More smoke, more storms and more heat: The Big Three

00:28north of the northern plains

00:30but if you have any resi

00:32have to limit your outdoor

00:34of the deteriorating air

00:36smoke. And then into Wed

00:38going to see spotty showers

00:40during the day that we are

00:42this escalates into an even

00:45night to thursday into some

00:47daytime kind of a strange

00:50storms, but the evening and

00:52threat expands into Iowa,

00:54Minnesota and off to the e

00:56in Illinois. That's right.

00:57There will be that risk of

00:58severe weather here as we

00:59head into Wednesday evening.

01:00We're also watching a chance

01:02of showers and storms, even

01:03severe weather as we head

01:03into tomorrow afternoon here

01:05across the southern plains

01:06in West Texas, especially,

01:08which this area is just been

01:09battered by waves of severe

01:11weather here over the past

01:12couple of days. The past week,

01:14in fact, and Jeff, this trend

01:15continues as we head into

01:16tomorrow, big time hailers out

01:18here. This is just prime time

01:20for hail getting a little late

01:21in the season for this, but we

01:22still often see June hail storms out

01:25there. Damien, you were a chief

01:26meteorologist out this way.

01:28What Midland Odessa? Is that

01:29right? Yes. Yeah. And yeah,

01:30this time of year, we can still

01:32see a risk of severe weather.

01:33The severe weather risk doesn't

01:34really tamp down until that

01:36real strong West Texas heat

01:38starts to build in by normally

01:39about early July. It's normally

01:40the 4th of July is the dividing

01:41line between the severe

01:43weather threat. And we have

01:44numerous thunderstorms rumbling

01:45across the south to southeast,

01:47not just now, but also Tuesday

01:49and Wednesday. A stormy stretch

01:50continues here. Now we're gonna

01:51be watching out for flooding rainfall

01:53potential as well across this region.

01:54So heads up. All right. And instead

01:56of flooding rain, we are flooded

01:57with high temperatures and heat

01:59in the Northwest. Big time heat

02:01holding on for one more day

02:03across the Northwest. That's

02:04right. Pretty much every single

02:05day of the past couple, almost a

02:07week, we've seen a chance of

02:08record breaking heat here somewhere

02:10across the West. That trend

02:11continues as we head to tomorrow

02:12across the Northwest. 99 in

02:14Yakima is going to be breaking a

02:15record by a degree. Boise 97. Not

02:19very pleasant out there. And even

02:20Baker, Oregon smashing a record by

02:22four degrees there. That's right. Anytime

02:23you can break a record this time of

02:25year by one or two degrees, that's

02:26impressive by four degrees. That's

02:28almost unprecedented kind of heat

02:29of what we're going to be tracking

02:30as we head into tomorrow. At least

02:31some blue on the map returns

02:32Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. Some

02:34relief enters the Northwest from

02:35west to east.
