00:00And it shouldn't have happened.
00:02Meet Natasha Renee.
00:04I don't want it to happen to anybody else.
00:06U.S. Army vet, just like her late brother, Vladimir,
00:10reliving her hell from one year ago.
00:13I don't want us to go another year
00:15and this person not be brought to justice.
00:17Natasha was stationed in Texas
00:19when the call came in that her brother, Vladimir,
00:21was hospitalized in a very serious condition.
00:24Vlado, as she called him, served in the Army.
00:27Medi-called out with mental health concerns,
00:29moved back to the family neighborhood of Cranes Woods
00:31around Seven Mile and Ryan.
00:33Vlad was working on his health, raising his two boys,
00:36one about to graduate college, the other off to high school.
00:39Then on the night of March 27th, 2004,
00:42half a block from his mom's house,
00:44a man starts beating him mercilessly.
00:47Five days later, Vlad died at Detroit,
00:49receiving hospital from the injuries.
00:52Now Natasha has teamed up with Crime Stoppers
00:54to try and find her brother's killer.
00:57There's a killer among the people of Cranes Woods.
01:01It's your brother, it's your cousin, it's your homeboy,
01:04it's the guy who lives next door.
01:07And they're getting up every morning
01:08and brushing their teeth,
01:09going to get something to eat and going around,
01:11acting like nothing ever happened.
01:14They got away with murder.
01:16If you know anything about the senseless,
01:18brutal murder of Vladimir Rene,
01:20you're asked to call 1-800-SPEAKUP.
