00:08Hundreds of SEA students enjoyed a day of fun, interactive learning today,
00:13courtesy the Eastern Credit Union, as they prepare for the SEA on March 26th.
00:20We believe that we have a duty of care, and that part of our duty of care is to the
00:26young
00:27persons in society, and we understand that the SEA examination is a stressful time,
00:32persons are anxious, and we believe in giving them just a little time to relax a little bit,
00:37not only relax, but also to give them information on their transition from primary school to secondary school.
00:44The ECU also gives back to the nation's youth through its grant program,
00:49information for which will be posted to its social media.
00:53We have what is called an educational grant.
00:58What that entails is that students who are members and or the children of members,
01:04they can apply for a small grant, a token, whether they have completed the SEA,
01:12I know that CXE, I don't know what it's called, CSE or A-levels, and we offer them, we bring
01:17them here as well,
01:18we provide them with some basic information, and as well as provide them a small monetary grant
01:24to assist in their transition to whatever next level we do.
01:27So it's not a scholarship like that per se, but we do all that we can at various levels to
01:33assist our members.
01:34The Credit Union also offers education loans.
01:37The ECU offers financial literacy sessions at schools across the country,
01:43and they're advising all parents to get their children into saving early.
01:48You may or may not know, one of the founding principles of Eastern Credit Union was treating with the youth.
01:53Many of us, when we were younger, remembered persons coming to our primary school,
01:59taking a dollar from you every two or three weeks.
02:02That is the foundation of the expansion of Eastern Credit Union.
02:06And so we encourage members to open accounts for their children, their grandchildren.
02:13More information on the ECU's products and services can be found on its website.
