00:07How do we feel here Super Bowl in New Orleans?

00:09I know the the dreams are one day to be playing in that game. You kind of feel the buzz in town

00:13Yeah, man, it's it's awesome. It's been fun being out here

00:17Getting to enjoy these, you know great events and be here at Radio Row

00:20It's cool to see all the Super Bowl stuff around the city

00:23And yeah, like you said definitely a goal to be in this game one day now

00:26You're in an interesting spot because

00:29Head coach opening wise right you guys still have that vacancy

00:34You guys hear everything. I know you do have you heard kind of some of that Kellen Moore stuff

00:39Do you have any thoughts on the chances that he may become your head coach? Yeah, you know definitely heard everything

00:45You know, I my mindset is kind of just show up at work, you know, no matter what, you know

00:49I think it'd be great to have an offensive minded guy like him, you know, obviously played the position as well

00:54So I think that could benefit a lot especially being a quarterback

00:57But like I said, man, just keep my head down keep working. Whatever happens happens. Yeah for sure

01:01I mean, yeah, so you can only control so much but is that something that

01:06for you that would be

01:08Encouraging that would be ideal if the person brought in kind of has that that offensive first approach

01:14That's where they're most familiar with baby, you know, I think I think everybody has you know their own opinion on it

01:19You know, I think in the league you see a lot of you know, offensive minded head coaches and quarterbacks have success

01:27So I think I think that'd be great, you know, but but again, you know

01:31I know I'm sound like a record here on repeat, but keep my head down and work and kind of control what I can

01:37you know, so

01:38But to answer your question, yeah, I think I think that'd be good to have offensive minded guy

01:42But but for you because you have the experience within college right to play in two different schools. So

01:47Um, what is that adjustment like when you're gonna go from one system to the next and then how much does it help when you

01:54Eventually get to find that continuity. Hmm. Yeah, you know, I was in three different systems in college and then you know

02:01One so far here in the NFL in my first year and you know, definitely gonna be another one this upcoming season

02:07So I think that's just part of the business, you know part of the job

02:10I think all offenses are similar, you know similar verbiage similar. They're all the same plays

02:17There's a different verbiage different

02:19Terminologies for it. So obviously, you know, you have to apply yourself to learn it quickly

02:23Yep, and adjust but I think being through a couple systems so far has helped me. Yeah

02:27Um for you and kind of the the way the season went

02:32You know for the team, right?

02:35Fast start you guys come out of the gates roaring and unfortunately some injuries start to happen

02:39But it gets you on the field early and not every rookie gets that opportunity

02:44Um, sometimes we we hear these debates of let's get guys out there get reps

02:49Let's let them sit and watch you got to do a little bit a a little bit of B

02:53Yeah, what felt more beneficial to you throughout the year? I think playing a hundred percent, you know being out there getting the live reps

03:00Getting in, you know game time situations going against I think all the starts I had were first playoff teams except one

03:07So I think that's even better

03:08And you know being out there

03:10Obviously, we had a ton of injuries a lot of different moving parts change the head coach in the middle of the year

03:15So it was an interesting first year

03:17But I love the experiences and put some good stuff on tape a lot of good stuff to learn from as well

03:22Um for you were there

03:25What were the aspects of it where you kind of felt the difference, right?

03:29because I mean but by the time you were finishing up with South Carolina, I mean you were rolling you're playing great great football and

03:35The you know the NFL it's everyone says it's a different level

03:38So what were you kind of noticing as you were out there playing? I mean, these these are the best guys in the world

03:43They get paid a lot for their position to you know, so it's not easy

03:48I learned it's not easy to win in the NFL

03:50You got to have all your pieces and sometimes you got to go over X's and O's to make plays to set your team up

03:56But it doesn't take one guy it takes, you know, 11 on the field at a time and you know

04:02We each got to do our job and you know

04:04there's a lot of times we did that a lot of times we didn't and

04:07You know a lot of great stuff to learn from but enjoyed every experience. Yeah, I'm curious for you

04:12You know, South Carolina is a team that I think kind of caught people by surprise this past year

04:19Do you feel like that program is starting to really turn the corner when we talk about?

04:24Consistency right in college. It can be tough to find but you know with Lenore Sellers back another year

04:29Do you feel like now we're starting to see that continue to track upwards most definitely, you know

04:33That's one of the things I'm most proud of is going to South Carolina and helping them

04:36Yeah

04:37get to where they want to be because I got so much respect and love for coach Beamer and and a lot of the

04:42Staff there and players there and obviously the fans

04:44And yeah, I knew Lenore's was gonna be special when he was behind me last year and knew when he would get his shot

04:51He would do well and you know

04:53He had some up-and-downs early but kept working and obviously you see super talented and they're headed in the right direction

04:58When you I mean, I know you're busy with your own stuff in the NFL

05:01But I'm sure you heard some of the conversations around the college football playoff of conference first conference

05:07You played in multiple conferences

05:08Did you feel that the SEC was you know with respect maybe a little bit of a step above some of the stuff you were

05:13Seen when you were playing at OU no doubt

05:16SEC I think is just different. I know the college football playoff might you know, SEC didn't have a great showing

05:22I guess you can say

05:24This year other than Georgia and I think that's about it, right?

05:27Georgia loses their starting quarterback exactly and then like I watched the I'll be honest with I saw I'm a Notre Dame fan

05:34Yeah, right, but people were like see Notre Dame finally got him like I don't know man with respect to Stockton

05:40I mean, there's not a lot of reps there exactly

05:41I think that that was a big part of it and but I mean then you look at the Big Ten

05:45I mean you look at Ohio State there. They were clearly the best team in the country. I think of any conference

05:51But playing in the SEC always rock with the SEC because I respect it

05:55You know the coaches the players everything but there's tons of great teams now with NIL

06:00I mean, it really doesn't matter, right?

06:02So but that is one of the really interesting things with the way the NIL is operated in that

06:08Someone like Jeremiah Smith right at Ohio State where I think if we were 10 years ago be like man

06:13This is ridiculous. Like let's let him go earn his money now, you know

06:17The NFL contract whenever he gets there will be what it is, but he's gonna be able to get

06:22Somewhat of his worth while at Ohio State that's a great change. He's gonna be making a ton

06:27These next two years. Yeah, you know in in in college

06:31I'm thinking of guys like Dylan Stewart as well at South Carolina the DN he's gonna be making a ton as well

06:35Yeah, it's another guy that could probably step in and play sooner than he has to

06:39But yeah, there's no need to rush to the NFL now for guys coming out of college

06:43Get your education get paid and build a legacy. Yeah for you it with

06:49Again kind of going from the backup position to the starting position

06:51Was there any of the wide receivers because you had so many different guys, right?

06:54the ins and outs the injuries that you started to really find a connection with and find that groove with where you're hoping to grow

07:00On that from year one to year two. Yeah

07:02Like you said, it was a lot of different in and outs from receivers tight and we were banged up, you know

07:06And but I think you know

07:10Foster Moreau Juwan Johnson

07:12Those were two guys that I really connected with a lot on and off the field and we had some good production

07:17You know Kevin Austin another guy who was a you know, not too many people knew about him, but he made plays

07:24You know throughout the year and then you know MVS

07:27I thought you know was great for us and you know wanted to get these guys the ball more and spread it around

07:33you know, and they know that but

07:35Yeah, I mean, I'll say a lot of those guys we had a good connection with and could have even been better

07:40yeah, and and I think those things will come with time playing with

07:44Kamara for you

07:46Was that was that different of a running back who I think when people talk about his talent

07:51they start by talking about what he can do in the receiving game and then trying to find ways to

07:55Get him his touches in a different capacity than you you think about getting a running back to football you like this, right?

08:01Yeah, kind of screen game different things like that. Yeah. No, he's a guy that can do everything on the football field

08:06You ask him to do

08:08You know a ton of respect

08:09He's one of our leaders on our team one of our captains and being able to be out there on the field with him

08:14It's almost like a safety blanket you feel like in that backfield. He knows his protections

08:19He's catched the ball very well. And obviously you see I can run the ball

08:23You know, and yeah, you know, I wish I could have played with him more

08:27You know, I'd be awesome to play with him more here in the future

08:29Yeah, I'll ask you this special don't let you get out of here. Appreciate you joining us. Of course, it's great

08:34Your team did play both, Kansas City and Philadelphia

08:38So you have some familiarity kind of with that and then going into the prep any expectations for the game?

08:44On Sunday, do you feel maybe you're leaning one way in terms of who will win it?

08:47You know, it's gonna be hard to go against the Chiefs and what they've been able to do

08:51You know getting to watch my homes and Kelsey and that defense when we played him was pretty impressive

08:56But the Eagles at the same time, they probably got the best roster. I'd say in the NFL

09:02It's really a toss-up for me if the Eagles Jalen and Saquon come out there and do their thing and that defense plays at a high

09:09Level, yeah, they'll make it tough, but it's hard to bet against my homes
