6.0 Ford Power Stroke Injector Diagnostic Trick

00:00We're going to show you something, a little trick here. Let's pull this fuel filter off here.

00:18Now Dylan, you know, he's full of tricks.

00:21Tricks of the trade. So he's going to show you one right here.

00:23He's going to show you that the injectors are leaking.

00:27Go ahead. Do you want me to crank on it?

00:29Yeah, so these 6-0s, they have a starter wire that's over here that you can unplug.

00:36And then you can run this to your battery positively, and then you can crank it without having to turn the key.

00:42So as I crank it here, you can watch the fuel over there.

00:44So watch the fuel.

00:46You see it start spraying like that.

00:48So what's that telling you?

00:50So that tells me, because the fuel pump's turned off, so there should be no pressure at all.

00:54So we're getting pressure from our injectors fed back through the fuel rail into the fuel filter housing.

01:00Yeah.

01:00So it's a good sign to tell that the seals are going bad in your injectors, too.

01:05So that should not happen.

01:07That's what we're trying to show you.

01:08So if you've got a truck smoking, a 6-0 that's smoking like that, this is a quick little trick to tell you.

01:15It's time, you know, you've got injector seals that are leaking.

01:18So you better deal with it, or you'll burn your truck down.

01:22That's the trick.
