00:00Hello there, good morning.
00:01It's a wet and windy weekend ahead with some Met Office warnings issued later Sunday through
00:06into Monday.
00:08For today though, Saturday, it's going to be a day of sunshine and showers.
00:12Some quite hefty showers across north-eastern Scotland, perhaps some lingering across south-east
00:16England, but it will brighten up through the course of the day.
00:19There will be some sunny spells, if not some quite bright spells, but showers are on the
00:23cards, particularly across western areas.
00:25They could turn heavy with some hail and thunder, perhaps quite gusty for a time if you do catch
00:29any heavier downpours.
00:32Temperatures around about average for the time of year, around the mid-teens across many
00:35northern areas, just pushing into 19 degrees Celsius across the south-east.
00:41Now once again to finish off the day, there will be some dry weather, some clearer skies
00:44and any showers should be mostly easing away, all thanks to a ridge of high pressure beginning
00:49to build.
00:50Plenty of clear skies, so it's likely to feel a bit cooler and fresher by the time we reach
00:54Sunday morning.
00:55So many towns and cities once again reaching around 8 to 9 degrees Celsius, but anyway,
00:59in any rural spots it will feel that little bit cooler.
01:04Now clear skies to start Sunday, there will even be some sunshine around, but that will
01:07soon change.
01:09Some heavy outbreaks of rain at first starting to push into south-west England, southern
01:12parts of Wales, northern Ireland pushing its way north-eastwards.
01:15Now we're likely to see some very heavy downpours associated with the system.
01:20Not only that, but some very strong winds.
01:21A risk of gusts as we head through into the afternoon, particularly around any exposed coasts.
01:28Staying driest for longest across the far north and north-east of Scotland, north-eastern parts
01:32of England.
01:33But even here later, we'll catch the heavy rain.
01:36So it's going to be a blustery day.
01:37It might feel a little bit humid, particularly across the south, reaching 19 to 20 degrees
01:42Celsius here, but that obviously being offset by the unsettled weather.
01:46Now, the strongest of the winds are likely to be later on Sunday, particularly across the
01:51southern half of the UK.
01:53Here's that area of low pressure starting to push into parts of Scotland, and we can
01:57see those winds really starting to increase, particularly around coastal areas, but it's
02:01going to be through into inland areas too.
02:03So this is later Sunday through into Monday.
02:06So there has been a Met Office wind warning issued across a large portion of the country.
02:11This is for Sunday 8pm through to Monday at 6pm, where widely we could see gusts between
02:1645 to 55 miles per hour, but in any exposed spots across coasts and hills, we could start
02:21to reach in between 60 to 70 miles per hour, and a chance this could cause some disruption.
02:26So do keep an eye out on our website and across our social media channels for any warning updates,
02:31and of course we'll be here on YouTube with all the latest.
