JP and BMitch debate whether Washington should consider bringing back free agent pass catcher Dyami Brown after he starred in the postseason last year.

00:00Adam Peters yesterday didn't provide any insight on which players, but he made very clear that

00:06the top priority for them right now. And from a logistical standpoint, this makes sense

00:11because it's the only thing they can do right now, but that the top priority is getting

00:16some of their pending free agents back in house and getting them signed to deals.

00:22We've talked a lot about Wagner, Ertz, Chin. I think Chin's probably the top priority just

00:26because he's a little younger than the rest of those guys. Where do you put Deami Brown

00:32on the list? I think he's someone they would like to have

00:37back, but I think it's at a certain price. I don't think that they're going to break

00:42the bank for him. Since he started to come on, I know everybody didn't care about him

00:49and believe in him. But as the season went on, we saw him begin to get it. And I believe

00:55that this team, listen, they're like, look, we would love to have you. I know you're going

01:02to test the market, but they're not going to sit up there and have no battle for them.

01:07Agree. I think Deami played really well in the playoffs. He came on late when Noah Brown

01:13went down. I think Deami showed a lot about he was really good on screens. And I think

01:22that was kind of unexpected. I think he showed a lot. He showed some heart down the stretch,

01:29though. I give it to him. Caught the ball, ran hard. He did some stuff. Totally. And

01:34I think there were legitimate questions about the physicality prior to this year. I like

01:42him as a person. I think he is well liked in the locker room. He's a little goofy. He's

01:47funny. He's got like 100 mouthpieces hanging from his locker all the time. I don't I think

01:53I think Pete, I think Haley might have actually done a story on that a couple of years ago.

01:57I don't know. I think most of our Redskins coverage from the old website has kind of

02:00been wiped off, which is sad. But whatever. I think I think you nailed it. I think you

02:08try to bring him back. And like what happens with a lot of these guys is there will be

02:14some level of preliminary conversation prior to the league year opening. And it's like,

02:23yo, we're interested. We're interested about here. And whether that's a year for five or

02:29whatever that number looks like, that they'll be like, yo, we're interested. We're about

02:32here. And sometimes they'll ask, guys, if you get something else, will you let us know?

02:38Maybe we can match it. Yeah. Yeah. Guys don't always do that. Or at least talk to him and

02:42find out. Then you go out there and when people start offering to you, you know where

02:46you stand already in a place that you're comfortable with. Right. What is interesting is people

02:55have talked about how Washington might become a destination. Right. And I think a lot of

02:59that is probably a little premature in that you don't know. Ninety eight ish percent of

03:06decisions are made based on money. Where the most money is, is what people are deciding

03:12on. So destination's great. But I do wonder a little if you're an in-house free agent,

03:19like if you're already playing there and Diami has seen the difference a stud quarterback

03:24makes over his four seasons. Think about the quarterbacks he played with and then the quarterback

03:29he played with this year. Like there's a dramatic difference. Yeah. That's it. You got to weigh

03:35the options. Yeah. He, he had 308 yards receiving in 16 regular season games. It's just a remarkable

03:45lack of production. But then in the playoffs, 14 catches for 229 yards and a touchdown.

03:51I mean that playoff run, the catch in Detroit where B Rob scored like on the next play.

03:56I mean, the army was really, really good in the playoffs. And I don't know that you want

04:01to extrapolate too much from that because it was, you know, three games, but he was great.

04:07And I think somewhere, right. And I think you just have a real conversation with him. Hey man,

04:13whether they are or aren't, you just, you make it clear and keep us updated as your,

04:19cause I don't think, correct me if you disagree, be, I don't think there's going to be a run on

04:26the Diami Brown market when the tampering period opens. Like, I don't think, I don't think early

04:31on, you're not going to hear that. You're going to have some other names, but not right there.
