00:00in terms of what you need to get done yeah that's you know the the entry process is very thorough
00:05i think that's probably the best yeah there's just you've left like so many tools in the cockpit
00:10everything's just falling apart what the fuck's this lap
00:14um yeah which amazes me that it changes from one race to a next you you i didn't think these
00:21formula one seats came with adjustments they're not they're not really well they're not supposed
00:25to if it's the same seat as he's had before uh maybe he just hasn't been in the car for a while
00:30and he's stretched he's stretched out he's been hanging upside down somewhere like a bat maybe
00:35uh ted kravitz down to you lando norris is in the pits where's where's my torch
00:39that's what a mechanic will be saying i'm sure i had a torch it's one of these led torches you
00:46know the new fangled ones don't have a uh don't have a bulb in it anymore it's just an led strip
00:50and so one of the mechanics has left a torch in the uh in the cockpit of the number four mclaren
00:55and lando was pretty annoyed about it actually came in already had it in his hand chucked it out
01:00the side and then was very keen to get on again which he did i'm gonna come at this from a driver's
01:05point of view um simulator simulations correlation how's all that going so on that subject last time
01:12i came to visit you at silverstone i think you had four units and there was another one that you
01:17were opening up as well yeah and then you've got a base in america that you're building too so
01:21kind of uh we all see it as the home of formula one so it's it's it's an anglo-american conglomerate
01:27really isn't it yeah oh nico holkenberg just outbreaking himself a little bit into uh the first
01:33team coming in to formula one it was kind of assumed wisdom that they'd be after you'd be after
01:38employing an american driver is that still the case and and secondly how do you how fast do you think
01:44you'll be when you start next year well ted um in terms you know when it comes to american drive i
01:50think everyone would love to see an american driver in an american team and you know with an american
01:55engine so maybe that's what's going on with with russell uh but yeah i'm impressed as well with with
02:01max straight at it and uh right up there at the top of the time sheets ok on there just climbing over
02:07the curbs awkwardly and uh the car not liking that one sprint race in china was lewis hamilton's
02:14territory we'll talk about him in a moment but this is george russell yeah wide through uh turn 12 and
02:20the problem is that puts you on the wrong line through 13 and the chicane that follows after that
02:25comes at you very quickly so uh it's all about picking the right line through turn 12 you've got
02:29to compromise that corner and you want to avoid that bollard as uh it certainly was i was going to
02:37say you've got to avoid that bollard because max verstappen knows that all too well doesn't he cost
02:41him a race didn't it last year because honestly you you've you've brought life and and a breath of
02:46fresh air into this box for the last 10 minutes or so what's next uh for you though if it's not f1
02:51what are you working on usually it drives me mad when people ask me that because i'm like is f1 not
02:55enough he does that i have to top f1 do i right moving on that is oscar piastri getting really
03:06bouncy over the curbs and through the uh chicane just shows you some of the uh forces that go through
03:13an f1 car when you just take a little bit too much curries and charles already said that at the
03:19moment the car's a little more pointy a bit more on the nose which is not necessarily something he wants
03:24but it is the best way to get the best out of the car so he's having to adapt his driving style
03:29uh to go with it see how here we go
03:32uh i'm uh no andrea is way too serious for this stuff so that's my job and more importantly
03:40this has been going on since what brazil last year that people are accusing you of keeping your
03:46tires a bit too cool with uh with some water uh yeah there's been uh a team that's uh has that
03:52whatever um has been happening pretty much since may the 13th 1950 yeah that was a little aggressive
03:59across the curb it's what you're talking about wasn't it the way it rides the curb or doesn't
04:04ride the curb thing could be a bit of a concern for them moving forward and well only this one
04:09practice session is they've got a lot of work to do in that area i think because we want to see
04:12difference in tire age uh between the cars particularly on race day uh carby on my god
04:18it's uh it's really on the racing line at least they didn't move yeah carlos science who has
04:25finished uh top five in the last two years and the podium the year before that you think well
04:30he's gone to williams now so there's no chance of a top five but is there a chance of a top five
04:35because this this looks like a nice little car so i think to find his feet isn't he star that's
04:40the feeling i get a p1 for now alex albon told you you couldn't miss that so particular crash
04:44helmet kimmy antonelli is the car in front of him and antonelli just starting a new flying lap
04:51as albon crosses the line behind his teammate with a 127.9 who was feeling the worst uh but the one
04:58person who wouldn't have felt anything was ted kravitz because you know he's a pilot he's used to these
05:02extreme extreme uh daring do's at high altitude as i think alska piastri touches the wall said
05:09just kicked the right side tire but then when he got to sort of 14 it was quite a lot of
05:17understood in the car as you can see now when he's picking up the throttle uh 127.96 for isaac
05:23hadja took him third fastest just a couple of moments ago max verstappen puts in the 127 fight
05:29he's been able to pick himself up remarkably from that first embarrassing moment and you can see a
05:35feature with him and rachel brooks tomorrow the build-up to the sprint meanwhile oscar piastri
05:40multiple sprint victories is he a candidate for this weekend obviously and that is ollie bearman
05:49now he has hit the wall i think how hard i'm not quite sure but we've got a red flag
05:54um and that is the end of this session with four and a half minutes to go i don't think that we're
06:00going to get any more running in and you can see the scuff marks on the right hand side yeah he's
06:04facing the wrong way in turn 12. yeah so how has that happened here we go then on the run down
06:11towards the heavy braking zone till 10. wide yeah a little bit wide there and then on power it's one
06:17of those horrible lazy spins where it's kind of pathetically goes around and there's nothing
06:22you can do to stop it but such is the inertia of these heavy cars these days and because he's
06:27offline he's probably got a lot of dirt on his tires hit quite hard yeah sorry it's okay are you
06:34okay yeah i'm fine just i'm sorry uh significantly slower than that around about 30 40 miles an hour
06:42jensen thanks ever so much thank you uh it'd be great to have you on the competition but it's great
06:46to see you back this year as well oscar piastri uh leads the world championship and led the first
06:51and final practice session uh with it three and a half tenths between himself and charlotte claire
06:57max verstappen two-time winner here and one of only three drivers to win multiple uh sprint races along
07:03with oscar piastri and valtteri bottas verstappen was third fastest ahead of science and albon
07:08isaac had you russell sunoda antonelli and alonso into the top 10 and a lot of drivers behind the top 10
07:15not getting their flying lap in on the soft compound tire lando norris had one more sector to go when
07:22the red flag came out lewis hamilton had a couple of sectors to go as well uh we go all the way down
07:28to lance stroll let's see what the order is after sprints qualifying that's the next f1 action on the track
07:34today
07:34you
