00:00what an incredible journey it was our inaugural radiothon at golisano children's hospital has
00:14ended and we're simply overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support every dollar
00:20raised will make a lasting impact on their lives this is your moment everybody this is your moment
00:25to put on your superhero cape and help make some miracles happen it's the music therapy it's the
00:30game systems in the room it's the facility dogs they're coming to a place that's fun for them to
00:35be at you know these kids are coming down here and playing and they have smiles on their faces
00:40while they're facing things you don't even want to imagine if this community supports us to become
00:45successful we've got to give it back to the community from heartwarming stories to generous
00:49pledges every moment of our first radiothon has been filled with hope and compassion
00:54what were some of the things here at golisano that really made your time here pretty cool it was
01:00definitely the nurses they helped me like they joked around and stuff and the video games out there when
01:07my grandbaby emelina was born she was transported from cape cara hospital here they took such good
01:14care of her that this is our mission is to help they have things for both younger and older kids
01:21and patients like myself if you wanted coloring books legos something like that they could bring
01:26it to you distract you from the medicine it felt more like a home than just a hospital with the staff
01:33and the child life at golisano you're not bringing a child that is in need no child is turned away
01:41they're going to get the best care there's nothing like this between uh tampa and miami this is the
01:47place we've witnessed the true power of community coming together for a common cause to ensure that
01:53every child here receives the care and support they deserve what kind of inspired you to want to be a
01:59part of this today we wouldn't be where we are today without the community so we love giving back
02:03any way we can thanks to our incredible sponsors volunteers our radio station djs and hospital staff
02:09who have worked tirelessly to make this event possible their dedication and passion have made all the
02:16difference we can make it a bright sunshiny day for these children some of the kids staying at the
02:22hospital they don't they don't choose to be here so the idea is is to make things a little easier on
02:27them that's why we need your help we're all about giving back to our communities and local charities
02:32it's amazing what they have here and what they what they provide for these children

02:48i asked someone to donate a thousand dollars we got the thousand and then that was doubled by our

03:35day thanks to our community's unwavering generosity we've surpassed all expectations
03:40and raised an astounding amount for these courageous children and their families
