00:30In a face-off of media earlier today, Department of Transportation Chief Vince Dizon said
00:34the president expressed his take on the matter and directed him to raise insurance policy coverage
00:40for owners or drivers of privately owned cars to the same level of public utility vehicles.
00:46Public utility vehicle owners or operators are mandated to insure themselves
00:50under the Passenger Protection Accident Insurance, which affords them coverage of up to 100,000 pesos for injuries
00:57and a maximum of 400,000 pesos in death benefits.
01:01Meanwhile, under the status quo or current regulations, passengers or drivers of private cars involved
01:07in serious road collisions or fatal crashes can only claim half the amount
01:12under the typical TPL or third-party liability insurance private car owners.
01:17They are mandated to have, which is a maximum of 200,000 pesos for death benefits,
01:23regardless of the number of passenger fatalities and no benefits at all for injuries.
01:31And in other news, disgraced former presidential spokesperson and known chatterbox Harry Roque Jr.

02:08The human trafficking charges leveled against them is non-bailable.
02:13Roque is a fugitive on the run, living in the Netherlands, while Wu and Ong are still at large.
