00:00The Johor state election on Saturday delivered clear victories for some parties and major setbacks for others.
00:07Barisan Nasional swept 48 of the 56 seats with Johor BN Chief on Hafiz Ghazi, sworn in for a second
00:14term as Menteri Besar.
00:16The victory strengthened BN's grip on Johor, improving from 40 seats in 2022 to 48.
00:23Component parties MCA and MIC also gained ground, resting four seats from DAP.
00:30The results will boost BN Chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, giving the coalition momentum ahead of the Negeri Sembilan election on
00:36August 1st.
00:38Meanwhile, Pakatan Harapan suffered a major setback securing only eight seats with DAP losing several urban strongholds despite Prime Minister
00:46Anwar Ibrahim's presence on the campaign trail.
00:50PH Election Director Amiruddin Chari also came under pressure after failing to improve the coalition's performance in his first outing

00:58Perikatan Nasional suffered its worst result losing in all seats it contested after the partnership between PAS and Bersatu collapse.
01:07Despite PN's wipeout, PAS may still see an opportunity maintaining that Malay-Muslim political unity remains key as it strengthens
