A man believed to be a 23yo plumber shot dead in south-west Sydney

Police are looking for a gunman, after a shooting in Sydney’s south-west last night.

00:00Police have called this a brutal, violent, execution-style murder here in the streets

00:09of Condell Park in Sydney's south-west.

00:12We've just heard from police at a press conference who say they've been able to gain access to

00:17CCTV footage at the property where the 23-year-old man was allegedly shot at about half-past ten

00:27last night.

00:28They said by watching that CCTV footage, they can see that 23-year-old man returning home

00:34in his ute.

00:35A silver Toyota Corolla hatchback pulled up across the driveway.

00:42A man in a black hoodie and police said what looks like a balaclava got out of that ute.

00:50He allegedly pulled out a small Glock-style handgun and then opened fire with up to ten

00:56rounds of bullets.

00:58The 23-year-old man had four gunshot wounds.

01:03A paramedics and emergency services were called to the scene at about half-past ten and that

01:11man was treated at the scene but really tragically he died.

01:17Police say that they believe a car which looked like a silver Toyota Corolla hatchback which

01:23was found at Fairfield East a short time later, they believe that to be the same car that

01:30was at the property here.

01:32It was found burnt out and police believe that they found a similar handgun inside.

01:39The victim is a 23-year-old man.

01:46Police believe that he lived with his family here in Condell Park.

01:50They believe he was a plumber and that he worked for his family business and police did

01:57say earlier on he had no prior criminal history whatsoever and his family also had none either.

02:08I want to assure the community that at this stage we believe that this is, although an

02:14extremely brutal and violent execution style murder, is a targeted attack.

02:21Now what I can say in this very early stage is that the victim and the holdings that we

02:26have on the victim and his family is that he is not known to police.

02:30He does not have a criminal record.

02:33His family members do not have criminal records.

02:40It's been an extremely sombre scene at the crime scene right here.

02:45There's a huge amount of police and detectives moving in and out of the crime scene.

02:51Police have just told us earlier that they've actually established a strike force to work

02:56with the homicide squad on this case here.

02:59But there's a lot of family moving in and out, hugging each other, grieving.
