00:41 West Bengal BJP chief Dr Sukanta Majumdar expressed his outrage on social media, criticizing
00:48 the state government and the opposition alliance for their silence and inaction on such heinous

00:59 Local sources identified the two abused women as residents of Manekcha.

01:12 The incident has been met with political implication as the TMC leader Shashi Panja accused the

01:21 Panja stated that a case has been registered regarding the incident and urged against unnecessary

01:28 According to her, it was a case of theft where the two women attempted to steal something
01:33 from the market and some women took the law into their hands and initiated the violent
01:37 beating.
01:38 The police had intervened and an investigation is underway.
01:42 Currently, the police have detained five individuals in connection with this case.
