00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today defended the principle of inclusive governance,
00:05saying no race or political party should be barred from participating in government.
00:10He said the government must reflect the reality of Malaysia's diverse society
00:14by ensuring the participation of various communities and political parties in administration.
00:19He also said deferring political views are a normal feature of any democratic system,
00:25but such differences must be managed with wisdom, guided by the principles of humanity, justice and mutual respect.
00:32Anwar said it would be arrogant to deny any race or political party the right to participate in
00:38and contribute to the government's agenda,
00:40warning that political campaigns can sometimes create tension and lead to excessive rhetoric,
00:45which he urged should be corrected as it sends a negative message to the public.
00:49Anwar also reminded Malaysians not to allow political differences to fuel racial sentiments
00:55or divisive rhetoric that could undermine social harmony.
00:58The statement by Anwar, who is also PKR President,
01:02comes a day after Johor Menteri Besar On Hafiz Ghazi said that he would rather give up his position
