00:00It was it was this was an endurance test. And I think if you're a top player and you think
00:05about around me looking back, yes, they've eventually all solved their own puzzle in this.
00:12Of course, Aaron ride did it better. But I think if you if they look back and say, you know
00:18what, if I could have just been a little bit more patient, knowing that if I can just stay within
00:24three or four shots to lead this whole time and not just keep on getting frustrated about missing putts and
00:29then just wait for my run, then that's easier said than done, because there weren't any runs out there.
00:34I think I think that's well said. I think it was an endurance test. And I do think and perhaps
00:40it's it's probably I know we want to unpack this in further depth.
00:43Another episode of like, what is the identity of the PGA Championship? And I think we both quite liked this
00:49emerging from winter, this sort of spring, summer, northeast test, you know, that especially the one we saw on Thursday
00:55and Friday.
00:56I think that's fantastic. They're going to Olympic Club for a PGA Championship, which is, you know, like a U
01:03.S. Open venue.
01:05So it's almost like we get to us to U.S. Opens a year. It's what it's kind of morphing.
01:10Yeah. And you could throw more variety in there. And I know, you know, there we've talked about, you know,
01:15can you go international?
01:17I think we've also acknowledged we have to acknowledge on the flip side of that, that there are commercial realities
01:23that restrict that, you know, the same reason why we say live, you know, Australia is great for live, but
01:29it's not great for, you know, a larger commercial products of the TV slots.
01:32We get that. But it would be nice to see the PGA kind of go some different places.
01:36But I will say that if one of the like if the PGA has more of a rotational identity than
01:42the other major, I love this northeast may like borderline weather version of this event.
01:48It's pretty it's pretty good stuff. Definitely. So it's you know, it's you know, I think the PGA Championship and
01:55PGA of America does a tremendous job of of just making sure that they get the golf tournament right.
02:02You know, I think they leave their their egos aside a bit. I think Kerry Hague is one of the
02:06best setup guys in the game as far as, you know, really challenging these guys.
02:11I think more than the PGA Tour does. I think oftentimes the PGA Tour and what the players expect in
02:18a setup, they they know when it's a windy day, they're going to move tees up.
02:22And when a whole location is in a back corner with a really tough setup that they're going to give
02:27them a break where the PGA Championship, they're they're quicker to say, you know what?
02:31But we're going to let you go fight for it. And I think the U.S. you know, a little
02:36bit different than the USGA is that I think the USGA has a little bit more variety in their setup.
02:42They're trying to kind of create this perfect rotation of 72 holes where it's, you know, a par three that'll
02:50play 110 yards. Right.
02:51Right. And a par four that'll play drivable and one that whenever you would think should be drivable, they'll find
02:58a way to make a drive or par five that plays up.
03:00And that's kind of like their thing is like really giving you a lot of different looks and variety and
03:06different tee boxes where the PGA is like, we're going to give you your PGA Tour setup and we're going
03:11to make it a little bit harder.
03:11And I think they do a really good job of that because ultimately what it is, it's like a PGA
03:18Tour plus event, you know, it's where you really got to be able to go out there and and and,
03:24you know, bring your A game.
03:26And I think they do a good job of making sure it's a really well run golf tournament.
