Cast your minds back all those years to your first day of ‘big school’. There’s nerves, excitement, anticipation and everything else that goes with it, so we’re asking people in Cardiff for their advice for all the new year sevens.

00:00Stay organised, stay in school, stop following the crowd.
00:04A crowd might be going that way and the right way is this way.
00:08You can be the only person going that way, as long as you know it's right
00:11and as long as you know morally it's right, go that way.
00:16Well, they've got to go. That's the crucial thing, because kids aren't going to school.
00:20And they've got to learn about life, about all these different subjects,
00:25because it's going to be a tough time for them in the future and they've got to get a job.
00:29Just go in there with a good mind, work hard, just do your best.
00:34Don't worry about what other people think and yeah, just do what you can, do your best, that's all you can do.
00:38Don't worry too much. When was the last time you used your history GCSE to do something?
00:44Like, find what you're passionate in, I love my sciences, my physics and in later life,
00:48that's helped me decide what I want to do, but I think there's too much pressure on people.
00:52Like, you're in Year 7, you do your SATs, you go over to an Year 9, you've got GCSEs,
00:56decide what you want to do for the rest of your life.
