Dave & Chuck the Freak read an e-mail from a listener about a hitchhiker she picked up who was oddly dancing and taught her about dumpster diving.

00:16the hitchhiking and the guy in alaska i had to share my experience i'm a girl at the time i was

00:21in my early 20s i was driving up to wawa ontario from windsor ontario to visit my best friend for

00:28her birthday so i cut through michigan into the sioux i was on the highway and i saw a guy hitchhiking

00:33my way he was walking with a bounce to a step seemed like he was in a great mood as i passed

00:39he dropped his arm and did a slight dance this was just past the sioux in canada and there's nothing

00:44for the next three hours but road before i get into wawa it's almost dark winter pretty cold snow was

00:50coming down hair sticking out from under my winter coat had frosted at the last coffee shop i stopped

00:56at so i couldn't help but wonder why would anyone be so upbeat like this i hitchhiked myself in teen

01:03years knowing what it's like to get passed by and have to walk for hours or get you know soaked and

01:08ache still have to keep walking backed up on the highway decided to pick the guy up i just killed

01:59beard that was full of snow i offered him some of my almonds i was snacking on he happily said no thank

02:06you he began to tell me that he's stuffed from all the stuff he got at the store he explained that

02:14when the food truck comes in they toss out expired food so he waits until almost dark and he raids the

02:19dumpster he also taught me that if they're given food without a stamped expiry date they can't sell

02:25it they just have to toss it so he scored brand new blocks of cheese cottage cheese two big bags of

02:31chocolate milk he took any breads that weren't moldy and the lunch meats he ate right away while

02:36digging as i drive he opens the cottage cheese and drinks the curds oh god damn it god that's worse

02:44than getting murdered that's worse than getting murdered dismember me but don't drink cottage cheese

02:49juice dismember with me if you will i want to i want to but i'm so stop drinking your cottage

03:12interesting she said what a weird experience i still pick people up on occasion these days i demand

03:29like my grandma talked about how like she always like hitchhiking was different like for old time

03:35old time people like it was like a thing that everybody a lot of people did but ever since the 1970s

03:41people will murder you 70s was like a huge hitchhiking time right yeah well then i think like

03:48but i think there are parts of the country that hitchhiking is still really big it's not looked

03:53upon as like yeah you know now we have like uber and stuff yeah you gotta know you can't uber and

04:00wawa no you can't you know what i mean no yeah i couldn't imagine somebody drinking cottage cheese

04:06in front of me a stranger on a two-hour drive i think you know you're in for it when the guy is
