00:00Two groups clashed during the Holi procession. Stone pelting was reported from the state of
00:04West Bengal. Internet services have now been suspended in Birbhumi till the 17th of March.
00:12The BJP has slammed TMC over the violence that took place in Birbhum. The BJP says that
00:18law and order situation under the TMC government in the state of West Bengal has gone for a toss.
00:23BJP is also saying Mamata Banerjee has turned Birbhum into a blast factory.
00:53My colleague Suryagini is now joining me on the story. Suryagini, once again,
01:09a face-off between BJP and TMC with regards to the violence.
01:12BJP pointing fingers at Mamata Banerjee and the TMC government in the state of West Bengal.
01:23After the Holi celebrations in Shankhya in Birbhumi, a verbal altercation between
01:29two groups led to a scuffle following which stones were pelted from both sides.
01:41Following which police were deployed in Shankhya in Birbhumi.
01:50And that led to the de-escalation of the entire situation.
01:55However, internet services have been clamped down from the 14th last evening till the 17th.
02:03And what the state mentions is that fake news and rumour mongering does not spread and does
02:11not disturb the communal harmony in the state and especially in that particular area.
02:16It's also important to mention that it has happened in Birbhum-Shankhya and this entire
02:22internet clamping down is only applicable in that particular area of Birbhum only.
02:28Thankfully, the situation has been pretty normal-ish since late afternoon yesterday,
02:38and 20 plus people were detained in this scuffle that broke out between two groups.
02:47Thank you, Suryagini. So far, close to 20 people, as my colleague Suryagini was pointing out,
02:51have now been detained in the state of West Bengal. The situation has now been normalised.
