00:00And our big news from home, LPG supply will be cut off if households refuse PNG switch where it is
00:09already available.
00:10Remember, this is an order from the government and it is to ensure that people who can get a PNG
00:17connection should switch to it
00:19so that there is some sort of a stability as far as cooking gas supply is concerned.
00:25So clearly the government has said that make that change, it has mandated that cooking gas LPG supply to households
00:32will be discontinued
00:33if consumers fail to switch to pipe natural gas, which is the PNG, where such connectivity is available.
00:40This is under a new order aimed at accelerating gas network expansion and reducing reliance on a single fuel, which
00:49is LPG, an LPG gas cylinder.
00:52So this is an attempt from the government side to ensure that there is diversity as far as cooking gas
00:58is concerned
00:59and households that use LPG but are in an area which has the connectivity of the pipe natural gas should
01:08switch to that.
01:09In fact, there were many incentives earlier announced by the government when these briefings were coming in,
01:15where petroleum ministry officials were also seated.
01:17They had clearly announced that if you choose to take a new connection right now, there are many incentives that
01:25are there.
01:26There will be a discount offered as well.
01:28So this is the right time, the government feels, for people who live in areas, in regions where there is
01:34already pipe natural gas supply,
01:36which is the PNG supply, they should switch to that instant of relying on this monthly supply of gas cylinders
01:43that they usually go for.
01:45This reduces the burden on the LPG supply chain.
01:49This also ensures an uninterrupted supply to your homes, to your stoves, to your cooking gas stoves.
01:55And this is what the government wants, for you to switch to PNG connections if you are in an area
02:02where it is available.
02:04So government has come out with an order that makes it mandatory now,
02:09that if you do not switch to pipe natural gas where the connectivity is available,
02:15then the LPG supply to these households will be discontinued.
02:21So people, consumers, customers who are dependent on the LPG supply and still have connections around their houses,
02:29should look at making that switch right now.
02:32Because the situation can come to a point where they will be left without any LPG supply as their connections
02:39will be cut off,
02:40supply will be discontinued.
02:42Now, this may be a slightly heavy-handed tactic from the government to ensure that switch happens.
02:48But right now, India is looking at a crisis and that crisis could be cooking gas crisis.
