Dave & Chuck the Freak talk about a couple people who were attacked by a hippo at a South African 'petting farm' and left a one-star review.

00:00um we've had some stories lately about things going wrong on like animal safaris in foreign

00:09lands oh yeah every time you think about maybe hitting one of these

00:15something real tragic happens well two women left a one-star trip advisor review

00:25on a uh petting farm in south africa okay after a hippo can't pet a hippo guys threw one of them

00:35around like a rag doll and ripped another one of their stomachs apart she was left holding her own

00:42intestines oh god oh you can't pet a hippo guys it's like the most dangerous animal there is

00:47they are not a part of a petting zoo what in the world yeah were they letting them pet them yes

00:54oh yeah there's pictures of it oh my goodness but they left that on a trip advisor yes but then

00:59they went to trip advisor to leave a one-star review that their intestines were hanging out

01:02yeah that's quite a review oh you can't do what they're doing right here yeah because it'll just

01:06grab your arm and rip you in do you understand that that little wooden dock is nothing for that beast

01:12they're not friendly like i don't understand feeding them 39 year old natasha branny was with

01:19her cousin 62 year old belinda newman and claimed they were attacked by a hippo while visiting

01:25jessica's place in limp popo south africa it's a world famous nature reserve run by two people and

01:33it's home to two hippos 21 year old jessica and nine year old richie the woman claims that richie is

01:40the one the younger one attacked her and her cousin the two hippos i guess were rescued by this couple

01:44when they were young and they've lived like children in their house ever since oh my god

01:49what yeah and visitors are able to feed and give them back rubs no they're not back so she said as i

02:01got on my feet well richie charged out of the river i pushed her to the ground she tried to put her nails

02:07in his left eye to stop the attack but she said as i got on my feet he pushed me down again and proceeded

02:12to bite both my legs and throw me around like a rag doll he had both of my legs in his mouth

02:17biting harder every second oh my god richie started to carry her towards the river as she screamed for

02:23help yeah bring it on that's richie the old lady come on who didn't have a weapon thought she'd slap

02:30the animal to get him to stop that hippo turned around and then jumped on the hippo's back i'm riding you

02:4562 year old woman jumped on the hippo's back

02:48here i go

02:49to try and get him to stop attacking the other woman

02:53he's a bucking bronco now that's when of course he turned on her oh sure pushed her to the ground

03:01and ripped her stomach to pieces my goodness but she just wrote about her experience on trip advisor

03:08giving them a one-star review she said myself and my cousin were brutally attacked by richie the hippo

03:14on the 14th of november we were rushed to the hospital after having several operations and infections set in

03:19only lies from the owners of the place i urge you not to put your family at risk the hippos are not

03:27tame and can attack at any time you should not try to pet them well i'm glad they did this hippos

03:33and you just walk by and go hey hippo what's up and you keep walking take a picture

03:38you wave from a distance you don't go up and pet the hippo and then ride it

03:43that's how you act at the zoo

03:44hey hippo what's up don't come near me or anything keep your distance

03:49well and that's how it's set up yeah that's how it's set up

03:53yes i mean i did see a man dangling his baby over an open hippo's mouth at the detroit zoo but

04:00what's going on what's going on hippo how you doing hippo how you doing what up girl you swimming

04:11you swimming around oh look at him eat that watermelon what's what you do

04:17didn't we all learn this when we were young just say what's up to the hippo

04:21the game they taught you hungry hungry hippo i never thought of that that's right

04:26they're hungry hippos that is where i learned hippo safety

04:35that's a game that's a game everybody should

04:39you know maybe at least hold on at least i never thought of this maybe there's been a serious decline

04:46and how many people played probably or that lady should have known she was in her 60s yeah but at 62

04:52maybe they didn't they didn't have hungry hungry hippo yet how old was the lady with her her cousin

04:58oh my god there's all sorts of people kissing the hippo and everything

05:02yeah don't make out with the hippo oh my god look at it who's this lady

05:06it's her pet this is this is the owner he's an ordinary hippo

05:11oh yes look at the kids about the story begins when disaster struck in hoodsprite south africa

05:18in march 2000 a flood swept the newborn hippo away from the safety of her mother

05:23onto tony and shirley zhubert's farm

05:26the zhubert's took her in and nursed her back to health

05:32an instant bond was formed

05:34jessica sees herself as our child she sees herself she opens the door she comes inside

05:41it lives in the house

05:42and the world wouldn't be the same without this

05:49yeah but where's richie

05:58jessica is not held in captivity

06:00in fact she comes and goes as she pleases

06:04and then yeah you can't tell the difference

06:05so you know i guess it is possible

06:08in the surrounding national parks

06:09but when the mood takes her

06:10she'll return to the farm to sleep on the veranda

06:13yeah but she's got her hippo bad boy friends

06:19perhaps the most remarkable

06:22she's rolling her in danger

06:23what's up with these people around here
