00:00Greetings. I'm here.
00:12Former Police Inspector Roger Alexander has officially traded in his blue tactical gear for UNC Yellow as the party's new candidate for Tunapuna.
00:23But while he may be vying for an MP position, it appears his ultimate goal is National Security Minister as Alexander announced intentions to address inefficiencies within our national security systems.
00:37I want to see a better Toronto Big O. I want to see a safer Toronto Big O. I want to see persons live comfortably. I want to see that someone can go to school and learn. I want to see the teacher can give the assurance that she can teach in peace.
00:59I want the police officers to do their job with the right equipment. I want members of the immigration department to do their job giving them the right equipment. I want to see the fire service do their job giving them the right equipment.
01:17Having said that, I want to see you do your job on the 28th of April.
01:29With Alexander pandering to victims of crime, PSA President Felicia Thomas had a message for the working class.
01:37In 2018, 500 TSTT workers gone. In 2018, there wasn't a roll. 5,500 from Petriton gone. In 2019, brothers and sisters, 200 from Utity gone.
02:01In 2022, another 468 workers retrenched. Comrades, we ain't scratched the surface yet. Workers in this country must be free from dictatorship. They must be free from oppression. They must be free from tyranny.
02:28That means they must be free from the PNM.
02:33Also present last evening were PEP leader Philip Alexander and Jack Warner. The UNC also presented Dr. Narendra Rupnarine, the new candidate for Naparima, formerly held by Rodney Charles, as well as Nicholas Morris, the candidate for Mayaru, formerly represented by Rushton Parry, one of the so-called UNC dissidents.
02:56But the bullies and the oppressors and the Judases, they did not realize something when they were lashing me. And I'll tell you tonight what that is.
03:07I want to tell them when they lash me, they're lashing every single one of you. And I want to tell them when they lash you, faithful and loyal members, they're hitting every one of us.
03:26Because when you touch one, you touch all. All we ask is one, one, one UNC.
03:36Meantime, the UNC is preparing to challenge the EBC on its voter registration figures after the commission confirmed an increase in eligible voters for the 2025 general election.
03:50We are told by the EBC 1.1 million, more than 1.1 million persons will soon get to vote on election day. I'll just insert something here. I want to ask the EBC, we have a declining population. Where did you get 20,000 more votes from?
04:10We have a declining population, but they are saying we now have 20,000 more votes, or voters, than before.
