‘It’s crazy expensive’: how much does it really cost to go to school?

We’re talking to people from Newport about how expensive it can be for parents sending kids to school, from uniforms to trips, people across Wales can be spending hundreds of pounds a year for their children’s education.

00:05that certain bracket, it is difficult to sort of, I don't know, pay for everything there

00:11because they are a bit up the prices. I remember a couple of years ago when I was in there,

00:15it increased while I was in school. So, yeah, that might be one of the main class of foods

00:19going up. School uniforms are always outrageous anyway, so.

00:23That's right, it is. For the people, people who are not working, I don't think they're

00:29getting meals now, well, I don't know. But when I had my clothes and small, it was very

00:36expensive. I mean, that seems to change.

00:41About when I was in school, about a year or two ago now, mum would usually pay like a

00:46uniform, about 130 quid for a uniform. School, dinner for money, it's crazy.

00:52And uni as well, it's crazy, crazy expensive. Yeah.
