00:00I want to appeal to the fisherfolk across the island that, you know, we have to find
00:09a way to be safer in our craft, in how we go about exercising our duties.
00:17The THA will take another look at how we can assist.
00:22At this point in time, we do have a program where grants are being given out to fisherfolk
00:29through the BDO department at the Division of Finance to assist them in acquiring GPS locators
00:37and trackers and satellite phones and so on. So we want to make sure that we are not fishing
00:45in the way that we were fishing many, many years ago.
00:49Mr Augustine told TV6 News he remains overjoyed and thankful for all stakeholders who assisted
00:56in bringing the fishermen back to shore, including Tobago's fisherfolk.
01:01Well, I'm overjoyed that the fishermen are back home and they're back home safely and that they
01:07will be nourished back to health. I must commend the efforts of so many stakeholders that came
01:14together. We got a report at Thima sometime after three on day one and we began working
01:25alongside Coast Guard and the fisherfolk and the community at large to bring them back home.
01:32Mr Augustine said Thima and other stakeholders must be commended for their efforts.
01:38I must commend the efforts of Mr Stuart at Thima and Miss Abeko at Thima who worked
01:46along with the fisherfolk as well. We were there providing fuel and trackers and all
01:55implements needed to assist in tracking and locating the fisherfolks. So we're just happy
02:01that they're back home safe and sound from now. Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
