00:00I've been talking about this Leafs team today on the show that, you know, I bet on them on

00:07whatever, Saturday night, whatever it was. And I took them at, or whatever it was yesterday,

00:15right? At plus 158. And I did it because I thought Friday night they were in that game

00:24and they should have, you know, in my view, they had them right where they wanted them.

00:27They were down, you know, twice in the game, 4-3, 4-4, they tie it. And then they lose in

00:33overtime on a deflection. They could have easily won that game and been up 3-1 in the series.

00:39Instead, they play Sunday, they lose again, but it was a 1-0 game the whole game. And I just think

00:45they're so scary when they have the puck. I was stunned that they didn't score. I still like

00:52their chances going home. The way they played, I didn't think they played bad in Florida.

00:57At all. I mean, they got burned 2-0, but to me, it was a 1-0 game.

01:01Yeah, it was 1-0 all the way, Scotty, but they're trending in the wrong direction. You want that

01:07team to get off the deck, the champions? You don't want that to happen. You want to split

01:10in Florida, go home 3-1. Because I think the stat is 96% of the teams that are up 3-1 win the series.

01:16You just let them get back in the series. And now all the pressure's on the Leafs.

01:20They got to go home and win in a place they don't really play great in.

01:22You're right. They are a better team than the last three or four years.

01:26They have better defense. The goaltending, which still ours, would have been better than

01:29Wolfe. You can't blame Wolfe for those games, right? It's very dangerous to let the Panthers

01:35team get off the deck. And now they're playing the game they want to play because of all the

01:38hits after the whistle at the end of the game. It's not trending in the right direction.

01:43I'm not saying the Leafs can't win this series, Scotty, but I picked the Panthers in six.

01:47The last two games, you start to see why. They figure out ways to win, and they've done that

01:50in the last two. Well, I won't deny they're the champs, and I don't think that many people

01:57would argue with Panthers in six at the outset. But when you saw them lose those first two

02:04games in Toronto, no surprise at all there the way they outplayed Florida, I thought,

02:10in both games.

02:12Well, I think they took their foot off the gas a little bit because, remember, they crushed

02:16the Tampa Bay Lightning, and I picked the Tampa Bay Lightning to go to the Cup Final.

02:19So I think coming off that, maybe they read their head on a little bit, maybe it took

02:22a little bit easy. Maybe they thought that the Leafs would be a soft touch, and they're

02:26not, because they are a tougher team. They're a tougher team because of the coach, because

02:29of the lineup. But again, I wasn't shocked they were up 2-0, but until the Panthers lose

02:35a home game, it's going to still be a series, and now it's going to probably go six or seven

02:39at this point in time. Again, Scotty, it's so dangerous to let that team off the hook.

02:44And you saw it in the LA Edmonton series. The Kings let the Edmonton Oilers off the hook.

02:48What happened? They won four straight. They're on to the next round. That could happen here

02:52again with the Florida Panthers and the Maples.
