SOBERS MEETS WITH VENEZUELAN AMBASSADOR

Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Sean Sobers has met with Venezuela's Ambassador to T&T Álvaro Sánchez Cordero at the Ministry's Headquarters in St. Clair.

00:05Alvaro Sanchez Cordero, at the ministry's headquarters in Sinclair.

00:10According to a release by the ministry, Sobers and Cordero acknowledged that both countries

00:15share an important and lengthy fraternal relationship as neighbors,

00:19and also strong cultural and historical ties.

00:22The ministry says that both men discussed mutual areas of interest and concern,

00:27which factored in what has transpired recently.

00:31It also reveals that a request was made by the government to Venezuela previously,

00:36and from that a position was taken to keep diplomatic channels open.

00:40It is with the aim of fostering constructive dialogue to ensure that the exchange of information

00:45between both countries is fair, transparent and consistent.
