Two fishermen Albert James and Junior Thorne have been reported missing after failing to return from a fishing trip on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. More in this Elizabeth Williams report.

00:00According to reports, the men departed Pigeon Point Fish Port around 6 a.m. aboard a white
00:07and blue open-top fiberglass pirogue with registration TFT 1528 Xena, interior sky blue.
00:16They were reportedly heading southwest to set three fishpots, though their exact location
00:23was not disclosed.
00:25The fishermen, who typically return between 9 a.m. and 9.30 a.m., have not been seen
00:32since their departure.
00:34Relatives raised an alarm after they failed to return as expected.
00:38All relevant authorities have been alerted, those being the Trinidad and Tobago Coast
00:43Guard, North Post Radio, the Fisheries Department of the Division of Food Security, Natural
00:49Resources, the Environment and Sustainable Development, and the All Tobago Fisherfolk
00:55Association.
00:56Search and rescue operations began on Tuesday and continued on Wednesday.
01:01A high wind and hazardous seas alert, yellow level, was issued by the Trinidad and Tobago
01:07Meteorological Services and remains in effect.
01:11The public is urged to exercise caution and avoid venturing out to sea under these hazardous
01:18conditions.
01:19TEMA says anyone with information that could assist in locating the missing fishermen is
01:25asked to contact TEMA via 2-1-1 and further updates will be provided as the situation
01:32develops.
