00:00First of all, can somebody explain to me why school starts so early here?
00:03I know. It's gotten earlier and earlier.
00:05Jaden has gone to school here his whole life.
00:08And, yeah, it was like the end of August always.
00:13And then the past, I'll say probably three or four years, it's gone up and up.
00:18And now, yeah, they start, they end school before Memorial Day and go back.
00:25And I did think it was weird when they started the end of August
00:28because they would go for like one full week
00:30and then they'd have Labor Day weekend right off and be a long weekend.
00:35And then they'd go back. It's just, it's really weird. I'm not sure.
00:38I don't know the reasoning behind it. Is it because of the heat or something?
00:40But it's hot right now.
00:42Always. It's always hot.
00:43Now's the time.
00:44Yeah, I don't get it. I don't get it.
00:45Whatever the case.
00:46School is coming right around the corner.
00:48We're a few weeks away until CCSD gets underway.
00:50My kid going to kindergarten.
00:52He is nervous.
00:54Yeah.
00:54Yeah. He's just so freaked out by it.
00:57But we're trying to like say, no, it's going to be okay.
00:58We went shopping yesterday at Kohl's and Carter's
01:00and got him that Spider-Man shirt he's going to wear on his first day.
01:04And it's just, it's an exciting time.
01:06And it's a crazy time for teachers.
01:07I know. It is.
01:08My girlfriend's a teacher and she teaches in Virginia.
01:12And they give her $50 a year.
01:17$50 a year.
01:19My lord.
01:20What is the point?
01:21Have you ever tried just buying a five-star notebook?
01:25It's like $8 or $9.
01:27Come on, folks.
01:27It's crazy.
01:29It's nuts.
01:30Yeah.
01:30And this is the one thing that we didn't realize.
01:32Because, you know, back when we were in school,
01:33they had the, did you have like the projection, like clear paper deal?
01:38Yeah, yeah.
01:38And you have the markers there and you have construction paper and glue and all that stuff.
01:42I don't know.
01:43Maybe, maybe they paid for it back then, but they frankly just don't right now.
01:47No, they don't at all.
01:48And they don't pay them enough either.
01:49No, they definitely don't, especially here.
01:52702-597-1027.
01:54I know there's some teachers are probably getting ready to wake up early and you're up with us right now.
01:58Give us a call if you're a teacher and you're like, you know what, man, I could use, I could use help.
02:02I get an Amazon wishlist.
02:04Like what's the thing that you need the most?
02:05Yeah, I love that they have these Amazon wishlists now because a lot of people love social media.
02:14It's terrible, but it's also amazing because you can, people are sharing teachers' wishlists all over social media.
02:22And it's really cool.
02:22People are just picking up, you know, whether it be a pack of markers or whatnot, it helps out so much.
02:27We just used the hashtag clear the list.
02:30That's something, that's a trend that's going on right now.
02:32Clear the list.
02:32In other words, clearing the list for these, these teachers, we shared that on our Twitter at Amy and Sean.
02:37And I mean, the amount of teachers that are coming out and saying, hey, we could really use the help.
02:43It's everywhere.
02:44And the need is for like, it's not for anything grandiose.
02:47We have, I'm Princess Vespa.
02:49She was trying to fund a project for her classroom.
02:52Marianne is trying to just get Kleenex and dry erase markers.
02:56Same with Emily Pearl.
02:58She needs pencils and folders, whiteboard markers, glue guns for LV Hockey Mama.
03:02Yeah.
03:03There's a lot, there's a big need there.
03:05Yeah, there is.
03:06And I know you're not going to say it, but I applaud you for literally clearing your son's teacher's list.
03:16That's amazing.
03:16I'm in a fortunate position to be able to pull it off.
03:19So I'm like, you know what?
03:20Listen, if it's going to be his first class and chances are, he's going to be a total pain in the class.
03:25Just the amount of trouble he's been giving us.
03:27I know.
03:28I'm not going to kindergarten.
03:29I'm like, oh, buddy, you're going.
03:30Oh, my gosh.
03:31He'll have fun at once.
03:33It's sad.
03:34It's like, oh, my gosh.
03:35I don't know.
03:36I remember when Jaden went to, I actually have stickers in my car, like of his first full week of school.
03:43Like the stickers you get, like if you're good, you get a sticker at the end of the day.
03:46Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:47Yeah, I still have them.
03:48Oh.
03:49Yeah, I just, it's such an important year.
03:51It's an exciting time.
03:53It is exciting.
03:53I remember Miss Twombly's class.
03:55I was in kindergarten.
03:57I never had the icky girl stage.
03:58There was a girl named Jennifer I had a crush on.
03:59And me and this kid, Anthony, would chase each other in the class and try to vie for her love.
04:05Uh-huh.
04:05And I threw a chair in his way one time.
04:07Oh, my God.
04:08And he tripped and hit really hard.
04:10Oh, my gosh.
04:10And he had to, like, Jennifer, me, him, we all, like, waited.
04:15And he was fine.
04:16I'm like, oh, thank goodness.
04:17I felt terrible.
04:18Right.
04:18That was, like, 30 some odd years ago.
04:21Yeah, yeah, yeah.
04:21How do I still remember that?
04:22Core memory.
04:23Wow, it's crazy.
04:24Core memory.
04:24Let it be known.
04:25So we put this question on our social yesterday.
04:29Uh-huh.
04:29And we picked out five.
04:31Five of the people that are from Las Vegas.
04:33Yeah.
04:34This is a lot of people from a lot of different states.
04:35Right.
04:35We're chiming in.
04:36But we are going to donate $100 to every single one of those people.
04:40And we are going to help clear their lists today as well.
04:44So, teachers, we love what you do.
04:46It's so important.
04:47I mean, because they are taking care of your babies.
04:51Oh, my goodness.
04:51Like, for, you know, every day.
04:53Yeah.
04:53And you need to give them and help them have the tools to do so, you know?
04:59Who's your favorite teacher, do you remember?
05:01In high school, Mrs. Shara was my track coach and PE teacher.
05:07Loved her.
05:09Mr. Kendall was math teacher.
05:11Had a crush on him.
05:11Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:12It was good.
05:12Mr. Kendall, you liked her a whole bunch of different words.
05:14Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:14I love Mr. Kendall.
05:15Teach me more about X, Mr. Kendall.
05:18Oh, my gosh.
05:19Yeah.
05:20Yeah.
