00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World, my name's Theo Huston-Burton.
00:02Today I'm out on the streets of Manchester asking people about the National Living Wage.
00:06And that's because after last week's budget it's now set to go up,
00:10however not quite in line with inflation.
00:12Inflation is rising a bit quicker than the National Living Wages.
00:15We want to know if people think that's right, whether it should be closer tied to inflation,
00:19or whether people are just happy that they've seen a rise in wages.
00:22I do think that makes sense, because otherwise in the future as inflation continues to increase,
00:28the living wage is going to be increasingly disproportionate to it.
00:32I feel like as a guy, like me personally, it's my duty to just earn more money.
00:40Especially like I'm studying at uni at the moment and having to think about coming out and dealing with that.
00:47Yeah, as someone who's got like a full-time job on a salary it's still, you know, not easy anyway.
00:53So it's not just, you know, students that have issues, it's everyone.
