Leeds remain resolute in January ahead of FA Cup clash

00:00A bit of a break from Championship action after that, back to the FA Cup. Millwall are

00:07the visitors and well, you're facing another Championship side, so given the fact that

00:11it's essentially a Championship game disguised as an FA Cup game, again, Leeds will be naturally

00:17favourites, won't they?

00:18They will be, yeah. I think the thing that stands out with this one for me is the fact

00:21that Leeds play on Tuesday, actually the game after it, they play Watford away on Tuesday

00:25night and that's quite a quick turnaround really. I know they play Saturday lunchtime

00:28against Millwall, but that game coming up on Tuesday is a tight turnaround, especially

00:32travelling down to Watford as well. So I think there'll be lots of changes and whether there's

00:36quite that many for Millwall remains to be seen. So yeah, they'll be absolutely massive

00:39favourites again, long odds on. I think they're likely about four to nine, something like

00:43that, probably going to end up being even shorter than that probably by the time the

00:45game kicks off. But I could see that being a bit harder than it looks on paper purely

00:48because there'll be lots of changes, I'm certain of it. But therein, you know, we've

00:52looked at Leeds' bench for a long time now and said, look how strong the bench is and

00:55stuff and the players there. Presumably there's lots of people coming in who will get chances

00:59and that's going to be their chance to step up and shine. But yeah, the old Millwall one

01:02obviously fell to a defeat there earlier on in the season. Alex Neil's still since gone

01:06in, a bit like Lampard really at Coventry. He's gone in and done pretty well. I think

01:11they've won the last three. So again, they're facing another team in decent form and I suspect

01:15there'll be less changes at Millwall than there will be at Leeds potentially. So yeah,

01:19another one, there's a few more elements to it than on paper, but you know, people always

01:23say they want a cup run and obviously to win this they're going to be in, what is it,

01:25it'll be the last 16. But I mean, you know, obviously it's all about the league, isn't

01:29it? Let's face it. But equally, you want to keep the winning run and, you know, going

01:32and stuff. So, you know, hopefully they can go on and, you know, get themselves into that

01:35fifth round draw. There'll certainly be favourites and even though there'll be lots of changes,

01:38the changes should be more than enough to get them through.

01:42Also discussed was the ending of the January transfer window from a Leeds perspective,

01:47with the Whites not bringing in any players of note to their championship squad, which

01:51some have seen as a risk. But Daniel Farke was keen to point out that his current squad

01:57should be capable enough of getting promoted back to the Premier League. Lee Sowood gave

02:02his thoughts on the matter.

02:06I think that Daniel Farke did a really good job of answering this. He was asked about

02:09it in his pre-match press conference, you know, ahead of the Coventry game and his answer

02:14was about 10, 12, 30 minutes long really, which says it all because there were so many

02:17different facets to it. But I think that to try and summarise it, I think in an ideal

02:21world and certainly, you know, for us looking onwards at it and from a fan's point of view,

02:26in an ideal world, then yeah, they should have probably got somebody in. It would be

02:29better if they had got somebody in. But there's so many different, like, sort of factors to

02:32take into it, like Daniel Farke talked about in terms of, like, getting players in and

02:36then, you know, not wanting to guarantee the minutes and obviously needing every box to

02:40be ticked, et cetera, et cetera. And, you know, the fact that he took 12, 30 minutes

02:43to answer this question, you know, says that you can't really summarise it very quickly

02:47what he thinks in a couple of minutes. But I think the bottom line is, is if everybody

02:52stays fit and they don't get absolutely hammered with injuries, then I think they'll be fine.
