00:00This is a 2021 Mercedes-Benz 3-liter, and it's in the Sprinters.
00:06It blew a rod, a connecting rod, but I want to show you why this is beyond kind of repair.
00:10When you see this kind of damage here that I'm pointing to,
00:14where it's actually just totally annihilated the cooling, the water jacket.
00:18These motors are 20 grand.
00:21I won't be rebuilding this motor.
00:22You just wonder why a 2021 went down so quick.
00:25Obviously, there's a lot of shrapnel in here now,
00:27and there is an oil-level sensor on this motor.
00:30This motor will tell you when you're low on oil.
00:32Wow, only 70K.
00:34You can see it on the crank, too, but when it did,
00:37the keyway actually smushed on crank side and destroyed balancer side.
00:42Oh, so maybe that's because the engine stopped instantly when that rod failed.
00:46Imagine it must have been going kind of fast when it stopped.
00:49Dude, this is like inspector detector stuff, dude.
00:53Did he flip it into neutral, pulling a hill or something like that,
00:55and it just went to the floor?
00:56I mean, it's just a work van.
00:57Any ideas out there?
00:58You know I'm asking you.
