00:00The community lands itself into the spotlight as the Ministry of Sport last evening launched
00:05the SHAPE program at the Hazeley Crawford Stadium.
00:08SHAPE is the acronym for Sport, Health, Athletic Performance and Empowerment and is aimed at
00:14promoting sporting activities in schools across the country.
00:18Sport Minister Kodjoe insists that the program is critical in aiding the development of sport
00:22at schools and in the community, while announcing TNT's very own anti-doping organization.
00:29I'm happy to announce that we recently installed our Trinidad and Tobago anti-doping organization
00:38board which is headed by no other than Douglas Camacho.
00:43Ladies and gentlemen, this is an initiative that we have been working on for many, many,
00:49many years and every year while the World Anti-Doping Agency would write us telling
00:54us you're not doing too well, you need to catch up, we're going to help you.
01:00And I'm grateful to the ambassador from Jamaica, the Jamaican High Commissioner, sorry, and
01:06the government of Jamaica for the assistance they have extended to us in building our anti-doping
01:12here in Trinidad and Tobago.
01:16Kodjoe highlighted the Pink Rain campaign that focuses on the development of women and
01:21girls in sport by providing opportunities to increase awareness and participation in
01:26sport and physical activity.
01:30And when you've gotten to that stage where you no longer wish to play physically, and
01:35even before that, encouraging women and girls to get to the leadership position, to open
01:40the doors, to stay in training, to mentor others so that we have a level playing field
01:47and our young ladies don't have to drop out when they get to the menstrual, when they
01:54get to puberty, or young ladies don't have to drop out because, or stop to make a child
02:01and never come back.
