00:07and initiated discussions about the introduction of e-books.
00:11Contacted today about the meeting, Minister Dr. Michael Dowlatt says it is important to him to engage stakeholders
00:18and to look at existing policies and how they align with the UNC manifesto promises.
00:24With the reintroduction of laptops for secondary school students, Dr. Dowlatt says e-books are being explored to work alongside the new devices.
00:33And despite the annual subscription costs for the e-books, he anticipates it will reduce the cost to students and parents and even the book grants.
00:41Dr. Dowlatt and his team also met with the Association of Principals of Assisted Secondary Schools
00:46and their main concern was the maintenance and integrity of infrastructure, including the plumbing, sewer and electrical systems.
00:53These discussions are important, he says, to ensure the vacation repair program is effective to lend to a smooth academic year come September 2025.
