now keeping its distance 18 point lead for okc halftime of game two
46:23tonight's access brought to you by visible sounds of the game i'm gonna move him more to the middle
46:28way more space to operate i'm gonna back up to the middle keep stealing just keep doing it i'll get
46:35it to you come on hey my fault gang i gotta stop stops and go every time stops and go come on t
46:45jay come back there come on let's go hey win these five minutes win these five minutes come on come on
46:59time for our first half stats brought to you by etsy you see the numbers shooting just 35
47:06from indiana only seven of 22 from three-point range and they only score 41 points in that first half
47:14hi again everyone with richard jefferson and doris burke mike green on hand we'll check in with george
47:18judano in a moment what's the difference you see in okc in game two we came on the air talking about
47:23chet and jalen had to be better well they had 20 points but for me it was their defense they didn't
47:27even have to turn them over prolifically to disrupt their rhythm and for me when i look at indiana i'm
47:32looking at a team they have to find their offensive flow like you said they're not turning over the
47:37ball but the quality of shots that they're getting are very slim and then they've got to improve their
47:42defense 26 points in the paint that is just too much you've got to protect the paint against okc the
47:49largest lead was 23 as we open up the second half jim hart against wallace and a foul as we check in
47:57with george sudano mike i spoke to pacers assistant coach jim boylan about adjustments for indiana he
48:03said they have to do a better job of attacking the paint ball movement was certainly helped there too much
48:07holding on to the ball offensively and they got to take care of the ball especially once they drive
48:10into the paint he also added that they can't continue to let a couple of bad possessions on
48:14offense affect them on the defensive end mike all right george george with us today but we're thinking
48:19of our our dear friend and colleague lisa salters lisa's mom's been dealing with some serious health
48:25issues for a while now so we want to send our our love to lisa and her mom and although we've never
48:31met her mom we owe her debt of gratitude for giving us the gift of lisa salters who is the teammate
48:37that everyone in our business should strive to have a teammate that shows up the same every single day
48:43is a valuable asset lisa we miss you we love you we're thinking of you we're thinking of you salty
48:50so on the foul of holmgren his first turner
48:54we'll go to the line
48:58turner had a good game one
48:59and the longest tenured pacer in his 10th year he's going to be a free agent this offseason it's
49:08not going to be an easy decision with the way the cap situation is set up
49:15but as we said in game one no one appreciates being in the finals with the pacers more than miles
49:21turner hey that man his money that's what you need to do mike
49:28jaylen williams on the bounce back up homegrown homegrown excellent first half
49:32turner shuts him off hungering spins layup short well defended by miles turner
49:37turner left wide open a good three-point shooter but well short there
49:49and a whistle we're going to keep it down this end
49:53we talk about miles turner as a pick and pop threat on the offensive end he has led the playoffs
49:58in blocks look at him stay in front force him into a tough shot like there was some contact on that left
50:04arm yeah chet didn't complain you know this is one of those moments that the quicker you can move on
50:09kind of a memory of a goldfish keep going you miss a call you better get back on defense
50:13so just alexander with his second foul they've done a lot of studies on goldfish memories
50:19as turner jump shot is good care to share
50:27a 15-point game as we get this third quarter illness alexander 15 points in that first half
50:33splits the defense gets inside wide open corner three it's good but his handle is elite shea gilgers alexander
50:47in my knee smith turner goes right after seven-footer draws the foul shot won't go two fouls on chet hungran
