00:00A day after TV6 News visited residents at Jiburi Road, Quashtray, Sangri Grandi, and aired their complaints about not receiving
00:08pipe-borne water for the past five years,
00:11a team from the Water and Sewage Authority has conducted a site visit to the area.
00:16This was confirmed by one of the residents, Anthony Williams, who says the visit took place between 10.30am and
00:2211am today.
00:24They came and they did a site visit of the main, and they wanted to know why we wasn't getting
00:33water,
00:33so they said they will try to see what could happen.
00:37We also saw some illegal pipes on the connection.
00:43So they said they will try and find out if Pugwasa did any recent connection or if it is definitely
00:54illegal connection on the main, right?
00:57They did not say anything about getting the four-inch main to us,
01:04but they just said they will try and see what could be done in the interim.
01:09Williams says residents are happy for the visit and hopeful that it could be the start to them getting a
01:15resolution.
01:16He tells us it was conducted by WASA's connection field officer along with another official.
01:22Did they tell you when they would reach back out to update you?
01:27They said they would give a call.
01:29They didn't say when or what time, but they said they would give a call.
01:34All right. Anything that I have not asked that you want to add?
01:38Well, again, I think in order for us to get sufficient water supply in the area, we need the four
01:45-inch main pipe.
01:47Definitely. The long-distance supply off of William Trace is not working.
01:52WASA says it is waiting on the submission of the report from the visit before an update can be provided
01:57to us.
