00:00Government employees will receive up to 20,000 pesos in Service Recognition Incentive, or SRI,

00:07which serves as an early Christmas gift to the workers and their families.

00:12The Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, says this is the first time in history

00:17of the distribution of such incentive that teachers and uniformed personnel

00:22will receive the full amount. PTV's Noel Talacay has more.

00:26The Department of Budget and Management, or DBM, is pleased with President Ferdinand

00:34Marquez, Jr.'s approval of the release of the Service Recognition Incentive, or SRI,

00:40for all government employees for the fiscal year 2024. In a statement, DBM Secretary Amena

00:48Pangandaman thanked the President for this. She also said that this is early Christmas gifts

00:55for the government employees and their families. Pangandaman also said that it is the first time

01:02that teachers will receive their full SRI of 20,000 pesos in 2024. According to DBM,

01:11uniformed personnel will also receive the full 20,000 pesos SRI. However, some government

01:19employees' SRI will depend on the funds of their respective agencies. The SRI is a government

01:27incentive for its employees as recognition to their unwavering public service. Meanwhile,

01:35the DBM has approved higher positions and salary grades for psychologists working in the government.

01:42According to the DBM, this is in support of the government's mental health programs for all public

01:50servants. This also recognizes the qualifications of psychologists, such as their master's degree

01:57and extensive internship hours before entering the government. Under the circular issued by the DBM,

02:04psychologist 1 who is in SG-11 may now receive a salary grade 16, while psychologist 2 is elevated

02:14to salary grade 18, and psychologist 3 to salary grade 20. This will be effective starting January
