00:00The Attorney General's office has announced that following what it calls a
00:04collaborative process led by Minister in the office of the Attorney General
00:08Renuka Sagaram Singh Suklal, steps have been taken for the consideration of
00:13potential amendments to the Hindu marriage regulations under the Hindu
00:18Marriage Act. The AG's office said AG Reginald Amora has referred a report
00:24with these proposed amendments to the Law Reform Commission. The AG's office
00:29further says the Attorney General has directed the Law Reform Commission to
00:33examine the potential for similar policy considerations for reform in other
00:38sectors of the national community with a view for greater national recognition of
00:44women's rights.
