00:00Good morning, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office.
00:04So there were plenty of showers yesterday, some of those turning heavy and thundery.
00:08And there are further showers on the cards as we go through the rest of this week.
00:11But before we get there, it's a dry and bright start for many of us on Sunday morning.
00:15Some showers feeding in across parts of Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland and then
00:19later into northern parts of England, Wales and in the afternoon sun shines, further showers
00:23bubbling up too.
00:24We could see one or two of these turning heavy in places, wouldn't rule out the odd rumble
00:28of thunder again, but the showers are generally lighter in nature and a bit more scattered
00:32than what we saw on Saturday.
00:34It is still going to be quite blustery across the west of the country, but temperatures perhaps
00:37a degree or two up compared to what we saw yesterday.
00:40Highs in the south of 19 or 20 degrees, but in the north, still a little below average
00:44for the time of year, around 14 or 15 degrees.
00:48Then as we go through Sunday evening, particularly across the northern half of the country, those
00:51showers do persist for a time.
00:53Again, that could be the odd rumble of thunder, some heavier downpours in places.
00:57But further south, those showers quite quickly easing through the evening, so turning drier
01:01here and eventually, almost anywhere, seeing those clear spells developing into the early
01:05hours of Monday morning.
01:07One or two showers do continue to feed in off the coast across parts of western Scotland
01:11and in the very far north as well.
01:13But where we do see the clear spells, it could be turning a little chilly again, perhaps the
01:16odd touch of grass frost in places, particularly across the northern half of the country.
01:20But further south, temperatures holding up into the high single figures, maybe even into
01:24the low double figures.
01:25But that does mean it's going to be another dry and bright start for many of us on Monday
01:29morning.
01:30Plenty of sunshine on the cards to start the day.
01:33Some showers still feeding in across the north and perhaps across northern and eastern areas.
01:37We could see some bubbling up through the afternoon, but these generally are notched
01:40down compared to what we saw over the weekend.
01:42But for Northern Ireland, western parts of Scotland turning increasingly cloudy through
01:46the afternoon as we see this next weather front pushing in from the west, bringing
01:49some perhaps heavy and persistent rain through the afternoon.
01:52The best of any sunshine would definitely be across the south and southeast on Monday
01:56afternoon and feeling a little warmer again here.
01:58Highs in the southeast of 20, 21, perhaps even 22 degrees, a touch warmer than compared
02:03to the weekend across the north as well, 15 or 16 degrees.
02:06But it will be feeling quite cool if you're caught underneath that cloud and rain.
02:11That north-south split that we see on Monday does continue as we go through much of next
02:15week.
