00:00I made this multi-color 3D print. Let's have a look at the print first.
00:04It came out pretty well, just as I hoped it would go.
00:07I show you how I sliced this multi-colored print with a step-by-step tutorial in Bamboo Studio.
00:15First drag your model in the Bamboo Studio slicer.
00:19The model is way too big as you see.
00:22First click this button to select the Lay on Face feature.
00:25Then click on the side of the model that should be laying on the print plate.
00:31Now click on the Scale button here.
00:34Click on this number, enter a scale, and press Enter.
00:39The model fits on the print plate now.
00:47Here you see which filament colors are selected for this project.
00:50You can remove the added filaments with this minus button.
00:58On top, you see which printer, print plate, and nozzle diameter you have selected.
01:04To add filament colors, press this plus button.
01:07Then click on the number to change the color of this filament.
01:10To add another color, click the plus button again.
01:22Click on the model to select it.
01:25It's time to paint.
01:26Click the Color Painting button here at the top.
01:30Now select the Fill option by clicking this icon and choose a color.
01:34When you hover over a specific area, it will highlight.
01:39This model is split in FreeCAD.
01:42Select all parts that should be this color.
01:50Now, do the same for the other parts.
01:56Sometimes you have to click a lot of faces.
01:57Then other filling options may be useful.
02:12All colors have been added to the model.
02:16It looks like it's ready to be printed.
02:20Click on Slice Plate or the Preview tab on the left.
02:25Now it will be prepared for printing.
02:27Go to Color Scheme and select Filament.
02:38The color of each part of the model is clearly visible now.
02:51It looks like there are floating parts.
02:54Here you see it.
02:55The wrong side is laying on the bed.
02:57Here you see it.
03:01Click on the link in the warning box to go back to the model.
03:07Then click the Lay on Face feature here.
03:10Select the other side to rotate the model.
03:16Slice the model again.
03:19The flat side is on the print bed now.
03:21As you see another warning popped up in orange.
03:30The model is conflicting with the wipe tower.
03:33Click on the link in the warning box to go back to the model.
03:35Select the model and click the Rotate button.
03:38Rotate it a little clockwise to avoid hitting the wipe tower.
03:42It takes around 5 hours to make this multi-color print.
03:43It takes around 5 hours to make this multi-color print.
03:58All layers have the right color.
04:01Select Export Plate Sliced File to generate the G-code for this print.
04:05Good luck with your multi-color 3D print.
