Transcript
00:00According to the OWTU, the collective bargaining negotiations for the groups they represent
00:07have been ongoing for several years.
00:10Despite multiple meetings and letters, including those from September 2023 and May 2024,
00:16the union says UWE has not responded to its revised proposal.
00:21The OWTU argues that while the West Indies group of university teachers received a higher wage increase,
00:27the administrative, technical, and service staff workers have been offered a mere 2% increase over three years,
00:34with no adjustments to allowances and COLA.
00:37The union pointed out that the ATSS collective agreement covers the period from Jan. 1, 2015 to Dec. 31, 2017,
00:47while the daily and weekly rated workers agreement runs from Jan. 1, 2017 to Dec. 31, 2019.
00:56The union calls this quote, total disrespect, end quote, and argues it shows a lack of equity in treating all workers fairly.
01:06They are requesting the same effort used to settle WIGOT's agreement to be applied to their negotiations
01:13for the ATSS and daily and weekly rated workers.
01:17They emphasize their commitment to settling the longstanding issues
01:21and are ready to meet with the university urgently to reach an agreement that appropriately addresses the concerns of their members.
